Queen's Day is also one of my favorites. A lot of the entries here are more on the comedic side, but angst and hurt are more of my strongsuits so it was nice to sneak it into the blog for once XD I remember I refused to re-read Queen's Day for a couple of months because I was scared that it would be a lot worse than what I had remembered tho, + plus I had a hard 'no editing once posted' rule for this blog, so in the event that it would have turned out to be bad I would have had to fight myself not to edit it lmaooo 😭😭

Also fun fact, the setting for Queen's Day was actually inspired by Professor Layton and the Curious Village! I hadn't played it in years back when I wrote the Queen's Day entry, but the image of Lady Violet's grave somehow always managed to stay in my mind. There was just something so etheral about it that it just stuck with me I guess

Unfortunately, all things come to a close eventually, and on the August 13th, the same will hold true for this blog

Writing this feels both devestating and bittersweet in a way because I truly, wholeheartedly love this blog. But to be honest at the same time there have been, and still are, moments where I can't stand even looking at it

Perhaps some of you remember that time I ended up in the ER and my first reaction despite all that being to go on here and apologize for not being able to post that day's entry in time. When I took my birthday off, part of me actually felt guilty about it. If you ever wondered why I kept coming back after long breaks only to abandon the blog again shortly after: this & a lot more is why

I know the writing hasn't always been great. I tried my best with the two-ish hours I had between getting the day's name & first being able to come up with an idea and the post going up at the game's reset, but the quality was all over the place at times. I'm sorry for that. I wish it could have been better

Today-in-the-devildom was originally meant to be a fun little side project to get me back into writing. I don't know when it twisted itself into something I felt forced to do, but tbh it has negatively impacted both my ability to write and my passion for creating new fandom projects

Anyway, thank you so much to everybody that has followed along on the ups and downs of this project lol

I am forever grateful to anyone that has shown their support & appreciation, reached out, sent asks and shared their own contributions based on my ideas. Any of the more community driven stuff (like 'Color Day' or forest anon helping me come up with an idea for the day 'Thank You') were some of my favorite memories I had with this blog & I will treasure them forever. I hope that despite everything this silly little blog managed to brighten your days more often than it did for me

I explained current Infinity Nikki story to some friends yesterday and the reactions to it were so funny because when you hear 'dress up game' you're not expecting any of that

There's this organization called Mothis that raises the Shroomseras (mushroom-like people) with the sole goal of ensuring their happiness. Any Shroomsera that happens to be sad for whatever reason at some point is deemed defective. We don't exactly know what Mothis does to unhappy Shroomseras but there's one Shroomsera we know that did get punished after being sad. Said Shroomsera is about to participate in the Fullbloom Festival which is a coming of age ceremony, yet unlike the other participants of the ceremony, their speech is on the level of a toddler + they also start having a breakdown the second Mothis is mentioned in the conversation

Anyway Shroomseras that manage to stay happy until the ceremony will be brought to the Land of Happiness where they are said to be happy forever and never feel sad ever again. You can only go there after successfully participating in the ceremony & you can never leave once you get there

Thing is the 'Land of Happiness' is actually a sweets factory & they're killing and cooking the Shroomseras to turn them into fuel for the city

There's this guy called Angert who works for a cult that had the goal of studying the Shroomling's soul-body-connection because it remained basically indestructable even when the Mother Shroom was slowly being killed by them

EXCEPT he's actually been a double agent for the Parksolians. (Parksolians are humans and dragons that have combined their souls into one body to save both their species from the brink of collapse. Due to housing two souls in one body, they get something called 'Soulrift' which causes them immense pain. The final stage of Soulrift is called Soulfall and it's where a Parksolian's soul loses its connection to its body forever. Both Soulrift and Soulfall are incurable)

EXCEPT Angert is actually a TRIPLE agent for Mothis, and has been keeping an eye on Nikki since she carries half of the mark of the cycle of reincarnation which they need to reincarnate the titan king Asna into a new body but sike, actually he inflitrated Mothis to keep an eye on them and their schemes and is here to help Nikki

Except SIKE AGAIN he actually IS a triple agent for Mothis because he's the son of two of their original members (also known as The Nine since they used to be,, nine members. They were originally part of the people that later became the Parksolians). The Nine were the ones that first introduced the Titan King Asna to Soul Transfer which lets her forcibly transfer her soul into the body of another, killing the original soul in the process. Since The Nine couldn't do Soul Transfers for themselves, they froze their bodies in specially created cocoons and were only ever released when Asna needed to transfer her soul again. When our guy was born, he was frozen like the rest of them, only to eventually have his soul transferred into the body of an orphan Parksolian child so he could live among them undercover. In the main story, he also betrays Nikki, imprisons her and brings her to his father

EXCEPT Angert is actually a QUADRUPLE agent because, in the years he has spent being raised by the Parksolians he has come to truly care for them and considers them his true family. When his father was about to kill Nikki (?) to get his hands on her half of the Mark of the Cycle that was still needed for the Soul Transfer, Angert instead kills his father by stabbing him in the heart. He then uses all of his literal life force to reopen the exit of the Soul Corridor in order to help Nikki escape, causing him to die in the process

Technically not too late + I get a feeling you would LOVE Medael because she kinda 👉👈 ++ the creative team is genuinely goated imo, but also please keep in mind that this is the same company that somehow manages to fuck over pretty much all of their games in some shape or form. IN technically already went through its fuck-up back in 1.5 and a lot of things have been improved since, but also the old opening to the game is still gone & as long as there is no massive change in Papergame's leadership position any of their games will always be at risk of destroying themselves
