There's so many more drawings of him just as a mer. these are just the three i thought were really cute and still love to this day. its one of those aus that i adore on him. this isn't even mentioning the 100s and 100s of drawings i have of him normally.

i watched season 3 for the first time in my college dorm, far away from home, at the PEAK of the lockdown madness. Long story short, this character came into my life at the perfect time and did exactly what comfort characters do. Worm their way into your heart and then never leave :3

I hope you have a comfort character that has helped you like that. i understand that sometimes, despite being so simple & silly, it can make all the difference.

Important psa: if a child unprompted offers you some of their snack take the offering. Even if you don’t want it. Even if you don’t eat it. Take it and say thank you. And then toss it when they aren’t looking if you don’t plan on eating it.

Bonus points if you believable pretend to eat it. Even more bonus points if you actually eat it with them.

I am not a psychologist but I know 100% that sharing food and people happily taking it from you does something good for your brain and self esteem.

Mermay Day 9 : Sea Monster

I'M STILL ON TRACK I WAS JUST AWAY FROM MY LAPTOP ALL DAY I SWEAR I DIDNT FORGET THIS TIME

Phew, now that that is cleared up- WOW WAS THIS FUN GUYS I THINK I'M ARTING!! I'm definitely feeling more warmed up and well practiced as the days go on and the challenges persist. This one was super fun and I had so much joy making Sun, Moon, and Eclipse into a sea monster. From what my research says there are multiple names for this ranging from a three headed hydra to a sea serpent. I decided to combine all the qualities though into one because I haven't drawn Eclipse yet! HEY FUN FACT- in Greek mythology there is something called a Lernaean Hydra and they live in lakes! I found that neat!

I may make this into fully rendered art piece I dunno, motivation is a strange fickle thing though.

I would 100% expect this to be a detailed sea monster image on the side of a vintage map and would make even the bravest mariner think twice before setting sail. It’s so freaking coolllllll. And I am so honored you used and liked my art tip.

DAY 6: Twilight zone

Ah the twlight zone. the second deepest level of the ocean ranging from 200m (656 ft) to 1000m (3,300 ft).

While diving is still possible in this zone, divers need special equipment and careful planning. through this zone 'the bends' is a constant threat and divers have to plan for extensive periods of decompression as they ascend. Its a fragile opperation thats scary enough on its own, but would you beleive it gets worse?

For this ocean zone houses one of the few animals I truly am afraid of. The Humboldt squid, the giant squid's smaller but more aggressively social little cousin. I say 'little' lightly as these monstrosities can grow to almost 7 ft long with beaks strong enough to crush bone. unlike giant squid these guys hunt in packs and use their complex form of color communication to organize precise attacks on any poor soul they decide is lunch.

So not only do divers have to watch their equipment, their composure, and their every move...they also have to watch out for an eight-armed, razor-beaked monster that 9 times out of 10 will not be alone.

DAY 5: Science Lab! 🔬🧪📡🔭🦠🔍

There's alot of mystery surrounding that high tech lighthouse. They say it's for studying sea life....but...just what kind of sea life are they studying??

Strange lights, strange sounds, odd hours, weird shipments going in and out,.. reports of strange fish... boats sinking and people disappearing without a trace....no one really knows .What i do know..... is if you stare at the shoreline around that place for too long.....

DAY 3: Jellyfish! 🪼

Out of over 2,000 species of known jellyfish, one of the more recognizable ones is the Blue bottle or the Portuguese Man o' war depending on the region. Unlike classic jellyfish, this species will spend almost its entire life floating and riding the waves using its gas filled body and sail like crest to travel. While their bodies remain fairly small their tentacles can drag behind them for up to 165 ft!! encountering these guys is pretty common as during particular seasons they will wash up on beaches and float close to shore. Unless you are allergic, a sting will not kill you but it will HURT!! Watch out during bluebottle season!!

DAY 2: SEASHELL! 🐚

Is this the conch equivalent of alien abduction? 👽 he do kinda look like an alien though, i mean that as a compliment i promise.

Todays featured creature is Conch! while its still alive! check em out!

There's several species of conch and all true conches are completely harmless to people. they just stare at ya or try to touch you with their 'foot' that other big section of body hanging out in the photo above. They cant hurt you but beware! for cone snails can!! cone snails are dangerous shell dwellers that contain a deadly neurotoxin that can kill in minutes that they can inject into you with a harpoon like appendage that they use for hunting. cone snail and conch snail habitats overlap frequently so NEVER pick up an intact shell like this unless you know what species it is or if it is for sure empty. Happy (and safe) Shell hunting!!
