This is a comfort Jake's grown used to not having. ducking into doors, being crammed into vehicles, even his bed back on the rez was four sizes too small. He sprawls out easily against Bella's sofa, his hands wrapped around the small steaming mug again, now casually. Umber eyes glance from the TV over to the girl lounging beside him. He's far from interested in what they're about to watch. But this is a moment of comfort; any chance he got to spend with Bella was a gift. Honestly, most of the time, Jake finds himself forgetting the world when he's with her. She did more than just make him happy; she made him feel whole.
Jacob rolls his eyes comically at the thought of MIKE newton even TRYING to stand up to him. The very thought of Jacob towering over Mike made his shoulder shake in an amusing laugh. ❝Oh come on. That dude's a total cream puff. What's he gonna do, throw some camping gear at me?❞ he mused mid thought. Jacob moves on his own, trying not to overthink, not to let things get 'awwakrd' as he shifts beside her on the couch. One large arm lifts in almost a mock yawn before he drops it almost lazily around her shoulders, pulling her in close to his body. There's never a moment when he forgets how fragile Bella is, but times like this, when he's right beside her, he gets a cruel reminder of their differences. ❝yeah? Yeah, totally.❞ He agrees, but part of him thinks -- hopes that what she needed was this, them, together. and not the chocolate, though that was a bonus.
❝Hey, uh, you know. ❞ He lets his head lull over to face her. ❝There's going to be a pretty big get-together, a tribal meeting at the end of this week. uh, it would be super cool if you went. If you want, I mean. You're welcome to.❞ He stopped talking and turned his head back to the TV.
