hi, everyone! we've been wanting to do a new event for a while now, and we are sooo excited to do this one.
october is our birthday month (our birthday is the 29th), so we wanted to do something fun lol.
you all know how a prompt event works; you make edits based on these prompts, you tag the blog (+ #gladiolusbirthday) and you have fun. that's it! for prompt lists like this, inspired by one of radio's events, you have to include things that match as many of the words as possible.
the theme of these prompts are pretty obvious if you know us decently well lmao. but if you manage to guess what the theme is, you get an extra priority request.
day 1: desert. gunpowder. oil slick. withered. liminal.
day 2: board games. static shock. plaid. doodles. posters.
day 3: lighters. bruised knuckles. blasting music. cracked glass. drumsticks.
day 4: comic book. in the clouds. feathers. camera shutter. computer files.
day 5: painted nails. old books. archival. eternity. surveillance.
day 6: toxic. dissection. leather. 3d. steampunk.
day 7: caffeine. whiskers. fogged windows. paper stars. awake.
day 8: digital. doll joints. frills. obey. inverted.
this event will go on from october 14th to november 4th (about three weeks). the prize will be a priority request for anyone who completes at least four of the prompts. we look forward to seeing what you all come up with!

🎙️THE GAME: Okay, contestants! Welcome to the show! Below you, there's three mystery boxes all containing a half-finish edit of varying complexity! You may choose to do just one, or two, or even all three! Up to you! Your task, is to complete the edits in the mystery boxes to the best of your ability! Each edit has it's own set of rules! But let's go over the general rules and guidelines:
You are not allowed to move or unlocked any of my locked layers!
While you can put things on top or in between, you can't completely cover my half of the edit, you are meant to finish it, not hide it! It has to still be mostly visible.
If an asset has [placeholder] written in it's title, you can move & delete it! But ONLY if it has the word [placeholder], as those are there to serve as small examples of what you can do. If an item is locked and/or does not have [placeholder] in the title you CANNOT delete it.
Assets with [move-ok] in title can be moved (not deleted!). They cannot be changed in size either, only moved across the canvas.

Alongside these rules, each 'box' has it's own set of challenges, you must follow the challenges of whatever box you chose AND the general rules listed above!
🎲 THE WHEEL OF FORTUNE! — When participating, you can send me a 🎟️ to redeem your prize! I will then spin a wheel of various edit types, and that will be your prize. You only need to do one to be eligible for spinning the prize wheel, it's your choice to do more! You are eligible to a maximum of 3 spins and 2 rerolls. The wheel of fortune is not mandatory, and if you do not want to redeem a prize, that's fine, I will not be mad I promise, lol.
🎁 THE MYSTERY BOXES: choose wisely~ Each box contains a folder with both a .psd file and a preview png.
BOX 1: Inside box one, you find a display of colors. This box contains a half finished psd. (LINK)
rules for this box:
✔️ alter and change the colors however you want, using your own layers. you may use your own psd showcase to post it, if you want one. you can also use the psd in an edit as opposed to continuing the psd.
❌ change or alter any of my layers. move any of my layers. delete any of my layers. The psd MUST stay majorly skintone friendly, please do not make it downright unusable on most skintones.
BOX 2: Inside box two, you find so many pop ups and computer assets, you start consider whether or not your computer has gotten a virus. Luckily it has not, it is only a half-done graphic. This box contains a half finished rentry graphic. (LINK)

BOX 3: Inside box three, you find a much bigger canvas, with scattered miscellaneous items all about. This box contains a half finished tumblr banner/header. (LINK) To earn a bonus spin, you can make matching icons.
!!! UNMEGED file contains each individual png of the collage as a separate layer. There is ~30 or more layers, do not use it if your device cant handle that many, use the merge file instead.
