john's dying speech to dean being "you took care of Sammy . . . you took care of me." is so fucking depressing. it's an apology and not, it's damnation---I'm dying for you because it's the only way I can repay you---and not, and it's going to be the last thing Dean really remembers of his father. he's going to remember that it's his fault john died, because he fucked up. he got hurt, and john saved him, and now john is apologizing for something dean has internalized his upset over so hard that he views it as his love rather than the unjustness it was

hm. do y’all ever stop to think about how Dean’s savior/martyr complex affects Sam. Like..we talk all the time about how damaging the parentification was for Dean and that’s the part I relate to and empathize with so I fully get it but man…Sam didn’t ask for that. Sam is perceptive; he can always tell when something’s up with Dean. Do you think he felt guilty just for being born? Do you think he thought about how Dean would have had fewer burdens to bear if he wasn’t around? Do you think he spends his adult life looking back on all the times he asked Dean for something or relied on Dean and feels guilty for putting that on him, because he sees how Dean moves through the world thinking his only purpose is to sacrifice himself for others? Do you think Sam knows that he doesn’t need to feel guilty for all that. Do you think Sam is healthy enough to realize that it’s not his fault for needing things

note: i knew i didn't want anything too busy, so the original code was a great fit but i also wasn't interested in minimalistic designs (i need to sprinkle a little bit sumn, yknow?) so i had to make my own header and footer images and spent HOURS trying to figure out how to make them adjust automatically for laptop and phone screens so that i don't have to manually set it every damn time. i have absolutely zero background in coding whatsoever + god, the image sizing was one hell son of a bitch, so i'm really happy with how turned up!

more important note: again, no background in coding here! so i can only be sure that only these header and footer images will work for this code due to potential sizing issues. if you would like to customize your own header and footer images, please be advised that results may be cropped and that you would have to modify the code yourself!
