Happy New Year!
Hi,
2015's begun. Come to see my new tumblr! http://coding2015.tumblr.com/
Thanks for 2014 ;)
I don’t regret for a single moment having lived for pleasure
In case I would have forgotten Oscar Wilde's words. Writing posts took me too much time thus I decided to skip it. Maybe it's a comeback. Working on my engineering thesis. Weekend in Cracow, own flat, escaping promoter, funniest SSIDs, gigs
Now, get back to work, lazy arse.
Professor responsible for the Seminary is kind of grammar nazi and I was the one to blaze a trail. It made me very nervous, but the more I am nervous before, the less I am nervous during the show. That is why the Engineering Thesis presentation was another success. Professor said that she enjoyed so much that she won't include my countless language mistakes when takes the mark. Now the last thing left is to write an article till Friday.
Python's Django project is close to it's finish line. After that we will accept changes only via cash.
Enginering Thesis is going too slow! I even broke my Bluetooth module... But I received lot's of unexpected help that may push me forward! Still, no matter how slow I move...
I was sick and very busy lately, but maybe I will participate in European Championships of Wushu. Which is some kind of joke for me but there are no responsible people in the federation.
Sorry for a note with hardly content ;/
Another break was inevitable. Seems like providing new posts with description takes too long for me to do it daily.
My Turing Test presentation turned out to be a great success! Thanks to my friends on Facebook I've even prepared veeeery long off-topic issue with movies about self liberating machines conquering our world. Presentation was for Computer in Culture (KWK), now I just have to be present on other lectures.
Next Friday I'm presenting my work on Engineering Thesis. That presentation is one of the most important. It is for the Diploma Seminar (SDI). I have already tested the screen in and prepared half of slides. Probably I'm going to show something not very different from the presentation from last semester.
Also, last Friday I had first laboratory work on Freescale TWR which was quite easy, but totally rocked. I had to code each light diode to switch when pushed and code button to turn off whole application. Very easy, but brings hundreds opportunities to test device and learn. Next Friday I have to code accelerometer and thermometer. This is really absorbing! If I had more time I would get even touch screen to code. BTW the subject's called Embedded Systems (SWB).
About Django projects... Customers are really feminine - once they're happy, once disappointed. We do nothing about it, and we're going to do nothing more.
Engineering Thesis... slowly, but not moving forward.
Stay Tuned!

Inventions have long since reached their limit, and I see no hope for further development. Julius Frontinus, 1st century A.D.
This quote I am totally going to use in my Computer In Culture presentation. Just after that would be Moore's Law describing current speed of development. In summary it says that we are able to double the memory size on "single size unit" every two years.
I am fighting now with the font shop, scout's camp accountancy system, project for Real Time Systems and Arduino UNO - for Engineering Thesis.

Lost post
Just found lost post from 9.02.2014:
More Ivan Bratko. Finished Girl with a Dragoon Tattoo or Men that hate women - I’m not pretty sure what’s the English title. Passed all exams, but still attending to few in order to rise marks.
It seems that Ivan Bratko has a brilliant mind. He is a professor at University of Ljubljana. One of the best programmers of symbolic computation. Described 3 different solutions for my latest project of n-queens. Soon I’m going to describe them all and rewrite in Prolog, but first I need to finish university matters.
The end of the semester is bitter as usual. Few times I managed to don’t care at all and that resulted in no results. The more I tried the more bitter it was when I didn’t get best marks. It would be worth nothing if there wasn’t a rat race at university. In order to get to more interesting lectures you need good marks. In order to get to interesting specialty you need good marks. Works well but it’s worse for your private life and job. I will worry later.

I've written a very long post, but tumblr. sucks and the whole text has gone.
In brief: whole week spent on paperwork and engineering thesis, first I didn't get to any course (to low marks), in the end I attend to the best courses. Together with my friend we broke the system.
Now I am trying to finish reading 2 books: mentioned earlier Ivan Bratko and my professor's Evolution Algorithms. 2 other books are waiting in a queue - both written by the most hated professor of the university.
On the other hand I am trying to finish 2 jobs and get more money for it both in python's django. Did you know: python's getting more popular. Jobs' waitin' fo'me.
Also, I've injured my eyelid during soldering - rosin's burst.
Now, I'm going back to work.

Engineering Thesis
I changed a little bit look of my room.
I've spent a lot of time in an electronic shop and much more money. Until now it's about $175 and it's going to be much more. But it brings me lot of satisfaction to solder and connect circuits. I'm going to code ATMega8 and BTM-222 to obtain 8 bluetooth remotes. It's a part of my engineering thesis and I need to hurry up.
Since I've started to work on it some funny events took place and this is what my friend said about them:
- You need to launch a blog.
Let's get to the story:
I am really terrible when it gets to the electronics. I learnt it and quickly forgot. This is one of the many many reasons why I wanted to work with electronics for my engineering thesis. Recently I've bought soldering machine, called my friend and asked:
- How to get to the solder insinde the machine?
- HAHAHAHAHHAHAAH
On Monday I went to my promoter to ask him for help. Unfortunately he is responsible for the ERASMUS programme at my faculty so he's full of work right now. Therefore he asked his friend to help me. I caught him at the corridor and shortly described what's my problem. When I asked him whether I can use the soldering machine suddenly he stopped and looked at my with big scared eyes.
- Soldering machine? ..... You may die using it
That was one of my very first conversations with him. Later he helped me a lot. If he hadn't helped me with building a cable I would have crushed it without even noticing. He taught me how to assemble it and gave just one quest: to cut it in order to not have long sloppy snake, but elegant accurate cable. I picked up the scissores and tried to cut the cable. Gum was cut very easily, but the copper wires weren't. I tried few more times, raged and teared them out. That guy gave me the same strange look for the second time.
- Give me the scissores, please. First, you need to put a thumb here. Next pointer finger here. The idea is to push thumb and pull pointer, so the blades approaches at the same time.
After a long work we were to go to the electronic shop in an underground bazaar, but he got a call and needed to go home earlier. He asked me to buy some small parts for their lab. I arrived to one of the very few shops with that kind of stuff and made a very very big order.
- I want a holder for a soldering machine..... that one... no... this one. Wait.... are they different? And some pliers, please.... Ok, one pair. And tweezers! One, or many pairs.... Hm.... One. That's all. WAIT! Forgot those parts for professor. Twelve, please. How much for one? $2? Wow, quite a lot. Wait a second I need to call.... Yes, professor? You said the whole shopping will be $6, but it's $20.
- Maybe it's became more expensive, forget about it for now.
- Ok then, see you tomorrow.
- Wait. Where are you is it shop No 21?
- Hm... no, 19.
- Peter, what part of bazaar are you right now?
- I don't know. Nearer the university... Probably.
- Peter, run! Run as quick as you can. It's the most expensive electronic shop in Warsaw.
- Ok, thanks. Bye! ... Mrs, I give up.
- What, those parts?
- No.. everything.
- And my wasted time.
That's shortly how looks my eletronic work with my engineering thesis.
Meantime I also fixed friend's computer.
More posts tomorrow.
Django
I never mentioned about Django project that I and friend of mine are working for a longer time.
There are many factors crucial for a good order for a project - money, quality of the project and good, communicative customer. Usually you can't evaluate project before working on it, unless you are more foreseeing than us. We picked the complexity of the project.
We are working on some kind of multi-shop where best artists upload their projects of fonts. In order to become a seller you need to get an invitation from admins of the shop or you can sign a form and send a link to your portfolio and then they decide whether accept you or not. Obviously anybody may become a customer and buy their product. We need to secure the fonts, but on the other hand prepare previews of all fonts.
That was the best part. The worst is that we do this for a bunch of unprofessional guys that argue with each other and can't say what they want. I don't want to write about it here in more details. The thing is we are too lenient. It is terrible mistake and I want to learn this time to never ever lower the price. It costs me too much.

after a long break
I've a little bit messed up writing posts, but I'm too busy lately to find few minutes for an entry. On the other hand so much happened and is going to happen that I won't make it up if I don't start right now.
I'm going to split posts for the issues I was taking care:
django job, soldering circuits of programmer for ATiny, signing for optional subjects at university, computer books I am currently reading and my perspectives for me becoming an engineer this semester.
At last I have time and energy for my engineering thesis and for some work. I've spent last 2 days buying stuff like breadboard, wires, capacitors, resistors, LEDs and bluetooth module. You can see the first two on the photos. Later I had received Arduino UNO from a friend and today I saw a letter containing many ATiny's microprocessors. That's the strange stuff I'm going to master, but still I have no idea how it works. I'm going to feel like crazy scientist when I connect all this stuff. This is going to bring me a lot of fun. "The game is on!"
For now I need a little break. This is why I took a train to Zakopane and I'm grateful for Polish trains making a great step into civilisation which is electricity in compartments. This enables me to do anything. And I'm going to continue working at two django projects. My plan for a perfect winter holiday: snowboard, Evolution Algorithms book, django, surprising girlfriend!
Alive
Exams finished, now I'm getting back to code. Probably I will disappear again for some rest, but I don't feel like going to stay in crowded, freezing place so maybe I'll just wait for another occasion.
My wall is all covered with plans, I smiled when realized that Sherlock's doing same thing and I'm so ready to begin the Engineering Thesis. Much money will be spend not only in the sake of science ;]

Probably the last sleepless night. Prolog in progress.
Tomorrow at 8 AM there is aal exam and I'm not quite sure if I'm going to attend. I haven't spent a minute studying it. I need to toss a coin to decide.
Last time I didn't mention coding on paper which is very particular way of coding, but it is how the exam looks like.
Summary: 6hrs on paper + 3hrs in terminal
edit: After drinking 2,5l of Tiger (energetic drink) I find similarities in words: urine and taurine. Gross!
Last days spent on reading Ivan Bratko - Prolog Programming for Artificial Intelligence. This is my one of the very last exams and I feel too relieved. Many book examples were followed by my coding, so I didn’t waste too much time.
Summary: 3hrs
Brace yourself, session is coming...
Last days I've also spent without coding. Instead I've been studying for finals and taking care of my university matters. All handled pretty good: Intellectual Property Law (PWI) mark: 4.5, Japanese mark: 5, Engineer Thesis (PDI) also 5. 3 last subjects have left to go.

There are three kinds of lies: lies, damned lies and statistics.
Mark Twain's quote which appeared in one of Heuristic Algorithm's (ALHE) lecture materials. I keep reviewing materials for tomorrow's exam but I am most reluctant right now. The less to do, the less I struggle.
Today I've shown the project (AAL) and I lacked in statistics - somewhere with MB of data the memory was lost and I was much too exhausted to fix it. In the end 29 out of 30.
Still, I've done some small fixes in code.

night shift
So it seems that I'm gonna have sleepless Sunday and Monday again, though I've had a perfect Monday. First and most important - I've received university scholarship in a great amount. Now I'm going to clean out my to-buy-list. Next I've presented results of my Engineering Thesis work. I was nervous at the very beginning, but seeing other people paying attention to my very own project made me inspired so I started to talk and talk, explain my ideas, share my fascination and in fact I didn't stick to presentation very much. It also helped me a little bit of course - I didn't lose my thoughts this time. I think the institute - both proffessors and students were quite excited about my work. At least I hope they were. I also showed them WHAT wushu is. I'm positive about the mark and nervous about further thesis' developments.
My presentation
It ocurred that I need to make more tests for Algorithm Analysis (AAL). Luckily tutor didn't have time today and asked me to come tomorrow in the morning. I also have to prepare a documentation. -.-
Sleepless night begins with hot bath and The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (Män som hatar kvinnor) book.
