to contradict the Geoff anon, I personally find Courtney to be a very enjoyable character, mostly because her worldview is objectively incorrect. she believes in the sanctity of order and organization, and seems to find her calmness stemming from predictability. However, the show, and the universe as we understand it, is unpredictable. Courtney's actions show a great depth of character- she represents the human need for control against a greater fear of the unknown. But the world is working against her, not out of active malicious intent, but out of a series of coincidences and small details that trickle into a larger pond, that being her story. True, you may argue that it was the writer's fault she was derailed- but you'd be missing the bigger picture. Though she is a fictional character, the people who create and determine her actions are not. They put intent and purpose behind her, and intent and purpose can only exist through bias and opinion, which is influenced by experience- and experience is driven by a lifetime of coincidences and unpredictable circumstances. Geoff anon is also quite like this, though in the opposite direction. They strive to cause chaos rather than order, but the universe is not bendable and nothing lasts forever.

ok genuinely this is very well written and very truthful, courtney is a super enjoyable character for me. the way she wants order and predictability in a show that is wacky and where things happen for no good reason… geoff anon exists to cause suffering and pain and bring malice to the total drama community and it will tear us all apart(/j)
