You using sign language is cultural appropriation. You're taking something from Deaf people, people who have beautiful culture and language and butchering it.

As a CODA (child of deaf adult) I strongly disagree with this. They enjoy others knowing their language. The only thing that is ever an issue is when you try to immerse yourself as a part of deaf culture if you're a hearing person. They're proud of being deaf, and they see that that's what separates them from the rest of society in a positive manner. Just know they're culture and don't impose on it, and have fun signing.
