On Politics - Why The Republicans Lost

It has been fun watching the Republican orgy of self-flagellation that has been going on since this past Tuesday evening. Couldn't have happened to a "nicer" bunch of folks.

Watching the Republicans blame everything and everyone, from a hurricane to the campaign headquarters caterers for their electoral fuck up has been fun but, in the sober light of day, the real reasons the Republicans failed are these:

their economic policies have been proven not to work

their social policies create too many hardships for too many people

they don't understand, at a practical level, what it means to be an ordinary American

they didn't have Barack Obama
