(Teens) Melissa smiled as she was on the cheerleading team at Beacon Hills, as she was practicing her cheering with the squad she seen out in the hallway it's was Chris Argent. She continued to cheer and seen a few of his friends come in.
It was a typical Friday- everyone was hyped for the football game later that evening against their rivals, so everyone had to be in top form. Even the cheerleaders were practicing their routine. Which was how Chris ended up in the gym in the first place. A few of his friends had wanted to watch their girlfriends practice and he'd been dragged along. Catching Melissa's eye, he sent her a wave.
The Reserve was quiet- enough so that the nightly rounds Chris tended to make were almost relaxed. Of course, it wasnât enough for him not to keep his guard up. That would be stupid. As he neared the remains of the old Hale house, something made the hair on the back of his neck stand up. Easing the gun out of its holster, the hunter did a careful survey of the area immediately around him before heading in the direction of the house.
Everything appeared as it should have been, but that still wasnât quite right. When the porch came into view, Chris froze, gun trained in the direction of footfall.
Lucas had climbed the porch that fronted the burned-out shell, tears already in his eyes as he mounted the steps. The smell of rotten and burned timber was thick in his nose, and the peeling paint was covered in places by the remains of yellow police tape. He wondered silently if it was tape from the night the place had burned, or from something more recent.
He laid a hand against the front door and leaned his forehead just above it, feeling the roughness of the ruined paint and closing his eyes for a moment, listening to the emptiness of the silenced house.
The noise stopped as he rounded from the back of the house, but he knew that whoever it was hadn't just gone away. Pausing briefly, he took a steady breath, coming around the corner and his gun hoisted up and aimed at..someone he wasn't familiar with. Not just some kid who happened to be wandering around. This one knew where he was going- was intent upon the house, the way that the hand touched the burned-out carcass of the home with almost-reverence.
"A little late to be out for a walk, don't you think? Mind telling me what you're doing here?" Chris wasn't stupid; he knew not to let his guard down, though he did lower the gun a bit. Something in the back of his mind was screaming werewolf. Out of everything that had happened, they seemed to be crawling out of the woodwork lately. That wasn't a surprise, though he wasn't impressed. As far as any of them were concerned, outside wolves posed a threat.
She showed a mischievous smile, just as one that should be expected from her. The arms crossed and she bit her lip, wishing he would have showed a better reaction than just the stare he was giving her. âââChris, why the long face? No tears for your long lost sister? Come on, I deserve a better expression than one of pure shock or even ..drawing a blank you seem to be. Thatâs just rude.âÂ
Honestly, the last thing-- the very last thing-- that Chris ever expected was to see his sister back from the dead. It was more than a bit concerning, considering she had been buried. This had to be some sort of trick or hallucination. Squeezing his eyes shut hadn't helped diminish the fact that she was standing right there. There were a million questions at the forefront of his mind. Why you? How? Is anyone else back? No. No one could afford any of those answers right now. It made things far too complicated.
"You'll have to forgive me for being a little shocked. The last time I saw you, they were lowering you into the ground."
€
"What is this Chris, a new interrogation technique?"Â
"That depends on whether it was a tactic that worked or not."
"Weâll save him. I know we will." Dean would have promised but that was one promise he couldnât make. At least a bit of false hope was neough to keep them going.
"Thanks, Chris. I bet your place is better than any run-down motel room, anyway. And I donât blame you. But I did hear about Kate and Iâm sorry. I ainât gonna lie, thoughâshe was riding the crazy train."
"I'd like to think that we can. If it comes down to getting rid of it or saving Stiles, then we'll have to face that when we get there." Chris had thought about that option quite a few times while on the search for the Winchesters; it went against their Code, but not doing anything would, as well. They were in a tight spot.
"Actually, it's just Allison and I now. Gerard is in a home, so he may as well be dead." For as many problems as his family had with werewolves, things had taken a turn. "Kate went against the Code and paid for it."
"So, youâd murder an innocent boy? Donât you have some C O D E, dear hunter?" The demon cooed, "Seems a shame your last shred of humanity might die with this boy."Â
"We have a Code, yes. Unfortunately for Stiles, you being in his head doesn't coincide with the Code. One sacrifice for the sake of others seems like a safer bet to me."

The fox cocked his head to the side, and his dark roaming over Chris Argent slowly. He certainly could see the appeal, though the Nogitsune was annoyed deeply by all these unnecessary thoughts rummaging through his head. âYou amuse me.â He admitted thoughtfully, drifting his long, slender fingers over the edge of Chrisâs desk chair, flickering his eyes back up to peer at the hunterâs face, expression otherwise devoid of emotion. âIt also amuses me how easily youâd shoot dear olâ Stiles.â
The fox smiled lazily, and kept gradually circling Chris at a slow pace. âPut a bullet through âickle Stilinskiâs head. Make all his pain go away.â He rasped his knuckles against his temple, lowering his dark eyes with a soft smirk. âOh yes, you would do it, wonât you? Without a secondâs thought. To try and silence me, youâd kill this innocent teenager. Very.. very amusing.â
"I can't say that the same sentiment applies to me." He continued watching Stiles warily- the Nogitsune moved too confidently in the skin of a teenager. Everything about it was wrong. Chris inclined his head at the insinuation, but couldn't really argue. He would shoot Stiles if it meant getting rid of the thing inside of him. It went against their Code, but one life in exchange for an entire town? It was a grim decision that would ultimately- and probably- be down to him. "I would feel guilty for putting Stiles down; but not you. I could never find it in myself to feel sympathy for a creature that strives on the misfortune of others. Now that? Perfectly within the grey-area of our Code."
Innocence was all a matter of perspective. The Nogitsune had killed people while using Stiles as a shell. He couldn't stop it, but that didn't mean that the problem would go away. The kid would still have those lives wearing on his mind. "It's things like you that ensure that I'm kept in business."
"I didnât say there was nothing we could do,â Dean corrected him. âThereâs just not a lot. If things go our way, the only person dying is the Nogitsune and not the kid heâs possessing.â The last thing Dean wanted to do is kill an innocent teenager. He didnât know who this kid was or how young he was, but he was young enough.
"Well, lucky for you, I owe you. You know, for savinâ me and my dad the last time we saw each other. I ainât leavinâ Beacon Hills until that Nogitsune is goneâfor good."
"At this point, any option is worth looking into. This kid-- he's friends with Allison. Not to mention a truce at stake." At the moment, his deal with Scott didn't need to be brought up. It wasn't important, and as far as Chris was concerned, the pack in Beacon Hills wasn't any sort of threat. If it were, well, he knew how to fix that.
"You're welcome to stay with Allison and I. There's a free bedroom for however long you need to stay. I appreciate your help, Dean. To be honest, I don't trust my own family with this."

"Well, yeah, sure, but not Nogtisune possession. Those suckers are rare. Very. Iâve only read and heard about âem, but Iâve never seen one. I just know that theyâre ugly bastards with a sick sense of humor.â
"And hard to kill. Iâm guessinâ an excorcism spell wonât work on one. Neither will my knife. Theyâre not like regular demons. These guys areâŠtheyâre almost like deities in the Japanese culture. Theyâre stronger and bigger and they last longer. Theyâre trickster spiritsâyou know, like Loki, but worse.â
"So you're saying there is absolutely nothing that we can do to get rid of this thing? I'm not willing to believe that-- but if killing this kid is what it takes to stall it, I'll do what I have to." Chris really didn't want it to get that far. Stiles was innocent in all of this, merely vulnerable to its power. There were more than a few that would come after him if any sort of harm befell the teen.
"Everything that's happened the past few weeks has been a testament to just how twisted a sense of humor it has. We know it feeds on chaos and strife. This thing has killed people and nearly killed a handful more. So you can see that this can't go unchecked for much longer."
"Oh yeah? What happens when you lose patience?" The question seemed to be rhetorical as Stiles leapt right into the explanation of his âmess of papersâ (which excuse you were actually a very specific order or disorder which only appearered as a mess to those who simply couldnât fathom the brilliance of their method of organization) though he spoke too quickly to actually follow. "Capisce?"
"Personally, I don't think you want me to get to the point of losing my patience." He let the kid continue- if only because he couldn't get a word in edgewise. The disorganized clutter strewn about the room wasn't in any sort of order that he could see. "Stiles. This is me asking nicely."
âToo bad you canât retire.â The demon retorted with a sideways glance to the old hunter, âWow, how veryâŠ.honorable of you. Hurting an innocent kid. They wonât like you anymore. Not that they liked you in the first place.âÂ
"That's exactly why I don't plan on going into retirement anytime soon." He eyed Stiles- no, that thing wasn't Stiles anymore. Just another monster to take down. "If taking down a teenager is what it takes to keep everyone else safe and get rid of you, then that's what I'm going to have to live with. Comes with the territory."
