obligatory intro post that i'm finally getting around to doing go!
I'm CoffBeanie and I am an internet (fan)artist and writer! The main project that I am currently working on is:
Living and Waking
My main interests include:
Creepypasta
Ninjago
DC Comics
Miraculous Ladybug
While I may post about other things, most of my art and writing revolves around those main four! I'm also slowly dripping in some of my original stuff into my main fanart posts oops
Also HEAVY reblogger-loooveee just pressing that button for things I like
Important things to note!
I'm 20 as of writing this, and while I don't typically draw or reblog extremely NSFW things, I'll at most have suggestive or gory content on my blog.
Also DNI if you're racist, homophobic, transphobic, etc. if you're an asshole and can't be respectful of others than fuck off
Main tags are
#my art just for my art
#coffbeanie thinks!! just my random thoughts/rambles
#coffbeanie answers!! where I answer any questions I may happen to receive in my inbox
Everything above this is general blog stuff, should you wish to read about my current original and fans projects continue on below
Living and Waking
Living and Waking is my original graphic novel project involving my main character Sylvia and Nightmare. I mainly post art here as I work on the script in my free time (I hope to find a way for my school to pay me to work on this over the summer teehee)
I also write short stories involving the characters within the story, but as I am attempting to get those published, they will most likely never make it onto this blog (unless they get rejected enough times) since most journals only accept unpublished works, a lot of them including previously posted onto blogs/other websites as previously published.
The Mansion Creepypasta AU
The Mansion is my creepypasta comic project that is meant to serve as an origin story for the mansion, and how everyone's favs came to live there. It involves my OCs (kinda...in a sense) as well my own interpretations of popular creepypasta characters. As of writing this I have the first chapter done! I just need to work up the energy to post it oops
OCs
Tim Sullivan
Brian Hall
Ninjago AU/Rewrite
I'm never sure if I should call this an au or a rewrite because it's kind of a rewrite? Since I have the power of hindsight I can make changes to the lore early on so everything flows a bit more coherently, and I'm hoping to make the character development more consistent for everyone, but it's not just a direct rewrite since I'm also including my OCs, and altering the lore so they can fit in, which is why I call it an AU (if we're being honest, I tentatively refer to this as the Balance AU, since it's the most central theme)
OCs
Mae Borne: Elemental Master of Spring
Rayna Sol: Elemental Master of Summer
Cedar Niebla: Elemental Master of Autumn
Wren Hail: Elemental Master of Winter
Sensei Miyo*: Former Elemental Master of Life
Kiran Mishra*: Elemental Master of Dust
Volkan Tiryaki*: Elemental Master of Magma
*these OCS are kinda wip so i might come back here and change their names oops
Batman 1966 Moll Rewrite Project
The Batman 1966 television series was my favorite growing up and it is still a piece of Batman media that I return to time and time again, and characters I've especially begun to notice were the molls, or the one off henchwomen that would appear in every episode.
Most of these characters haven't appeared outside of the 1-2 episodes they were in, so I've always wondered what happened to them after the fact. This little project is meant to answer that question!
The list of characters I'm going to rewrite is too long to list here, so for people curious about the characters I've redesigned so far, just check under my #batman1966 tag
MLB x DC Au
This AU is my attempt at the multiple Miraculous Ladybug x Batfam crossovers. Marinette has a short stint as Robin after the mysterious disappearance of her parents, but once all her friends at involved in freak accidents, she quits the mantle out of guilt. Now grown up, Marinette is witness to the rise of a brand new group of villains, and a new vigilante allied with Batman to discover who is behind this new group of rogues.
(Lets be honest this is a glorified Miraculous Ladybug but if they were grownups and were Americans and they also live in Gotham for some reason)
Misc
I have a main DC OC, Charade, or Carmen Cortez! I've only recently started posting her but I love her lots! Hope to post more of her soon.
I'm making Miraculous Ladybug OCs based off Western Zodiacs! I don't plan on making any comics with them they're just designs for fun
I also have a Marble Hornets x Phantom of the Opera AU! I draw for it from time to time because for some reason I can't draw normal Brim I can only do it if Brian is in a suit and Tim has some kind of lace.
That's all I have for now! This may be updated in the future as I make more content or to add specific tags or links. Thats all for now!
ermm hello i return with a lil ninjago thingy!! he’s a lil ref of my design for cole (prior to his redesign) just for meeeee lol i do this with lilke every character before i draw a proper piece just to get a handle on their design nothing newww
erm some design notes ig i love giving cole v kind eyes?? idk bro can look angry and pissed as hell but his eyes are so sweet methinks. Also I feel like early one he was def more on the chubbier side. He gets some more muscle tone later on. Also he’s mixed indian and mexican, indian cause i was inspired by a lot of the south asian hcs i saw for him (feel like we got more of these after his fortnite design was revealed) and mexican cause i’ve always hc him as mexican because of meeeee
Erm i remember i was looking up surnames for him and i had Bermudez and Barros listed so like i dont know what his surname will be yet lol (still gonna tag this under brookestone tho!!)
guys in the new secret protocol teaser we see ladybug calling on chat noir and carapace, both of who we see in the trailer, but she spins the hero icons AGAIN even after selecting the two of them meaning she may call on another hero which means we may get ROOSTER BOLD- *gets sent off to the asylum before i can finish my thought*
i feel terrible everytime i think about how much baby harumi would have looked up to the green ninja if her parents hadn't died that day, and lloyd would've felt so many mixed feelings when meeting an innocent little girl while knowing what she will do in the future. But lloyd being lloyd would still do his best to be a hero and save the day.
On the other hand baby lloyd would fight the quiet one.
Strange racists and homophobes on the internet seem to have access to an alternate way cooler version of TV than me. "every white character on TV is in an interracial relationship" "every show has a gay couple in it" "main characters keep having to secretly be bisexual and nonbinary" "every show has gratuitous full frontal nudity" like damn promise?? What channel???
for real though, those DO NOT WATCH OR YOU'LL CORRUPT YOUR CHILDREN lists put out by conservative christian family groups is where I find all the stellar tv shows. Like, shit I didn't know half of those existed, thanks for finding them for me, gonna go watch 30 hours of gay tv now!
For personal context, before I went to the '98 Burning Man festival, one of the things I'd read from a couple different journalists was that "everybody" runs around naked. Which, fine by me, I'd already spent a lot of time in clothing-optional spaces, I'm not fanatic about it but it's nice.
So I got there early and set up a public shade structure on one of Black Rock City's main roads and spent most of each afternoon just watching the crowds go by. I don't remember seeing more than one actually naked person the whole week. I think a topless woman passed by my intersection maybe every half an hour, sometimes once an hour. So why in the hell were people, normally pretty smart and observant writers, coming away with the impression that everybody was naked?
Then I remembered an unrelated passage from Joel Garreau's great book about the history of the outer-ring suburbs, Edge City. Mall developers told him flat-out that they tried to keep the crowds in their malls less than 5% black. Not because they themselves were racist, but because they had determined, experimentally, that if more than 5% of the people in the mall are black, the median white shopper will wrongly describe the mall as at least half black, as mostly black. And not a few of them would describe it, at 6% black, as a mall where "only black people go." Why?
Because, emotionally, they were still upset over the last one when the next one came into view.
Same as the journalists describing Black Rock City as all naked. Same as the right-wing religious culture warriors describing television as entirely mixed-race and gender non-conforming. Not because it's even vaguely true, we know that, but because they haven't gotten over their discomfort over the last one by the time the next one comes along. The anger, not the stimulus, is the part that's continuous, so their mind lies to them that it's "all" the thing they can't get over.
