Meeting with a PR agency. One of our T-shirts from the 17 F/W collection will be featured on a street style magazine. Discussed about how and where to promote our brand with a small budget. Need edgy designs to get noticed, but difficult when we are trying to bring our collection back to the original “made in japan” (=good quality) “heritage” (=we started as a fabric mill) “simple design” (=mainly button down shirts) kind of direction.

Copywriting to introduce an up-and-coming LA graphic T-shirts brand to a big retail store in Japan. It didn’t make any sense when i directly translated the brand’s About section of their website, and theres barely any info on the internet. And not to forget that i don’t know how to sound “cool” in Japanese. Need to read more Japanese mens streetstyle magazines. My colleague’s advice- put in words like 「LA」「スケーター」「クルー」「ストリートカルチャー」and reference to brands like Supreme if the designers have experience there. Noted.
Here’s to a diary of a Japanese girl entering the fashion industry at age 27.

Practiced writing a sales pitch for a product. It was a henley neck with an interesting braided rib, made with cotton and a bit of polyester which makes it extra comfortable for the skin, and more durable than 100% cotton. Turns out I failed to notice the “88/12″ detail (also known as 「ワンツー」”one two” or 「ハチハチ」”eight eight”)- a reference to the sports brand Champion when they made their shirts with this ratio of cotton and polyester in the 70′s and 80′s. Man, I’ve got a whole lot to learn.
Photo shooting for the 17SS collection that will be sold online soon. Cut all the tags so that we can do a photo lay of each product front and back. Items to be laid flat but not completely flat, a little bit airy and scrunched up to make it look more appealing. Re-tagged all items, wrapping the string around the 2nd button of all the shirts twice.

Everyone has one common goal in life: to achieve true happiness. The biggest factor holding us back from achieving our dreams is, simply and sadly, our own selves.
