Blue Agave
The blue agave plant is actually a member of the lilly family, it is commonly mistaken for being part of the cacti family, which even up until recently was a belief held by myself.
There’s more to agave than tequila and mezcal. Sotol, bacanora and raicilla are increasingly showing up in New York bars and restaurants, and not just Mexican ones.
Looks like tequila and mezcal have some new competition out there. Exciting to see some more diversity coming through with that beautiful agave taste we know and love.
What’s the OriGin?
