Hades gets a bad rap far to often compared to how wholesome he really is. The flame on his candle was moving a lot so I asked if there was something he needed to tell me. Nope. Just wanted to say hi and remind me hes there. Means a lot because I know he must be struggling right now since Persephone just had to leave. Glad I get to work with him.
Baby Helenic Post: ❤💕Do The Gods Love Us?💕❤
Since I started worshipping Aphrodite, I've felt really insecure because most of the time I dont understand how a Divine Being like a God would pay attention, or even LOVE a human being who isnt... well. Exceptional.
Yet, my practice first started because I FELT Aphrodites love for me when I was browsing through a tumblr blog/shrine to her... and, from what I hear, this is similar to how a lot if people get drawn to the Gods.
This experience was a while ago, and since, I haven't felt that large, intense feeling of Aphrodites love.... and it has made me scared. I've tried to do more for her to make up for it. More time. More research, more offerings... but still. Nothing. It's made me doubt if she loved me at all... But over time I've come to realize, that just like normal people,
GODS HAVE BOUNDARIES.
Just like in regular relationships, you need to give Gods appropriate space, and know that they still love you, even if they arent able to answer your every call.
From what I've learned from other followers, and myths, the Gods arent omnipresent? Aka be able to be everywhere at once???
And unlike the Christian God, our relationships with the Gods function more like a very respectful Mentorship(depending on the person)/Friendship/caretaker/older sibling kinda situation.
You wouldnt expect them to come at your every call right? Not to mention
LOVE DOESNT CHANGE BECAUSE OF ABSENSE OR YOUR INSECURITY.
They may just be busy, or want you to understand the above on your own! Honestly, the whole God communication thing is confusing enough as it is... Dont beat yourself up about it either! Your relationship and understanding of the Gods is growing! Thats a good thing~
🌱🥰🌱
I hope this was helpful to some of you??? It just hit me like a freight train today...
Let me know if any similar epiphanies you guys have had related to this!!
Question for Paganblr
(Anyone can answer, though!)
Do the Gods/Goddesses you are devoted to experience divine love for their followers?
How would you describe their love (or indifference) towards humanity?
If you have applicable experience, how would you compare this love to the kind associated with the Christian God? Are there notable similarities or differences?
Thanks for your time! 🙌
(Please keep this post civil, it’s strictly a discussion post for the sake of curiosity and not bait!)
so from what ive learned, Gods can’t experience love in the way humans do, however i do believe that the Gods I worship feel whatever the Divine version of love is.
They want the best for Their followers, they encourage self love, they typically do not cause harm, they are not malicious. I think or feel that They are fascinated with humans, and want the best for them, but might not understand human nature, and may get frustrated. but again, there is no malice.
i grew up in 2 parts of christianity, and honestly do bot know much about them. but in one of these churches, i was told god loved everyone equally, as a child of his, and everyone would go to heaven regardless of life on earth. the other was basically the exact opposite. i think the love described in christian religion is very human, but also divine because of how much love there is able to be, where as with the Gods i worship, their love is distinctly different than human love. neither is bad!!! just how i view things.
It’s spring!! Which means
Apollo and Persephone are back to Earth!!
Persephone Devotional Acts
I saw how much everyone loved my Haides devotional acts post, so here’s another one for the ever-so-lovely Persephone! She has been in my life for a very long time, and I believe that She was one of the first Gods I really connected with. I consider myself to be a true devotee to Her, and She has always been there for me. Remember, all of these acts are what She has responded to positively with me, but everyone’s practice is different!
Stop to smell the flowers–literally!
Pair lace and leather together–she loves this!
This is similar to the Haides act to devoting an outfit to Him. Maybe I’ll make a “Wardrobe Devotion” post if anyone likes the idea? Please comment if you would enjoy a post on it!
Wear pomegranate scented things–perfume, lotion, lip gloss, etc.!
Tend to wild plants if they need care (here in the Midwest, I’ll take water out to the wildflowers if we have a drought)
Go barefoot more often and feel the way the ground feels on your bare feet
Support local farmers and beekeepers
Honor the deaths of animals and if you can, bury them or leave them in a place where nature will care for them
Buy yourself a nice bouquet of flowers, or make your own!
Place flowers on barren graves
Spread seeds of native flowers on the sides of highways or other unincorporated places (be sure to check local laws on this, I know for my we work to preserve prairie flowers and they get planted in grassy knolls by highways and interstates!)
Wear something fancy when you feel like it–make yourself feel like the royalty you are!
Offer her fruits/nuts. I do this by burying a portion of my meal after I devote it to Her.
Listen to music that reminds you of Her.
Side note: I’m definitely going to have to make some playlist posts
Wear a flower crown. No, really. One of my friends has a set that is exclusively dedicated to each of the Gods, and they wholeheartedly adore it.
Collect crystals like rose quartz, garnet, citrine, green tourmaline, and topaz
Rose quartz is a go-to stone for me for many Gods, Persephone being one of the many
She really digs topaz and the tourmaline in my experience
Love yourself, of course, just as She loves you
And many, many more!
As always, message or ask me for any questions! I promise I don’t bite and I love answering questions. Stay tuned for more devotional act posts and some playlist posts!
Haides Devotional Activities
A beginner’s list for all you sweet baby Hellenics (or even experienced ones!). When I first discovered my connection with Haides, it was before tumblr and I was really unsure of what to do in terms of devotion that wasn’t praying. So without further ado, have some nice devotional acts!
Visit a cemetery or a graveyard and simply walk around, appreciating and respecting those who have left the earth
Also in regard to this, you can clean off headstones that are dirty or obstructed as well as place fresh flowers on empty graves. I’ve noticed He greatly appreciates this, in my experience.
Wear more metal and use crystals/rocks/minerals (just covering my bases) like obsidian, smokey quartz, and nephrite jade
Support charities that assist suicidal individuals and who assist the family members of deceased people
Support local business, even if it’s a small purchase
Eat more chocolate and use more vinegar (if possible)
Go out in search of bones and other oddities of nature (I have a slew of bones I’ve found and cleaned in my altar, just check local laws in terms of certain animals)
Keep a small garden. I know this one sound a bit odd, but I noticed how much patience it taught me and how I connected with Haides and Persephone. Haides also like flowers (in my experience, roses and daisies).
Spend time with dogs! Be they your own or otherwise! Sometimes devoting a nice game of fetch or a good long walk to Him is a great way to unwind (and for someone with depression who sometimes has problems getting out of the house, this is a really good activity)
Listen to music that makes you think of Him. I have a devotional playlist for all of the Gods, and if it’s requested/wanted maybe I’ll make a series of posts for my playlists
Wear darker colors–a nice simple one, I’ll devote my outfit to Him before putting it on and then pray once it’s on
Save spare change
Save up for a big spend that’s indulgent to you (I’ve been saving up for a tattoo I’m getting later this week!)
LOVE YOURSELF! This goes without saying, but it’s important no matter the deity!
And many, many more!
These are all just what I’ve observed in my experience, but everyone is different! Venture out and do what feels right to you!

hello. i made another quiz. it is spring, these days. we are looking to move forward. let me give you something you might need.
Just frogs
So with the CPAC stage the Republicans are just openly Nazis now, huh.
And to be clear, the version of the Odal Rune used here is EXCLUSIVELY a Nazi one. The original rune lacks the serifs on the bottom.
(As an aside, if you ever see the serif version of the rune with some actual Norse pagans, you found the groups to avoid!)
But it's not great that one of our two major parties is driving super hard into blatant nationalism and Nazism.
This is so dangerous.
Edited to add: The sans serif version is ALSO used by Nazis, but just not exclusively by them. The version with serifs we see in the stage design though is only used by Nazis

How I celebrate Imbolc as a Hellenic witch🌻🌼💐
This is my fifth year celebrating the Sabbats! For me, Imbolc is the time to honor Hestia, goddess of the hearth and home, and the time of year when Apollo puts the sun on full brightness and Persephone is reunited with Demeter. If you’re in the broom closet like me, you probably can’t set up a lavish altar but you can do a number of small things throughout Imbolc!
💐Plant flowers
☕Prepare food for family and friends(it can be something as simple as tea and a plate of Girl Scout cookies)
🔥Light a candle if you’re able to or watch a crackling fire simulator on Youtube to honor Hestia
🌼Cleanse your home and/or someplace special to you
🌄Watch the sunrise/sunset and listen to lyre music to honor Apollo
🎶Listen to lyre music to thank Apollo for the sunlight
🍇Eat pomegranates to honor Persephone
🌻🌼💐
☀️ Small ways I honor Apollo day to day ☀️
Taking my vitamins and meds
Leaving the windows and blinds open as much as possible to let in the sunlight
Carrying a pocket first-aid kit
Listening to music almost constantly
Attending therapy n being kind to myself
Singing unabashedly
Painting my nails yellow
Educating myself and supporting the lgbt community, showing my pride
Drawing and making art for the sake of art (something I’ve learned from Apollo, instead of being a perfectionist)
Taking moments to bask in the suns warmth
Apollo shows his presence and love in many ways.
He’s a hand on my shoulder, helping me pick myself up off the ground in a depressive episode.
He’s the light streaming through my blinds, motivating me to get up even though it’s hard
He’s the sudden burst of energy and joy when several of my favourite songs play consistently on shuffle
He’s the warmth that spreads through my chest to my whole body as I bask in his light
He is the blooming sense of pride when I push myself out of my comfort zone
He is small blessings, lucky happenings and coincidences that occur just when I need them
He is acceptance. He is love. He is strength. He is a dear friend.
