About the "Easy" scene in season 2....(I forgot this was in my drafts for a while)
This post is sbout my opinions plus my responses to the easy scene in season 2 mostly regarding the backlash of the "Easy" scene received and why i think the hate the song/scene is receiving is sorta unnecessary.
I totally forgot this post was in my notes' app, so I'm a little late, but my opinion on it hasn't really changed, so I'm posting it anyway....
Here we go! Here are my opinions/replies to the type of different comments I've seen from others about the "easy scene":
•"They LIED about chaggi(e) getting a sex scene."
They DID get a sex scene just not in the way most people were hoping...some of you got your hopes up way to high after arcane.
Why are people crashing out so hard over the fact that they didn't get to see an actual WLW porn scene? Charlie and vaggi got a metaphorical "devil's tango" scene that added a layer of softness and privacy to their relationship. They aren't really affectionate or known for PDA in public in the show, so why would so many of you expect to see every single detail of their bedroom life?
And did the creators really say anything about a "sex scene" i thought the used the term "sexy duet" or "spicy duet"
And for ppl complaining it wasn't "spicy" enough, it was plenty spicy in its OWN way. Sexy/spicy doesn't mean it HAS to be "explicit" or "graphic". Every couple has their own kind of "spicy" in their relationship, and it can be shown in subtle, soft, or otherwise intense ways if the couple prefers. The whole concept of "spicy/sexy" is subjective.
Look closer, and you will see the positions and moves they are doing in bed while the dance sequence is happening. Try looking at things deeper.
• "Vaggi FORCED Charlie to have sex, and she didn't care about Charlie's meltdown / Vaggie started singing out of nowhere."
Vaggi obviously did care, and they DID have a conversation, but a lot of times having sex is also a much-needed emotional reset and stress reliever for couples. And Charlie wasn't just venting. She was in a downward SPIRAL and vaggi had to distract her in the best way she knew how and fast, because if Charlie had continued ranting, it would've just led to more bad emotions and Charlie's anger would've divided her and vaggi even further apart, creating even more issues in the long run
•"Why was this scene "sugar-coated" and "censored" compared to the scenes in poision and helluva boss?"
The chaggi(e) scene was a genuine moment between two lovers, while the poision scene was *supposed* to be graphic and explicit to make the viewers uncomfortable to show the violence and horror of the sex industry (and when the fuck is sexual assault/r@pe considered "sex" anyway?) and as for the stolitzs scenes in helluva boss we don't really SEE any actual sex it overexaggerated for comedy effect because each time sex was implied between the two it was purely transactional
•"I hate them for having had this moment while Angel was being tortured."
So what? Charlie and Vaggi shouldn't be allowed to have private and fun times as a couple just because Angel and other people have problems going on in their lives? This scene was before they even knew Angel was in trouble. They both needed this time for themselves to relax and de-stress after everything they'd been through.
I found the scene to be beautifully clever, and I think one of the main reasons a lot of people are hating on it so hard is because it was one of the few WLW scenes that really wasn't catered towards audiences like the straight male gaze and i appreciate how the people who made it wasn't treating it like a porn category it was honestly refreshing to me, and it's sad and kinds frustrating that people can't appreciate a scene like this without fetishizing it or over- sexualizing it (yes it is possible to OVER sexualize a sex scene🙄) and as for those of you that are mad or disappointed, it wasn't "graphic" or "explicit enough." If you are THAT damn thirsty to actually SEE sex, go visit a website or go look at some freaky ass fanart/fanfic, because god forbid you can't get yourselves off to some pixels. Why can't sapphic moments like this ever just peacefully exist without creeps/gooners getting their perviness all over it? STOP reducing WLW to a porn category. And keep in mind the genre "Adult cartoon" does NOT mean PORN. Go to R34 if you are that damn desperate to see two characters get busy with each other. Learn to control yourselves or cry about it. You didn't get to see two ladies literally fuck on your screen in this show. I'm sure you will live.
Seriously, some of you need to get ahold of yourselves. I've seen so many of the same people make over 100+ comments on platforms about how the show "lied about the chaggi scene" or "they are really upset they didn't get to actually see anything." Or "they hope Charlie and vaggi will get a more explicit scene in the future of the show"
stop fetishizing/sexualizing LGBTQ+ all together.
