It’s me! This is more or less what I look like.

It’s a bit anime-ish admittedly, but I do gave naturally large eyes and very prominent eyelashes. I bet you can imagine what kind of crap that’s caught me over the years. As an aside, my parents like most did frequently tell me ‘if you keep frowning it will get stuck that way’. Well guess what mum you were RIGHT.

Hey look I finally remembered to finish something!

So yeah it’s Schmidt, who is really not fond of the name.

I tried a couple of new effects this time while coloring to make certain things pop out a bit more and I’m reasonably happy with the results. Shoes now replace hands as the bane of my life. Let’s see how long that lasts.

A quick one hour sketch of Schmidt getting severely pissed off. Tried to get that leaning forward post, which I think will come out a bit more when/if I color it. Don’t get to do angry or pissed off expressions much, but I think it worked out pretty well. I’m also happy with how the legs came out in particular.

A (relatively) quick cast sketch. Some of those present I’ve already finished character designs for that are more or less set in stone. Two two on the other edges are semi-finished but I’m trying to figure out specific details.

It’s been a while!

I finally got some time and inspiration in the same spot. I’ve been wanting to draw this posing for a while but haven’t ever quite managed to get it looking relatively clean. I thought I’d show off a kind of overlay to show what my sketching looks like versus the cleaner end-lines. Very sketchy.

Featuring the characters Higur and Hein, power duo extraordinaire!

Yet again I come to 4am and find myself drawing. Ended up being inspired by Broadway Hamilton again. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z1NmdB_kXO8 Leslie Odom Jr is now headcanon voice claim for Higur.

I didn’t have time to finish more, but I thought it’d also be neat to show what I start off with as far as posing on the right, compared to what I end up with on the left.  Also tried a new method for drawing Higur’s legs, which worked out okay. It got the correct forward tilt I was looking for in part.

I’ll be able to finish this and put out more art than I have been in the next couple of weeks, stay tuned!

Item(s): Character Design Concept and Color Palate (Lined vs Color only.)

Status: 4/5′s Finished. Deciding which style I like better.

Description: Character design art for the character I’m calling ‘Lisbel’ for the moment. Was something like the third character I initially sketched out. I admittedly have a harder time drawing ladies then men. End up having to do a lot more edited of proportions after the initial sketches. I’ve tried to do this particular pose several times, and I think I’m getting better at it. Another point of this was to try and develop an individual color palate as opposed to Higur. One thing that’s become apparent to me the more I’ve drawn Lisbel is that she’s not going to be thin as a stick by any means.

A rough sketch of a comic. Experimenting with character posing in relation to borders and text bubbles. Been looking into arrangements for naturally drawing the viewer’s eye along the page. Here the attempt is to draw the eye in a reverse S-shape line.

As for actual story, this is a possible scene in the later arc of the story, looking back on the beginning. Doesn’t have any spoilers, so it works well for a flashback.

Status: 7/8′s Finished. Line smoothing and color correction to-be-done.

Description: Concept art for one of the main character’s for the webcomic, named ‘Higur’. One of the first characters created, back when the idea was still at the random doodling stage. Though he has changed quite a bit over time, two defining characteristic have remained the same: he dresses snappy, and has more joints in his legs than humans. Currently they are modeled after goats, but have been grasshopper-designed in the past. Ultimately that looked too weird on a human-esque body for my tastes.
