hey folks, i'm taking a little break from asoiaf rp, a little because my favourite fandom went quiet, a little because my muse is suffering and i can't get my thoughts straight, and primarily because i have been approached for a permanent role in my job and i have a LOT of work (paperwork, operations manual, negotiations and contracts) to do regarding me taking over. i'm def still here / not logged out — don't be surprised if you see me randomly posting or sending/repling to memes — and i'm also still on discord, so feel free to hmu if you want to 🙏🏾

Aegon received her words in silence at first, his violet gaze fixed upon the woman who named herself Perichá of Leng. There was no tremor in her voice, no faltering before the shadow of Balerion, whose massive form loomed beyond them, his dark scales glinting faintly with the restless shift of wings. Few in Westeros had looked upon the Black Dread without blanching; this one merely inclined her head, her ornaments chiming like the soft warning of distant bells. It did not escape Aegon’s notice.
When the scrolls were placed before him, he reached to take them, the emerald script of Leng and the familiar cadences of High Valyrian side by side. Such courtesy was no trifling matter; she had taken care to address him in the tongue of his forebears. The carved box was opened, and the stones within caught the light, each shimmering like a fragment of some distant sky. The conqueror’s face, stern as ever, betrayed little, yet inwardly he marked the significance. Symbols mattered; power was built as much upon them as upon steel and flame.
“You honor me, Lady Perichá,” Aegon said at last, his voice deep, measured, the weight of command behind every word. “Your God-Empress shows wisdom in seeking amity, and I do not scorn such foresight. Know that Westeros is now one realm, and I its king. Yet I do not forget that beyond these shores lie powers and sovereignties older than the walls of Oldtown or the hills of Valyria itself.” His eyes lingered upon hers, steady. “Your voyage is welcome, and your gifts shall be remembered. Your arrival came unprepared for a proper reception but I request you remain here for a few days at least. A feast shall be held in your honor.”
Then, as his gaze slid for a moment to Balerion’s vast shadow, Aegon added, not unkindly, but with the firm edge of one who brooks no doubt: “I hope our Realms share a long and kind bond. We share distant kin, I believe. Very distant, of course.”
She gracefully inclined her head at his thanks, listening carefully to his words and imprinting them in her head so she could pen an accurate recount of the interaction to her mother. He was right, of course, in mentioning the other lands beyond the ones he now rules; Leng had stood for eons; through wars and conquest, the fall of empires, and through magic of the most ancient and dangerous, and it would continue to stand. Perhaps, knowing of the old histories of her own homeland — tremendous magic, shadowy ruins, mythology in and hundreds of feet below the ground she grew up upon — that was why she didn't flinch in terror at the sight of the great, black dragon. There were things in the world, in all lands (she believed), that were beyond comprehension and beyond the capability of simple humans. Beneath the grounds of Leng, the Old Ones still held court, their power still as monumental as it had ever been, their subterranean realm a forbidden place for those of the mortal world.
"I would be happy to accept your invitation," yes, he had worded it as a request — but no one may command a child of the God-Empress. "The royal blood of Leng has not journeyed to the west before; it is my honour to be the first."
Peri watched the way the Westerosi King turned pale eyes to his dragon, and her face also betrayed no internal monologue as she smiled. Pretty, fair, and graceful, she nodded with a regal air, "I am sure we will. Our cultures are both steeped in magic, with legacies reaching far beyond the memory of even your dragon. It is only right that kingdoms with such power in our veins should find a common ground, is it not?" Let it be made clear, she thought, that Leng does not cower or submit to the dragon lords and kings. Let it be known that we are equal: in dignity, in power, in the historic capability of bringing forth terror and wrath when threatened, and in the desire to lead our respective kingdoms with a steady and precise hand.
"My youngest brother, the Jade Child, serves as Prince Historian of Leng — if he were here, he would be able to tell you exact names and dates, I am sure," there was a laugh in her voice, a note of obvious tender affection for one of her (several) siblings, — "but yes, I am certain you are correct. Our shared kin may be from a forgotten time in distant history, but perhaps new kinships can be found under your reign of the West." Maybe I will refer to King Aegon of Westeros as The Dragon of The West, she thought to herself as she let her eyes wander between the king, his mount, and those in his company... — it seemed a fitting title for a man with such a steadfast aura and presence.
the upper and lower rank heirs of . . . leng.
The children of the God-Empress are each named for the celestial jewels and ancient rulers of the Great Empire of the Dawn, their titles reflecting both divine heritage and sacred duty.
The firstborn daughter is the Moon Child, the Supreme Heiress; she has been prepared for sovereignty from infancy. The secondborn, the Sapphire Child, commands the royal guard, she is the Holy Blade of Leng, sworn to her mother’s protection.
Perichá, the Pearl Child, is thirdborn, is the Promised Beauty of The Blood of Leng. She embodies grace and lineage, a living heirloom of Leng’s bloodline.
The eldest son, the Jade Child, is High Architect of the Palace and senior advisor to his fathers — the God-Empress’s consorts — he safeguards both the order of court and the shaping of Leng’s future. Fifthborn is the Tourmaline Child, and stands as the Holy Oracle, Speaker of the Heirs, and mediator between Upper and Lower Ranks, the voice that bridges divisions within the dynasty. The second son, the Onyx Child, is the God-Empress’s Sword, he carries out her justice with unflinching resolve. He is also eldest among the Lower Rank heirs, anchoring their loyalty. Next comes the Topaz Child, lastborn son, is Prince Historian and junior advisor, he preserves Leng’s memory and counsels the consorts. He is twin to the Opal Child; devoted wholly to the gods, she is the Spiritual Leader of Leng, conveying divine will to her mother and guiding the realm’s faith. Last of all is the Amethyst Child, is the Treasure of Leng and her mother’s constant shadow, the youngest embodies both the fragility and glory of the dynasty’s legacy.
The heirs of Leng are divided into Upper & Lower Rank, a distinction not of blood but of destiny; as all things woven into the celestial monarchy.
The Upper Rank Heirs (the Moon, Sapphire, Pearl, and Jade Children) stand closest to the God-Empress, entrusted with command, counsel, and succession. They embody the face of empire, its rule, the God-Empress, her consorts, wisdom, and vision of future legacy.
Fixed in the midst of these two groups is the Tourmaline Child, the Holy Oracle and Speaker of the Heirs, who bridges the divide between Upper and Lower. Commanding respect from all her siblings, she conveys their decisions, statements, questions, and answers, her words binding the heirs into a single voice. Thus the dynasty speaks through her, unified in counsel and purpose, preserving the sacred harmony of Leng’s celestial bloodline.
The Lower Rank Heirs (the Onyx, Opal, Topaz, and Amethyst Children) are no less vital, for they embody service, spirit, and preservation. The Onyx Child wields the Empress’s justice, the Opal Child her divine voice, the Topaz Child her memory, and the Amethyst Child her living treasure.
Together, the two ranks form a delicate harmony: the Upper commanding and shaping, the Lower sustaining and executing, each dependent on the other to preserve the glory and continuity of Leng’s sacred rule.

“Why did you come? I will not let you stay.”
“There is something mysterious in the air this morning.”
“I don’t believe you.”
“It’s a wild, dreary enough place to my mind, though there’s plenty that likes it—particularly when the heather’s in bloom.”
“Could you keep a secret, if I told you one?”
“You do cheer me up. I like to hear you talk.”
“I think you shall be a secret, too.”
“I wasn’t as contrary as they were.”
“Where you tend a rose, a thistle cannot grow”
"Do they take good care of you?"
“Whatever happens, you—you never would tell?”
“I suppose you might as well be told something—to prepare you. You are going to a queer place.”
“What do you do in your cottage when it rains like this?”
“I wish I could go to sleep before you leave me...”
“You ought to have gone to the hills two weeks ago.”
“Do you want me to kiss you?”
“They may drag me in but they can't make me talk when they get me here.”
“I shall lose my place working here—I shall for sure!”
“I turned round the wrong corner, I didn’t know which way to go.”
“So long as I know what’s expected of me, I can manage.”
“Where is home?”
“I’ll come every day if tha' wants me, rain or shine.”
“Springtime’s comin'. Can't you smell it?”
“You're a good bit stronger than you were; you're beginning to look different.”
“You smell like flowers and—and fresh things. What is it you smell of? It's cool and warm and sweet all at the same time.”
“I'm so happy I can scarcely breathe!”
“People never like me, and I never like people.”
“You are just what I—what I wanted.”
“Perhaps I have been all wrong. Ten years is a long time. It may be too late to do anything—quite too late. What have I been thinking of?”
“Now, it need not be a secret any more.”
“I shall come back this afternoon.”
“Do you understand everything birds say?”
“You are prettier than anything else in the world.”
“I have no friends at all, I never had.”
“I wonder if they are all quite dead, is it all a quite dead garden?”
“I had never seemed to really be anyone’s little girl.”
“What! You thought I was a what?!”
“The thought of that pleases me very much.”
“I packed her small trunk and made the journey.”
“The house is six hundred years old and it’s on the edge of the moor, and there’s near a hundred rooms in it, though most of them’s shut up and locked.”
“I have nothing—and no one.”
“There’ll be a fountain o’ roses here this summer.”
“Come with me and I’ll show you.”
“You remind me of some one else who loved the earth and things that grow.”
“Shut your eyes. I will stroke your hand and sing something quite low until you fall asleep.”
“Did you feel as if you hated people?”
“I wish I were friends with things, but I'm not. I never had anything to be friends with, and I can't bear people.”
“Would you like me to sing you that song I learned when I was little?”
“The servants are not allowed to speak about me”
“That isn't the wind. It is different.”
“Who are you? Are you a ghost?”
“You are real, aren't you? I have such real dreams very often. You might be one of them.”
“If there was a door, hidden somewhere under the ivy—if there was—and we could find it.”
“Someone has died.”
“It makes it easier. I don't like havin' to hide things.”
“Why does nobody come?”
“It is a queer, pretty place! It’s as if you were in a dream.”
“I said I would never go back again— but perhaps —”
“He's a common cottage boy off the moor!”
“I’ve no patience with folk that sit and just stare at good bread and meat and let it go to waste.”
“Why does it make you angry when you are looked at?”
“The rain is as contrary as I ever was. It came because it knew I did not want it.”
“Besides, she is mine and I don't want every one to see her.”
“I will come as often as I can.”
“Come in, I've been thinking about you all morning.”
“Sometimes when I open my eyes I don't believe I'm awake.”
“Don't let us talk about dying; I don't like it. Let us talk about living.”
“Why was I forgotten?”
“Do you think he will die?”
“I want to do it before the sun goes quite—quite down.”
“It would not be wise to try to stop me, I am going.”
“Do you know who I am?”
“Let's hope they're changing for the better, [name].”
“I am always better when you are with me.”
“You did not say the illness had broken out among your servants.”
“I heard there was a child, though no one ever saw her.”
“It was in that strange and sudden way that I found out that I had neither father nor mother left.”
“You are going to be sent home at the end of the week.”
“Have you to do what I please or have you not?”
“When first we got in here, it seemed like everything was grey. Look round now and tell me if thou doesn't see a difference.”
“I don't know what to do. I don't know what to do, I can't bear it.”
“You don’t know anything.”
“I'm always thinking about it—but we couldn't go on like this much longer. I can't stand lying still and pretending.”
“They are always whispering about it and thinking I don't notice.”
“I know what you want me to tell you. I always know when you want me to tell you something”
“Who is coming in here? Who is it?”
“If you scream another scream, I'll scream too—and I can scream louder than you can!”
“You see we can't help laughing nearly all the time when we are together.”
“There's no one left to come.”
“I will try to find the key, I will try to open the door. I must—though I don't know why.”
“Why? Because those children have scarcely ever had their stomachs full in their lives.”
“I won't have people whispering and asking questions.”
“I will not let any one know where I go”
“He ought to be stopped! Somebody ought to make him stop!”
“Are you making Magic?”
“I am not going to be a poor thing. I won't let people think I'm one.”
“I shall send for you sometimes to help—but you must come when no one can see you.”
