colleen had been walking back to her chambers after eating her breakfast. she tried her best to not socialize with any monarch as she was not in the mood to do so. if sleeping all day was considered as responsible, she would have been doing that for the remainder of her stay at athens. although she had wanted to go around the country for some sightseeing, she had a feeling that you could not go far from where they were staying right now and that made her feel more annoyed with this whole business. as she was on her way, she had noticed someone else in front of her turning at a nearby corner and dropping an item. she rushed to grab the item, calling the other before they walked away from her vicinity. “ hey! i think you dropped this! ”
it was absurd being here. colleen had a vague idea as to why they were all shipped here and were started to be paired with other monarchs. it was ridiculous, really. does unity really have to be accomplished by marriage? surely, all the countries could just talk it out and whoever was in was in? but seeing as there was no other option, she had to agree with this. she was slightly disappointed to have discovered that her betrothed was no one she knew so much, you’re just disappointed it wasn’t him, she thought to herself. she hoped that she would never see him here, she would rather save herself from a multitude of heart pains. her eyes lit up when she saw who she was intended to actually see. prince maximilian was someone she knew exclusively, she had no prior impressions on him, and she was glad that they were both shrouded by animosity, it was easy to build a relationship. she cleared her throat when she neared him, “ i believe we have matters to discuss? but first, would you like some wine? ” she asked, raising the bottle of wine she was holding. hey y’all !! it’s me again with my second character. she’s more verbose than adelaide because her life is so angsty lmao so here she is:

colleen has always been a powerhouse on her own. she’s very reliable and she knows what she wants. in a sense she’s also assertive as she tends to get what she wants/needs without a show of force. she’s been groomed this way as she is a future queen and she understands that she needs to have a certain attitude.
she cares about her siblings but more details on their relationship will be plotted out with them.
despite being groomed to be more controlled of what happens in her life, from time to time, she enjoys “rebelling” (doing something out of the norm for her) like partying, one night stands, and drugs. but she’s careful that the public would find out much less her parents.
her biggest secret was hooking up and having unresolved feelings with the crown prince of austria, jakob bauer. at first, she had disliked him because of the dislike between their families but one argument later, it turned to something more.
colleen had promised it was a one time thing and that it would never happen again but that hook up had became a guilty pleasure for her and it became two, three, four times.
she had decided to break it off when she needed to get back to her country, their romance didn’t take long. but they never really made sense of their attraction to one another.
fast forward years later as she stumbled upon him again and this time, it was difficult to stay away from him because distance makes the heart grow fonder. they did some intimate things before she had to leave again but this time, she went home with two headcount instead of one.
of course, any secret would reveal themselves in the worst possible way. she had discovered she was pregnant and it caused a stir in the palace. her parents did not want it at all as it belong to a country they’re not interested to work with.
they had decided to give the baby up for adoption but that didn’t happen as the child died in childbirth. it was devastating for colleen as she had grown to appreciate a baby. she had never known that being a mother was something she was anticipating.
right now, she had not fully moved on from the ordeal but she’s working it out slowly, but seeing mothers make her sad.
“I like to invest in pieces I know I’ll wear until they get holes in them. I buy things I know will go with other pieces that I have that complement the wardrobe that I already own.”
