A glimpse at what G6 may be! My Little Pony: Forever Friendship

After initially being posted on Twitter, the song was uploaded to YouTube and the full resolution images were shared on Derpibooru. (Note that the concept art does have 2023 copyright, but the logo IS 2026.)

The cast of ponies correlates with the upcoming toy release for San Diego Comic-Con where Rarity and Applejack are missing. The song also has a Hasbro Music content ID.

We may not know any additional info until SDCC in a few days.

I LOVE Applejack but it is what it is. There are SO many other ponies from G1-G3 they could remake for G6 but its just gonna be more Mane 6. Hopefully the toys are cute if we get to that point! They need to stop trying to recapture the G4 magic. We have NINE SEASONS and tons of other media. Just let it rest!

Welp, we finally got the confirmation of G6 (Press Release), and gotta say... yeah, it's fine. Nothing to complain about, it's basically everything I kinda expected it to be.

The leaks were mostly true. That's one thing. AJ and Rarity will be in the new gen, they're just... not part of the starting cast, I guess.

Episodes will be on Youtube, 9 minutes long, and a bi-weekly thing. Story's looking to be a slice-of-life deal. It'll be releasing in early 2027.

And, as one might expect; it's not replacing any of the old stuff. It's its own thing, just reusing the iconic characters, like MLP has done in the past. The only difference now is that those iconic characters are very iconic.

We've also had a meet the cast video (here) for the VAs of Twilight, Pinkie, RD, and Fluttershy. They're good. They perfectly capture the iconic aspects of the characters while also having their own slight spin on things that doesn't come off as jarring.

All in all... It's fine. Not in an 'everything is on fire, but if I ignore it, it'll be okay' way, but in a 'literally nothing is wrong right now' way. We might only have so much info right now, but what we do have tells us that this is alright. There is nothing to catastrophise over.

It. Is. Fine.

We should just temper expectations for it having overarching villains, and give it a chance to be its own thing. Because frankly, this franchise is never going to successfully get out of the shadow of FiM, unless we, the fans, stop using FiM as a measuring stick.

At last the final Princess!! She definitely had the most drastic redesign, but I couldn't resist making a character named pearl be pearlescent ;w; her dragons Companion Fiery is the oldest of the gem dragons(though still a child!) She is very protective of Pearl and has the scars to show it!
