Dating in-sys is perfectly normal and ok. Syscringe likes to say that it increases dissociative barriers because the person is thinking of their alters as different people.

In reality, it decreases dissociative barriers because the alters that are dating get to know each other better. And getting to know alters better is what lots of therapists encourage people to do in order to decrease dissociative barriers.

Not to mention that each system can view their alters in whatever way they like so long as it isn’t harming them. “We are all parts of one person” is fine. “We are separate individuals” is fine. “We are separate individuals that make up a person” is fine. Just so long as it doesn’t harm you.

A system is a collection of alters. Alters are chronically dissociated self states or ego states, with different neurological pathways that are often accompanied by a varying degree of amnesia. Dissociation is caused by stress/trauma and in many cases other mental illnesses. Alters are a byproduct of dissociating from the trauma that occurred that caused your ego states to not form into one. You can’t dissociate from trauma you do not have. You will not form DID/Parts without trauma, as the brain would not purposely sabotage itself.

You cannot be a system without trauma. Argue with your mama about it :)

we finally cut our hair, its been years since we've cut it cause we abaolutely hate going to salons so we let a close friend cut it!! it feels so much lighter now and i feel great about it, though we do still have to go to an actual hairstylist to fix it up and style it a bit, not looking forward to that but yay :')

saw an elderly woman walking around with a tote bag whose design were the four AO3 fic category squares and she very excitedly asked if i was a reader or a writer bcs nobody else at the con had recognized it, and after telling her that i've been writing fic since fanfic.net, she solemnly nodded and explained that she'd been reading fic since "the days of personal websites" but that she only started writing fanfic when she was 47 and oh my god when i tell you that i genuinely teared up on the spot!!!!! like!!! HELL YEAH???? LITERALLY NEVER TOO OLD TO START WRITING. NEVER TOO OLD TO WRITE AND SHARE YOUR FIC.
