Lots of wedding photos on Reddit! Here’s the original, added with my colors, then edited with lighting adjustments.

I wonder what they were celebrating. Another one for Reddit.

A charming photo of a Redditor’s grandparents.

More paints for Redditors hoping to see family photos in color.

Bela Lugosi “Dracula” 1931 - I wanted to add a twist of modern horror colors.

More work for Redditors. The original needed a lot of work to make it ready for coloring. It’s so important to adjust the values, and I see a lot of people who don’t do that. I forgot to add the back leg to one of the stools, and I only did minimal work on the groom’s face so I wouldn’t mess up his facial structure too much, but otherwise I think it came out nicely!

I enjoy doing paint-over critiques as a way to test myself on my ability to correctly interpret and address issues (instead of simply being a tool to inform others of issues in their work).
Here is the original photo in black in white, colored by an artist (Klimenko), and the final has my edits and paint-overs to improve the colored work.

Lucille Ball looking flawless. I appreciate the porcelain effect of the original photo, but I wanted to bring back a bit of the soft shadows of her face so I could have an excuse to over-saturate her hair. : )

Colorization of another great grandfather from WW1, done for someone on Reddit.
Here is the original photo, then my first colorization soon after I started coloring photos, and last a newer version with lessons I’ve learned thus far. (Namely that my love for saturation doesn’t carry over to photo realism.)

This was colored for extended family. During World War II he named his tractor tank after his newborn son Billy.

Don Nicol at the Theatre Royal, 1946
Looking at it now, I sharpened it a little too much and I think I could’ve added more overall harmony to the colors.
