🐮🇰🇭 . When I first arrived, I thought these cows were so skinny. But then I realized they are just a different breed. . Birthday party for the midwife’s daughter. She’s 4 years old! She was 2 when I first arrived and she would cry every time she saw me. Now we’re friends ❤️

Made cheese dumplings in the village with my favorite person. She looks up recipes online, watches YouTube tutorials, and improvises. Amazing!
Thanks for making me the happiest Auntie for the past 11 months ❤️ He now has 8 🦷 and can crawl. Watching him grow everyday is nature at it’s best. His emotions are pure. His needs are unapologetic. He always reminds me to take it easy, be present, and play. #khmer #cambodia #kep #peacecorpscambodia #howiseepc #pck11 #peacecorps #cutebaby (at Kep, Cambodia) https://www.instagram.com/p/B1lqhQ_jgYB/?igshid=7p9ubk6pd7k0
Thanks for (hand)standing next to me through this journey of life. ❤️ Your passions are contagious and keep me aware about fast fashion, plastic, and animal meat. I can’t wait to work together next year and influence the next generation of strong, independent, Cambodian women ✌🏼#savetheplanet #noplastic #vegetarian #ethicalclothing #bish #instagramboyfriend https://www.instagram.com/p/B1gO-TlDm6p/?igshid=1xn3yh82dvtjv

My 5th grade class surprised me with another celebration today. They are fully of energy and spirit. I hope that their upbeat, positive outlook on life continues to shine and that education remains a priority for them. I feel as if their true innate personalities really show in this age. They’re not yet being judged and influenced by the mass, and they’re forming their own beliefs. Puberty is hovering just below the surface. I’m already excited to come back next year and see them as 6th graders.
I held back tears as I was riding home with the presents. It’s starting to sink in that this is my last month here.
My 4th grade students wanted to throw me a birthday party before I leave. It’s not my birthday, but it was really sweet of them to think of me. Of course there’s cake, a cake fight, and silly string everywhere!
I’m going to miss them so much. They’re full of energy and love learning English and about other countries. Yesterday I asked them what age they will get married and how many children they will have (just like everyone asks me). Most said late 20s and 2-3 children. Interesting.
Made sweet banana chips with my sisters. I added cinnamon on my portion. They didn’t like it. What’s not to like about cinnamon and sugar?
