Final Blog

These blogs have a been a lot of fun this semester.  It has made me really have to think about what is going on in my life that I want to share with other people. I'm very grateful that this semester is almost over.  It has been very tough and difficult to keep up with all of the busy work I have been given this semester.  Some of the assignments have not been extremely difficult, but the fact I always have so many of them is overwhelming.  Anyways, I'm so glad that graduation is 11 days away and that I get to start graduate school in the spring!

I was so disappointed this morning when my 8am class hadn't been cancelled.  The weather has really let me down in terms of class being cancelled this semester.  Not a single one.  When I saw the ground covered in snow when I went to bed last night I was so hopeful that I wouldn't have to come in today.  Now they are calling for the snow to come tomorrow, which is a bummer because I am leaving town tonight.  I'm pretty sure this is what happened a couple of years ago too.  I waited all semester for a good snow, and the moment I leave, it finally snows!

facebook

Yesterday I decided the time had come to get rid of my facebook.  I never really used it, and when I did it was just to see what other people were doing.  I never actually contributed to it other than the occasional random comment.  At first I thought it was going to be really difficult to not have it to look at all of the time, but now that I am on day two if no facebook, I realize that I don't even miss it that much.  When i do try and visit the website, it is only out of habit.  I immediately remember that I deacitvated it, and then I simply move on to something else.  I've really gotten a lot of work done!

23

This past weekend my brother came to boone with all of his friends to celebrate his birthday. I can’t believe he is 23 and is already a teacher. I am glad he got to spend the weekend with me though, although it was crazy having three people sleep on my floor. His girlfriend and her sister also stayed with me. They both graduated from App last year, and I cant believe this year I will be the one graduating.

I can't believe I am 23 either! It's weird seeing everyone that I graduated with having children and getting married! It makes me feel like I am running behind.  Oh well, I am no where near being ready for the real world yet...

going home

I can't wait for this day to be over! Once my last class ends today I get to home home! I normally wouldn't be so excited to hang out with my parents for several days, but this time is different.  My brother and his wife and kids are on their way up to North Carolina from Savannah.  I haven't seen them in a few months, so I am super excited that they are coming! This means I get to spoil my niece and nephew for a few days and play the worlds most awesome aunt.  I love that my niece is a little bit older now, so I am able to actually do cool things with her!

Presentations

I just finished my first presentation for the week! What a relief that it is over! It seems like the next week is filled with presenting and papers to turn.  I guess a lot of professors are trying to have all of their assignments turned in before thanksgiving.  I am very stressed out by this fact, but at the same time I am grateful knowing that once thanksgiving gets here I won't have to worry about homework anymore.  I'll be able to relax and enjoy time with my family, and once I come back to school I can focus on studying for exams.

Yesterday was my first day at Coyote Kitchen, and I think I’m actually going to like working somewhere for once. It reminded me if my first job (which I loved) with the way it smelled, how people acted, and just how things flowed. In other news, my laziness is reaching unprecedented levels. I...

I love coyote kitchen! The blackened chicken sandwich, and the tilapia sandwich are awesome! And just thinking of the tomato garlic soup makes my mouth start to water...

Christmas gifts

Yesterday it occurred to me that I still need to buy Christmas gifts for a lot of people.  I don't make a ton of money at my job, so I don't know how I'm going to get everyone a gift.  I normally make sure I get my mother and father a nice gift, as well as my niece and nephew.  I guess a lot of people are going to be getting homemade gifts this year.  I will still be getting my niece and nephew something awesome though.  Having children in your family makes Christmas much more exciting.  I love seeing their faces when they open all of their gifts!

I don't know why, but for the past few days I have felt exhausted.  Normally after I wake up I am ready to start my day and I don't really feel the need to take a nap.  But it has been all I can do to stay awake in class the past few days.  I have actually been nodding off in class and looking for things to lean my head on and close my eyes.  I keep looking for ways to go home and take a short nap before my next class.  I think my mind is just ready for a break.  I am counting down the days between me and Thanksgiving.  I just need a day where I get to sleep in..

I am ready for this week to be over with. My husband works in the tree fields every day this week form 8-2 and then at his other job from 3-11. I am not complaining because the big chunk of change he makes during tree season pays for Christmas presents and I am very thankful for that. But ugh, it...

I don't know how you do everything you do! I have a hard enough time keeping up with myself.  I can't imagine being in school, and having a child and husband!

Grad school

I am so nervous to find out about graduate school! I only submitted my application a little over a week ago, but I wish I would find something out already.  I know there is a lot that goes into the acceptance process, so I should probably be a little more patient.  It is hard to plan out what I am going to do next semester when I do not know for sure where I will be going to school, or if I will be going to school.  I have a good feeling that I got in, but it would be nice to now something for certain.

snow

I was hoping that it would snow a lot today, but it doesn't look like much of anything is going to happen.  I remember last year it had already snowed a lot by this point.  The hurricane sandy also helped bring in a lot of snow last October.  I think I am just ready for it to feel like the holidays.  Having snow on the ground helps to give me the feeling that Thanksgiving and Christmas are on their way! Seeing stores decorate for christmas and put out christmas items to buy doesn't seem right if it is not even cold outside.

End of the semester

I am so glad this semester is coming to an end! All of my assignments are in the process of being turned in, so I don't have an absurd amount of homework to do every single night.  It gets to be very overwhelming to have a lot of homework every night, especially after you have been at school all day.  I can't really get any homework done on the weekends either because I work all weekend.  I'm just looking forward to having everything turned in, being done with my exams, and being able to take a deep breath and relax.

Classes

I hate when I study for something, and feel like I am ready to take the test…then I take the test and totally blank. This semester has been one of the hardest semesters I have had, and I feel like I always have multiple things due on the same day.  I really feel like I need another break…Atleast this weekend my aunt and uncle are coming to visit me! I am so ecited to spend the day with them in Boone.

Graduation

It's only 37 days until I walk across the stage.  I'm so excited to be finished with undergraduate school.  I feel like I have been here at ASU forever.  All though I am going to graduate school here too... In the six years I have been here, I have made friends, watched those friends graduate and move away, seen the campus transform with new buildings being built and old ones being torn down, and struggled to fit into and make new friends in a second major.  It was so easy to make friend in the music building, but I have had a hard time making good friends in edwin duncan.  I think this semester is the first one where I have really made good friends.  Hopefully they will still be around here next semester with me!

Neuroanatomy

I felt so disappointed this morning when I left my second neuroanatomy test.  I studied, studied some more, and then studied some more for that test...  I don't know where I went wrong in my studying, but the information I saw on that test was not what I studied.  A lot of the information did look familiar, but a lot of it did not.  I guess it is my fault, I should have studied better, but it is just so disappointing to put so much time into studying for something and then walk out of the test feeling horrible.  At least the tests aren't a huge portion of our grade, so hopefully it won't hurt my grade too badly.

November

So far, November has been crazy busy.  I feel like this is my busiest week of the semester so far.  I have tests, projects, papers, presentation, and work this week.  I don't really know when I am expected to do all of this.  Oh well. At least the semester is almost over.  I can't wait to go home for Thanksgiving and Christmas.  I am really looking forward to having a nice break before starting graduate school.  I just want to spend my Christmas break doing nothing but sleeping, singing, and traveling.  I think I just need to get out of Boone for a little while.
