Roadtrip Day 7: Snyder’s Landing
This was a fun walk along the river. Bear & Friends were there but I didn’t really take many pictures... just out enjoying nature and good company.

Roadtrip Day 7: Snyder’s Landing
This was a fun walk along the river. Bear & Friends were there but I didn’t really take many pictures... just out enjoying nature and good company.
Roadtrip Day 6: Antietam National Battlefield & Bear
As you can probably tell by this point... we’re big fans of state and national parks. I’m a nerd and I like to collect National Park stamps and wander around with my dog.... who enjoys nature, meeting new friends, and sniffing new things. We spent the next few days hanging out with Bear, his human, and another close friend. All of whom Sansa was happy to hang out with. I kept hoping that Bear’s enthusiasm for riding in a car would wear off on Sansa but she still doesn’t enjoy it much.
Roadtrip Day 5: Time to move on & Sweet Potato Pie
We had so much fun with Sweetie Pie and Susan (Sweetie’s human). Sansa has a lot of fun being a mountain dog and following Sweetie Pie’s lead.
Day 4 of Roadtrip: Maynard and the Squirrel (Otis not pictured)
After being chased around by one of the smallest dogs Sansa had ever seen (That I did not get a picture of because I was laughing too hard) she got to meet Maynard. Maynard had to be restrained because he would not stop licking her ears and face and would not take any dog “back off” signals.
Day 4 of Roadtrip: Mountain Dog and Waterfall
We don’t have much service so it had been hard to post but today we went to the waterfall. It was a fun obstacle course of fallen trees and slippery rocks. Sweetie Pie (my god dog of 7 years) joined us for our hike.
Day 2 of Roadtrip (Part 2 continues...): Cranberry Glades. “I Like Snow,” -Sansa
I love going here because it is so different from everywhere else... and usually there isn’t a lot of people. I miss the mountains.
Day 2 of Roadtrip (Part Two): Cranberry Glades Boardwalk. Snow!!!!! First Frozen Steps.❄️ ❄️
Thinking about how nice and sunny ☀️ it was at the Bridge, we thought we go up to the Cranberry Glades Boardwalk for more sun. Did not go as planned; it was much better!!! ❄️ ❄️❄️Sansa’s first encounter with snow!!!
LoL she was so unsure of it and didn’t want to step in for awhile but was soon running wild.
Roadtrip Day 2 (Part 1): New River Gorge Bridge. A Bridge, Stairs, and more stairs
This is a trip of many firsts for Sansa. We’re not quite back to my home town, but this is a place that I grew up going to a lot both on field trips for school and family. It’s funny the things you forget after being gone for so long... like how many stairs there are at New River Gorge Bridge.
We were both out of breath, but she kept looking at me like, “ya gonna make it mom?” -_-; yes dear.
Day 1 of Roadtrip: Hungry Mother State Park. Enjoying a hike with an old friend and a new friend.
Meet Keta! She’s a super sweet lab & shepard mix. We’re visiting with a dear friend of mine who is a dog lover/owner.
Sansa was so wonderful and kept checking in to make sure I was there and didn’t wander too far. It took her forever to actually play with Keta (and it was helpful that Keta was so outgoing and actively kept trying to get her to play... and not giving up). It was fun watching Keta rocket around.
Guess who is feeling pretty after getting “the works™️”?!?! Sansa is feeling pretty! The groomer said that she was absolutely wonderful and so calm and ok with everything and she was such a good girl!
Sansa is feeling super sketchy about this whole grooming situation. Especially that weird fake dog in the doghouse.
I love rain and muddy puddles! 🌧 ☔️ —— (she doesnt know what’s coming 🛁🧼🧽)
First day in two weeks we’ve had sun. I knew something was wrong when she came back walking funny and wouldn’t look at me, but I couldn’t seen an issue until I caught her (she wanted to go to the porch and hide which is her “safe space”). She had gotten a really long thorny branch stuck in her fur and it ran the entire length of her underside, painfully stabbing into her legs, belly, and tail with every step... it was tangled so bad that I had to cut it into pieces to get it out... in many places I had to cut her fur too.
These were absolute hell. Like my thumb is still throbbing where I got stabbed removing them. I can’t imagine how bad they hurt while she was walking. My poor sweet dumbo.
She was so clearly greatful and realieved when it was over and just kept nuzzling me. She was so good and patient and when it hurt she picked her whole head up and looked at me or let out the tiniest whine but she didn’t struggle or try to get away... she just went limp and let me do what had to be done. It felt like she was trusting me so much.
Also, I had locked Panda out during the whole process and she kept pacing the fence. She had been really worried and was happy to see Sansa was ok.
Sansa found some dry sand/silt on the sidewalk (from when the river flooded recently) and she immediately needed to dig in it. She LOVES soft soil.
Olaf (Sansa’s dad) and an unknown littermate. Kristoff is a hard working sheep guardian on the farm. He is tough as heck but very attentive and gentle with his charges... including his puppies, who he checks on regularly. Olaf is half Great Pyrennes and half Antolian Shepherd.
Lizzie (Sansa’s Mom) is also a working farm dog! On the same farm! She is so gentle and sweet and also ready to jump to her pups defense if the other farm dogs get too rowdy with them. I’ve only seen her in her mom role. Lizzie is half Great Pyrennes and half Karakachan dog.
