FAQ
What is this blog?
This blog is meant to keep track of Sam Wilson and Bucky Barnes apparitions in the comics, be it as team, or a standalone storyline or even just a cameo in the background (though I will probably have trouble tracking these haha).
The pinned post will always indicate what's the most recent issues they have appeared in.
What can I do with this blog?
You can use it to stay up to date with the comics.
You can also send me panels you liked, links to posts you made about a comic issue so I can reblog it or ask for a rec.
What should I expect in the future?
For now, the blog is pretty bare but once I'll have the time, I'll make two masterlists that should serve as a guide for newcommers ie, what you should read if you have absolutely no idea where to start from.
How can I read the Marvel Comics?
A thorough guide will come one day but for now, you can look here.
When are new comics released?
New comics come out every week on Wednesday. You can track these releases by looking at the tag #wednesday release.
I just learned that in the comics, Bucky becomes Captain America after Steve's death. But in the movie, Sam becomes the new Captain America. What's your thoughts on that? 💭
My thought on that is that in the comics, after Steve's death, they're looking for somebody to take the shield. Meanwhile, Tony has Steve's testimony asking him to take care about Bucky so Tony puts 1 plus 1 together and gives the shield to Bucky. Bucky will struggle a lot with imposter syndrome before giving back the shield to Steve as soon as he'll came back. (Captain America vol.5 #33)
Around 2014 (Captain America vol.7 #25), Steve is aged and forced to retire. He chooses Sam as a replacement.
Fast foward to 2022 (Symbol of Truth/Sentinel of Liberty), Steve is young again and decides that Sam will remain Captain America so that they'll be two of them.
Wooooow okay this is nothing like the movies! Thinis waaaay more interesting! Thank you so much for clarifying and explaining this to me! It's very helpful <3 ❣️
You're welcome!! I don't use this blog much but I've read a lot of Steve/Sam/Bucky comics (because I was too obsessed to stick to the MCU) so if you have any question, I'll be happy to help!
(Also it is like the movies! Just in a fanfiction/canon divergence way! Which is why I love trying to see what they adapted from each other!)

The whole arc of Bucky is that he's being sent as an assassin *again* but since it's the US gov it's all well and good! Sam knows what's up, knows that Bucky is drowning but is tactful enough that he doesn't bring it up frankly and instead wants for Bucky to arrive at the conclusion by himself ("I am not comfortable with my job and should accept Sam's help for getting out")
From: The Falcon and the winter soldier, "Cut off One Head"
bucky believes in sam as captain america when the whole country doesn't and reassures him. this is when even steve disagrees with sam and has fallen out with him...
For the last few days I have been compiling a list of comics in which both Sam and Bucky appear. The list was created for myself however I thought there might be other people interested so I’ve decided to post it. I have done two lists, one which contains small descriptions and notable quotes from the issues and one that lists only the comics they both appear in.
Most of the information has been gathered from Comicvine and the Marvel Wiki, and from me reading through the comics myself to verify the information to the best of my ability.
[Spoiler-free] [Non-Spoiler-Free]
If anyone has any information to add to the lists or if you think something needs adding or changing etc. don’t hesitate to send me an ask :D
(Most issues are there for completions sake only and most of their interactions take place during Captain America (2005).)
So like... was anybody gonna tell me about there being a CABNW children's book set some time before the movie's events, that is considered canon to the MCU?
So this cute boy DJ goes on a class trip to see Sam Wilson give a speech in which he announces he'll deliver solar battery drones to neighbourhoods around Washington DC. He also talks about how there is no one way to be a hero, and that anyone can be a hero. Then the Serpent mercenaries attack, and Sam has to leave his shield behind to pursue them. DJ picks up the shield and tries to get it to Sam to help him, saving people along the way, which in the end causes Sam to tell the kid that he is what a hero looks like.
Two things: This being MCU canon show us how Sam uses his Cap platform, and that he's been tussling with the Serpent group for a while.
And also, the kid rescues a dog from the Bucky Barnes exhibit at the Smithsonian, and he names the dog Barky Barnes.
