Sigh

I just booked a hotel for a trip I’m taking to Colorado next month. The reservation was booked by phone because their website was screwy. At the tail end of the clerk taking my credit card information, etc. I asked “you guys have cannabis-friendly rooms, right?”

The clerk let out a defeated judgemental sigh.

“I guess you get that request more often then you care for”

“Yeah. You want that room, I guess”

“Yes sir”

Black Lives Matter is held to such a ridiculously high standard. If anyone who is REMOTELY associated with BLM commits an act of violence, white people use it as an excuse to smear the name of the entire movement.

Cops can murder unarmed Black people and many white folks still jump to defend the police force.

We used to see these maps being constantly updated with information about marriage laws, marriage bans, and where same-sex couples could have their rights recognized. It’s so fresh I can still hear my coworker excitedly telling me whenever a state would recognize equality.

Now we have this new map which, in less than a decade (in my estimation) will be entirely green.
