Living with Aki Hayakawa but he ends up falling asleep on your shoulder after drinking. Aki can sort of hold his own when it comes to alcohol, but he isn't as much of a heavyweight as Captain Kishibe or Ms. Makima. It's no wonder that after several beers, he was already feeling considerably buzzed. That, and the exhaustion from work suddenly caught up to him.
On the other hand, you were just talking to Power and Denji, who were loudly squabbling across the small dining table over who was more powerful during the mission yesterday and therefore deserved the last piece of karaage. Suddenly, as you placed your drink of choice on the table, you felt something heavy on your shoulder. It turns out, Aki had fallen asleep and was now resting his head on your shoulder. He was snoring softly, eyes closed and mouth the tiniest bit open. It was the most vulnerable he'd ever looked over the past few months. He would often look so stoic and so put-together during missions, and most of the time he wouldn't even be home when you and the others were asleep. But right now, he just looked like himself. Exhausted under the weight of the many burdens upon his shoulders and full of so, so much care for everything and everyone, you, Power, and Denji especially. It was sweet to know that he trusted you enough to let you see this side of him. You were admiring the peaceful look on his face when...
"Ha! Topknot's asleep! This chicken is mine!"
Power lurched forward to spear the karaage with one of her chopsticks, swallowing the whole thing before Denji could even say or do anything.
"What the hell, dude?! You didn't even chew it! You're totally going to choke!"
As if on cue, Power immediately started coughing, fists pounding at her chest.
"Seriously..." Denji groaned, grabbing a glass of water and handing it to her.
You would have imagined that that stunt would have woken Aki up, but somehow, he was still fast asleep. You adjust his head on your shoulder, feeling lucky that you were surrounded by such an unconventional yet so happy family.
