”How about you sample this instead?”
Theresa remained a little concerned, but the promise of payment for her and settling and old score for Lana really could not be ignored. Holstering her weapon she followed Lana to the flight deck, and settled in the co-pilots chair. Turning to the device Lana had...
Theresa had been nodding along to her friends comments, but on the mention of a shape shifter, she bolted upright, sloshing her drink over her knees. Arms they could deal with, easily and effectively even if she did say so herself, but this...
Her mind was whirring now considering tactics and counter tactics, but she dismissed each with a shake of her head. Finally becoming aware of her surroundings again she addressed her colleague, rubbing at the stain on her pants.
"Well the x fighter won't be a problem for one thing, as I designed it." She couldn't help but boast.
"The shape shifting is another thing though..." She tailed off, musing on whether everyone got a bite of fear when shape shifter was mentioned. So many forms could be used to intimidate, cause fear or anger. Theresa wondered whether everyone got a lump in their throat when their mind settled on someone, whose shape would render them helpless. Again, she shook her head, this guy didn't know her, he couldn't but then again since she fled from the empire her face had adorned the walls of bounty hunters over the galaxy.
Perplexed she refilled her drink, and taking a long slurp tried to relax a little. "How do we stop him, maybe disable his ability to shift... but how..." She was talking more to herself than to Lana.
"You've faced him before, once we are aboard, how do you want to play it?"
I know you told me no more parts, but this one could be really useful *drags remains of an old pod racer behind her* pretty cool huh?
Teresa I know that you love changing my ship into your storage but why the hell do you need this old racer for?
I thought we could rebuild it, race it maybe. Earn some money and have to fun… Might take our mind of our eventual capture and execution.
Lana smirked, “And I bet you know how to make it work?”
"Of course I do! If only I knew where to find a winning pilot" Theresa replied fighting a smirk. "Know where I could find one?"

Theresa’s life had taken quite a turn around, when she thought about it now. She had been ambitious, very ambitious and ardently straight laced, but that was before her employers had tried to kill her. Since then she found that her skill set was a useful one, and had come...
Theresa remained a little concerned, but the promise of payment for her and settling and old score for Lana really could not be ignored. Holstering her weapon she followed Lana to the flight deck, and settled in the co-pilots chair. Turning to the device Lana had detected the signal on she fiddled with some of the knobs, a loud piercing shrike filled the area, and both she and Lana clamped their hands over their ears. "Sorry!" She muttered at her pilot, as Lana glared at her. "I was just disabling the signal, don't want anyone to get there before we do." Theresa grinned, satisfied that their prey was now alone and helpless.
One Lana had plotted the course and manoeuvred their ship, they would normally be able to relax, Theresa instinctively reached for her bottle of whiskey and poured a cup for herself and Lana, placing the amber liquid in front of Lana, she flicked the autopilot on and addressed her friend. "You sure you're ready for this?" She was concerned she couldn't help it, it unnerved her, seeing something get to her pilot. "What are we going to find when we get there? Defence systems? We need to prepare..."
TARGET PRACTICE?
Ain't no grave
Lana was sitting with her legs on the control panel and smoking her last cigarette for this day. She was listening to the signals coming through space and caught by the new device made by Theresa, Lana was used to working alone but she had to admit that their cooperation was full of benefits. Not only she was a great engineer but also turned to be a good friend, she could put her trust on.
Suddenly she heard something that made the cigarette fell down from her hand. She replayed the message three times before she got up and walked to Theresa’s bed place.
"Wake up." She said harshly and waited for her copilot to open her eyes.
"Remember, I told you that this ship had another Captain one day" she said and lit another cigarette, her hands shaky. "So let me finish this story for you. This Captain was my fiancé, we were betrayed by the bounty hunter, working for the Empire. John was killed, I barely survived. Until this day the story was over, but I just heard a S.O.S. signal from a certain ship. The ship is going on Tatooine and is fulfilled with money. Unfortunately for the pilot, it’s the same person who destroyed my life six years ago. What would you say for us to go there and kill this fucker once and for all?"
Theresa's life had taken quite a turn around, when she thought about it now. She had been ambitious, very ambitious and ardently straight laced, but that was before her employers had tried to kill her. Since then she found that her skill set was a useful one, and had come to find something of a home onboard Lana's ship. Once again she found herself reflecting on the odd circumstances that had led her here, to the makeshift sleeping area, near the belly of the ship.
She was surprised to find Lana joining her here, but her curiosity was clipped on viewing her friends shaking hands and abrupt, obvious anxiety. The story she had heard before, in bits and pieces mostly, and with a lot of gaps for Lana, despite now considering her a friend was not still ready to talk about it. It occurred to Theresa as she straightened in her bunk, and placed a reassuring hand on Lana's shoulder that she probably still wasn't ready. The news has clearly shocked her, but as always in the face of adversity, her friend adjusted with steely resolve. Theresa watched her hands stop shaking as she took a long slow drag of the cigarette.
Pulling herself to her feet she began to pace a little in the confined space. It sounded like a considerable payload, if they pulled it off. Both of them were no strangers to danger, after all. Still though, Theresa thought there was clearly a lot of emotional baggage on this one, messy. Frowning slightly she looked again at her friend, coming to her decision. Lana would do this anyway, revenge was a powerful motivator. Theresa owed this woman, she trusted her and of course she was going to help her. Reaching around her cabin she extracted her gun, one of her own design and smiled confidently at her friend.
"Let's go get the bastard."
