Back in his room, I sat on Lucifer’s bed as he took off his cape. As he hung it in his closet, his back to me, he spoke “I cannot tell you how much I missed you. I lived millennia before I met you, and yet... now that I have, I can’t imagine living another day without you.”
“You’ve become so sappy since I left. What happened to the powerful, domineering Lucifer I remember?”
He was in front of me so fast it was as if he had teleported. I gulped. “I know what you’re trying to do, Sage. You’re trying to provoke me so I’ll put you in your place. Did you really think it was a good idea to taunt the demon of pride?” He paused, letting the implied threat hang in the air. “Well, it’s not going to work, because I am going to be as sappy as I like with you.”
He sat down next to me on the bed. “Come here, Sage.” He wrapped his arms around my waist and pulled me into his lap. Once he had me seated comfortably, he kept one arm around me to hold me in place and let the other rest on my knee. I wrapped my arms around his neck.
“That’s better.” He leaned in and brushed his lips against mine. “You want more, don’t you? You’re going to have to wait. I want to hear what you’ve been up to in the human world.”
“There’s not much to tell. The human world really is uneventful compared to the Devildom. This may shock you, but not even one person has tried to kill me since I returned.”
“That’s... good to hear.”
“Mhm. I’m sure you’re thrilled to hear that you don’t have new competition, seeing as ‘tried to kill me at least twice’ seems to be my type. Ah!”
Lucifer’s hand landed on my butt with a familiar sting.
“That was for teasing me.”
His hand returned to my leg and began caressing my inner thigh. His teeth grazed my earlobe.
“I thought provoking you wasn’t going to work.”

Obviously Carter should win the person to watch award. Not even just if MC fails to make the top of the rankings. He outright deserves to win.
Let’s look at the facts: he’s a star football player. He’s a natural leader. He has great people skills and he has a posse, all of whom support and follow him not because they fear or worship him, but because they share a genuinely caring friendship. He’s gorgeous. Also, he’s the only one whose talent was actually good; we already know Poppy’s a mediocre dancer, Chloe’s musical wineglass thing was more weird than engaging, Veronica’s IRL makeup tutorial was even weirder, and MC comedy roast *sucked.* Not even one of the jokes was funny. I actually wish she had gone with hog-calling as her talent instead. But even if even one of the other characters had a decent talent, we can still add “talented singer” to the myriad other amazing things about Carter.
Carter’s amazing and he should have won. I feel like this story robbed him of a deserved victory.
Tbh the people who chooses the Bad Girl route in Queen B can't say anything about Poppy, because Bad Girl MC is just as awful. I bought Poppys scene in the last chapter and I couldn't post anything about it knowing the backlash I'd get.
Girl, bitching about how awful is poppy and then going the bad girl route and talking about how much you want to destroy her life and burn her alive is the most hypocritical thing ever.
But this fandom has always been full of hypocritical people so what’s new.

I think that you can play a character a certain way while not approving of her actions. I’m planning to do a bad girl run after this one just to see what it’s like, but that doesn’t mean I think the bad girl stuff is okay.

I actually think none of the above – I would go with the hair for black “Mackenzie” from AME or the natural hair for the Perfect Match MC.
I also think black fem Hayden’s hair would look good on her, but it doesn’t match her hair from the book.
If it wasn’t clear last chapter when she not only showed no sympathy for MC dealing with a stalker, but tried to spread a rumor MC made it up for attention, this chapter should make it abundantly clear Poppy isn’t a good person underneath it all.
Does she have hidden depths? Sure. Does she have a soft spot? Yeah, for animals. But she’s not good, and she’s never going to be MC’s loving girlfriend. At this point, none of us should want her.
