when everyone knows you're Levi's – everyone except you...

Kenny has known since you were both kids. Just two brats he'd taken under his wing in the Underground (why he'd done that, he still doesn't even know himself). Kenny knew you were Levi's when he saw the way the runt would always stay close, moving when you moved as if some invisible string were tying you together. Levi would always make sure you ate first, that you were always warm, always safe. It was also during that time when Kenny realised that, even with his own shit influence, the runt would turn out alright.

Isabel and Furlan have known since before Levi knew himself. They noticed the way that, in a room full of people, Levi's eyes would always seek you first. When you spoke, he'd listen with an intensity so unlike the usual disinterest he showed towards most other people. When you were separated for some reason – maybe, you were with another team during a heist, or just out for an errand – Levi's shoulders were tense, he was snappy, on edge, and overall unpleasant to be around. But it only lasted until he saw you again, safe.

Mike has known from the moment he saw Levi's eyes widen with pure terror when you'd been held at knife-point. It was that day when the Scouts had finally caught Levi's infamous gang in the Underground. It was almost comical how fast Levi dropped his dagger and let himself get dragged to his knees, then shoved right into a puddle of sewer filth. Especially now, when Mike knows how much that guy hates filth, he marvels at how Levi didn't even seem to notice it – no, his attention was solely focused on you, and first when the immediate threat to your life had been removed had he looked at Erwin.

Erwin and Hange learned that you were Levi's shortly after you both joined the Scouts. You were always seen together – during training, meals, and every other time of the day. They noticed that, unlike with others, Levi was always patient with you. He'd spar with you, even though he was much better at it than you were (you were still remarkably good, it was just that no one was as good as Levi), and he'd show you a move again and again and again just so you could learn it, never raising his voice at you and always answering your questions. And he didn't express even the tiniest hint of annoyance during those moments – only a softness in his eyes they would've described as adoration, if that word wasn't so strange when associated with Levi.

The Levi Squad also quickly learned that you were his. At first, they'd thought that the rumours about Levi being an aloof asshole were wrong. How could he be, with the way he acted around you – talking more than they'd ever heard him talk before, smiling like it was natural to him, letting you hold his hand, hug him, and kiss his cheek as if the two of you were a happily married couple. However, it didn't take long for them to realise that he was every bit as grumpy as rumours had claimed him to be – not quite an asshole, but still blunt and private. That is, to everyone but you.

The revelation had spurred Petra to casually ask how long you and Levi had been together. To their surprise, Levi had fallen very silent, while you spluttered and waved your hands frantically in front of yourself. "No no, I promise it's not like that! We've just known each other since we were kids!"

Petra was sceptical, Oluo confused, and Eld and Gunther exchanged looks. Later, they asked Hange about it, but they'd just pinched the bridge of their nose, mumbling something along the lines of, "If that idiot doesn't tell them soon, I'm going to ask them out myself. That should get him going."

But after that day, you notice that Levi suddenly starts acting strange around you for some reason. He'll get very still every time you hug him or get too close, something he's never done before. When you ask him about it, he doesn't say anything at first, so you ask if you did something wrong.

That seems to catch his attention, and he immediately pulls you close. "Don't be an idiot. It's not you, it's me."

You laugh a little at that. "You know, it sounds like you're breaking up with me when you put it like that." You say it as a joke of course, but it seems like Levi is taking your statement very serious.

"To break up, you have to be together first, you know."

"Right. But you never really saw me like that," you muse, looking away and trying to sound like you don't care when, really, your heart hurts just thinking about it

Again, Levi doesn't say anything, so you look at him again – only to find him staring at you as if you've suddenly grown an extra head.

"Huh? Was it something I said?"

He groans loudly. "You really are an idiot." Then, he flicks your forehead. "I always liked you, dumbass. It used to drive me mad – no, scratch that, it does drive me mad. You drive me mad, but in the best fucking way."

Your eyes light up. "Really?"

"Don't make me say it again."

"Does that mean I can kiss you?"

Levi blinks in surprise, his lips parting. Then, he quickly snaps his mouth shut, only for it to spread into a smirk a split second later. "I'd be pretty fucking stupid to say no to that, wouldn't I?"

You agree wholeheartedly, right before leaning in to kiss Levi. Right on the mouth.

~ Husband!Levi wakes up before you every single morning. He pads around the house barefoot, starts the kettle, and takes his time preparing tea, one cup for himself, and one exactly the way you like it. He just sits beside you on the bed, watching your chest rise and fall. There’s something calming about the sight of you tucked under the covers, wearing one of his old shirts.

~ Husband!Levi is absurdly territorial, not in a jealous way, but in a quiet, calculated way only people with survival instincts notice. He doesn’t shout. He doesn’t argue. He just watches. eyes sharp, jaw tight. When someone gets too familiar with you. He steps closer, hand resting low on your back, fingers lightly tapping your spine. If someone pushes past you in a crowd, Levi’s the type to grab your waist and reposition you next to him with zero hesitation.

~ Husband!Levi keeps your home cleaner than most hospitals, but he doesn’t mind your clutter. Only yours. Your clothes on the floor? He folds them. Your hair in the drain? He scoops it out. You could leave makeup all over the sink and papers scattered on the table and he wouldn’t say a thing, he just cleans around them. He once found your necklace tangled on the bathroom counter and spent thirty minutes undoing the knot before hanging it carefully on your nightstand.

~ Husband!Levi wears his wedding ring like armour. He’s not flashy. He didn’t want some expensive band, and he didn’t want to make a big deal about the ceremony. But that ring? He touches it constantly — when he’s thinking, when he’s irritated, when he misses you. It grounds him. If he has to take it off for work or training, he keeps it in a tiny cloth pouch tucked inside his inner jacket pocket, and he checks for it twice before putting his gear on.

~ Husband!Levi remembers every tiny thing about you, especially the things you forget. He knows your coffee order, your shoe size, what side of the bed you prefer, and exactly how long your bad moods last when you’re sleep-deprived. You’ll mention craving something in conversation, days later, it’s in the fridge. You’ll complain about a headache, he’ll hand you water and your preferred meds before you even ask. He doesn't make a show of it. He just...pays attention

~ Husband!Levi doesn’t verbalize “I love you”, but when he does, it means everything. He’s not careless with words. He’ll call you “brat” or “woman” or “pain in my ass,” but when it comes to the real thing, he doesn’t waste it. He says “I love you” on nights when the world feels too heavy. When you’re curled up in bed, when you’ve had a terrible day, when you’re not even looking at him and he can finally say it without being overwhelmed by your reaction. It’s always low, always gruff. Sometimes it slips out when he’s holding you too tight. Other times it’s whispered when he thinks you’re asleep.

~ Husband!Levi is physical, not in a lustful way, but in a grounding way. He needs to touch to believe you’re real. When you sit beside him, his hand will automatically land on your thigh. When your cooking, he’ll press a kiss to your shoulder. If you’re standing together in silence, he’ll brush his fingers along your arm or let your pinkies link. You once asked him if he even noticed how often he touched you. He stared for a moment and said, “Not really. Feels normal.” And that’s the thing with Levi, touching you isn’t supposed to be showy. It’s instinct.

~ Husband!Levi is surprisingly soft when you're sick or injured—even if you're being a stubborn brat about it. You could be sneezing nonstop, wrapped in a hundred blankets, claiming you’re “fine,” and he’ll just frown and say, “Bullshit.” He’ll monitor your temperature, feed you soup (homemade or not, he makes sure it’s hot), fluff your pillows, and glare at you if you try to get out of bed. The only time he ever truly panicked was when you got hurt badly once, he didn’t say much then, just held your hand until you came to, knuckles white from how hard he gripped you.

~ Husband!Levi doesn’t believe in grand romantic gestures, but you’ll never have to ask for flowers. He brings them anyway. Not for show. Just… when he’s thinking of you. He’ll come home after a long day, toss his coat on the chair, and hand you a small bouquet without saying anything. Sometimes they’re wildflowers, sometimes fresh lavender, sometimes from a stall near work. He acts like it’s no big deal. “Don’t make it weird,” he’ll say as you smile and coo over them, cheeks turning pink. But he likes seeing them in a vase on the windowsill. He glances at them every time he walks by.

~ Husband!Levi doesn’t smile much, not with his mouth, anyway. But with you, his whole face softens. His voice drops a little lower. His brows relax. His shoulders ease. You tell a bad joke, and while he doesn’t laugh, his lips twitch and he shakes his head like he can’t believe he married someone like you. He stares at you sometimes when you’re not looking—long, quiet stares filled with so much weight it knocks the breath out of you when you finally catch him. “Why are you looking at me like that?” you ask, grinning. He shrugs. “Just… still figuring out how I got this lucky.”

“I don’t want to be strong without you.” He admitted one night. You were looking over paperwork.

“Captain?” You whispered. When you stood up and walked toward him, he lifted a hand, stopping you.

To him, strength had always meant surviving alone, and now he couldn’t imagine going back to that feeling again.

Instead of reaching for your hand, he stepped forward and laced his fingers through yours.

Levi watched the battlefield the way he always did—cold, precise, and already anticipating who might not make it back. He had buried too many comrades to pretend he deserved a happy ending.

However, when you stood beside him, blades ready, he felt something he refused to name.

So he turned slightly. “I don’t need forever.” Levi said quietly as he adjusted your grip on the handle of your blade. His gray eyes went to yours for half a second. “Just survive.”

Nanami

I don’t need excitement. I don’t need chaos. I need you.

Most people thought a sorcerer’s life needed thrill, danger, and recklessness to survive.

But Kento Nanami had always despised that idea. There was nothing glamorous about exhaustion, blood, and the constant expectation of dying.

Someone offers him a cup of tea. He accepts it with a grunt. Then, without thinking: “Y/N puts the leaves in after the water. Keeps the bitterness down.”

Sasha tries to sneak something spicy into the stew. Levi eyes her flatly. “Y/N doesn’t like that much pepper. And don't you dare add sesame seeds, Y/N is allergic to it.”

Erwin once asked him about his plans for a free day. Levi blinked. Thought. “…Y/N was talking about going to that market in Trost. Might go.”

Sometimes it’s just… you.

“Y/N’s likes lilies.”

“Y/N saw this in a dream once and called it a bad omen.”

“I need to see where Y/N is.”

Like you live rent-free in his head (you do).

I like to think that one of the first thing Hange took a picture of is how Levi looks at you when you aren't watching.

Mostly just to prove to Levi because we all know he'd be in such DENIAL, he's so fucking UNAWARE of it, so CLUELESS like "no I don't like them like that" but he's looking at you like you brought the moon down to earth. and if Hange even tries to convince him he's like "go clean out your fucking glasses."

So Hange gets introduced to a camera. What better use of it when they see you and Levi, as you were explaining something to him enthusiastically, the sun hitting you just right and he's just. Not even listening. Just staring. With the softest eyes. Yearning. The palest flush on his cheeks, his lips slightly parted. And he looks like he could die there, like he'd sell his fucking soul if that means he gets to keep looking at you.

Hange snaps the picture. Shoves it to Levi's face like proof. "Look at yourself!"

Levi observed the picture blankly. Then. "Do you ever stop being a creep?"

To this day, that picture hangs in a frame in Hange's office, with a scribbled note under.

oh, your parents freeaaakkk out. what do you mean their child is dating the TITAN boy that they’ve heard so much about? last they heard, he went mad and all! when he meets them, you guys have to meet at a cafe or something cause they’re genuinely terrified he’s gonna accidentally transform, destroy their house and kill them. eren acts like something you’ve never seen before, he’s clearly extremely nervous. i’m talking posture straight, hands firmly in his lap, laughing at every joke your dad makes etc. even after the first meeting your parents were very concerned about your safety… however, after many more meet ups, many talks (and a lot of convincing) they come around to eren. they soon realise he’s just a young boy whose had some very strange, very bad luck. they call him ‘special’.

☆ mikasa ackerman

an angel, obviously. mikasa is the best of both worlds, let me explain; not only is she a bad bitch whose strength been compared to that of an army of 100 men, she’s also a really good cook & homemaker! she helps your parents with chores like laundry, helps your mum cook etc. and on the flip side, she can slit several titans napes in record time so, your parents KNOW your protected around her & she can make a lovely dinner too! anyways, she is still her reserved-self when meeting them but, she makes sure to engage in conversation to impress them. after the first meeting, your parents loved her! they thought she was timid but just a super sweet girl, although they had a lot of questions about her scar…

anyways! she’s definitely the type of girlfriend to talk shit about you with your own parents 😔. i just know you’ve walked into the kitchen on several occasions and mikasa is like “yeah i fold all of y/n’s clothes back in the barracks” and your parents are like “what?! that lazy git!” then you walk in and everyone’s side eyeing you…

another angel i fear. quick everyone act surprised!! he’s totally and utterly nervous but, he puts on a brave face for you. however, by the time you guys are leaving, you’re walking out the front door, waving and saying your goodbyes.. after that front door shuts, armin starts grinning from ear to ear looking proper cheeky cause he KNOWS he’s just impressed them so much. your parents adore this boy!! and he knows it!! you poke and tease him for being so nervous earlier just to end up being like this but, seriously he’s so happy.

your parents could tell he was nervous from the get-go, his hands were shaking when he shook their hands bless him! they made sure to put in extra effort to make him feel super welcomed and comfortable, and clearly it worked. they really like him too i mean, what’s there not to like about armin? he’s incredibly intelligent, a sweet soul and loves their child, what more could they want?!

oh, when you meet jeans mum, she is just totally over the moon to have you round her house. and you just know you’re eating GOOODDD while you are there!! she is the warmest, most welcoming lady ever, she announces you as her child the moment you step through the door!

she genuinely adores you and wants you guys to get on sooo badly, she’s definitely overbearing (in a very nice way) at first and you feel sort of awkward… it’s a lot to take in & it’s all very fast and very aaahhhh!! however, after the first initial meeting within a few hours, she’s calmed down from the excitement, everyone is filled up with food and tired, so now you finally have a chance to have a nice, normal conversation and it was… amazing! as if she didn’t already love you now, she really loves you. also, jean turns into a total mamas boy when you go over her house.

☆ sasha braus

your parents had heard of her food loving ways from you and thankfully for sasha, your parents happen to be quite wealthy… wealthy enough to afford meat. they made sure to prepare a buffet for your guys’ arrival and this made her feel so happy and so welcomed :’). this definitely started a very quick and immediate spark between her and your parents.

we cant forget about sasha’s family, although it’s more difficult to meet them as they live in the wilderness. it took you a few months of dating sasha to meet her family & trust, they make you do everything they do m’kay. you get a bit of leeway because you’re new and don’t understand their way of living but, you’re going on hunts with them. this, as nerve wracking as it was, was actually a great way to bond!! you really bonded with sasha’s family over this mostly because you continuously asked for help so, they kinda had to talk to you… but, seriously it was great! (also you didn’t understand them very well through the whole trip because of their accents… lol)

☆ connie springer

oh, your parents are now his parents. sorry, he’s the favourite child, you and your siblings are cast aside when connie arrives on the scene. on a serious note, after his family’s death, he truly hasn’t been the same - it was heartbreaking for him in many ways and one being that they would never meet you. when you told your parents about this, they welcomed connie with open arms and made sure he felt more like a son than just their child’s partner.

and that happened, let me tell you. he’s actually their son, their favourite baby boy, i’m so serious😭. he gets babied and doted on more than you or your siblings AND oh my god, he bickers with your siblings too like poking them, tickling them, just ticking them off a littleeeee bit. but he makes up for it cause he does spoil them a lot too so they do really love him. he’s got the whole family wrapped around his little finger! your parents obviously just absolutely adore him and everything he does.

such a gentleman, i think your mum (and dad) almost fell for him and your grandma definitely wanted a piece of this guy😭😭. i mean he turned up to the house arm in arm with you with PRESENTS, greeted himself extremely politely to your parents and your grandma, even kissing her a kiss on the hand (that’s when she swooned). he actually acted like a prince he was so polite and gentlemanly. and trust, he pulled out all the stops with jokes and stories just making your family love him even more, what a charismatic boy!

him and your grandma are the BEST of friends because tell me why you came home to see your lovely boyfriend in the barracks and he was just gone? THEN, when he came home later that evening, you found out he’d been shopping with your grandma? excuse me? he literally hangs out with her on his own!! but, don’t even get me started on the guilt and dread he feels knowing he hides a secret from now not only his partner but his partners lovely, welcoming family whom he’s grown to love too.

☆ annie leonhart

sweet, quiet girl next door vibes dare i say… only around your parents obviously, she can’t be seen in that light by anyone else. she just turns into the sweetest, most timid girl around your mum it was crazy! you obviously knew she wasn’t going to be her typical self like she is in training or whatever but, it was shocking how much she changed😭.

she offered to help your mum with cooking even though she wasn’t very good at it, so her and your mum bonded a lot over teaching her how to cook during the first meeting and several meetings after that. ever since the first time meeting your mum, annie has been taught to cook by her and she cooks you your mums meals all the time :’).

she yearns for you to meet her father. she loves him and you so much, she just knows your two would get on so well but, the circumstances just don’t allow that. but, in a way, she’s grateful for you and now your mother even if she does miss her father dearly, she’s happy to have a parent again & one that likes her so much!

☆ bertolt hoover

oh sweet boy is tossing and turning all night long thinking about having to meet your parents. he’s filled with nerves & your parents try their absolute hardest to make him feel comfortable but, everyone can tell he’s really on edge the whole time. that was until, he had a chance to play with your younger sibling. i don’t know if it’s because they’re young and therefore less threatening (and theres less of a need to impress them) but, bertolt really shone when he was with your younger sibling!! you saw the bert you knew except a bit more family-friendly.

safe to say, they grew an incredible bond from this point forward & it actually helped him become more comfortable around the adults in your family. obviously your parents thought his tenderness toward your younger sibling was just the sweetest. they thought their child is so lucky to have such a gentle soul as their boyfriend!

oh, he’s probably the worst out of everyone 😭😭. he’s so, shocked that you still have your parents? and siblings? he never really thought he’d end up in this situation so, i think externally he seems fine, he’s so nonchalant but, internally he’s freaking out baddddd.

when you first suggest the idea of him meeting your family, he outright wants to refuse (he doesn’t) but, he’s so terrified and i’m not being funny, this guy is supposed to be humans strongest solider and he’s getting ANXIETY over just regular people?! this is making him crash out. he agrees to meet them but trust, he makes sure his schedule is filled for the next month so he has extra time to freak the fuck out.

the day finally arrives, levi literally looks like he has a stick up his arse. his posture is crazy, his answers feel rehearsed (they are) LIKE he just needs to calm down. you have to give him a gentle squeeze of the hand, shoulder or knee to just rellaxxxx & he does, you can see him exhale and his shoulders become slump.

after a few more reassuring squeezes, taps and light shoves, he loosens up becoming less rehearsed and just being more real, more levi. your family think he’s just reserved but, he seems nice enough and of course, he’s like practically famous in paradis so… your family are pretty happy, lol. they’re a bit upset he’s seems awkward around them but, they understand he’s different around you & it’s always awkward meeting the family for the first time!!

☆ erwin smith

literally so calm and chill. i feel like out of everyone, he’s had the most relationship experience, he’s been there and done that, you know? he knows what parents want to hear or see from their child’s partner.

he is perfect. he’s not too uptight or too polite, he makes well-timed jokes and even jabs at the most playful family members which gets them giggling. he makes sure to show you small physical affection which in turn, your family notice and appreciate you two seem so in love. he makes sure to offer to do things such as, help set up the table, carry big bowls or heavy items to the table & trust; he is complimenting the shiiittt out of the food.

he’s just got this whole meeting the family thing down to an art form, honestly. i’m making it sound like he’s done this a million times, he hasn’t and to be fair, this is just his usual self just turned up a notch so your family love him that bit extra 😆.

and they do. they freaking love him. like i said, he was perfect! who doesn’t love perfect? your dad definitely wants to go golf with him, he’s obsessed.

☆ hange zoë

oh my, what an experience… definitely the kind of person to yap their way into being loved, haha. as soon as they enter your home it’s a lot “oh my god, so lovely to finally meet you! yeah, i’m amazing so, today actually something crazy happened—” “oh, i love the way you decorated the place, did you make this?” so casual, so talkative, so comfortable almost immediately even though (hange claims), they’re holding back the full extend of their personality, just giving them a glimpse.

your family loved this way of introducing and integrating themselves into the family though, it felt like a piece of the puzzle had been found when hange entered your home, even during the first meeting. your parents LOVE hange’s story and hyper energy. they bring life into the living room!

levi is a total gentleman at heart. regardless of his stoic and mean demeanor, he is really respectful towards women. (go ahead and ignore what happened with historia and him in the manga for me real quick :p)

even if its in small ways, i think he does show more respect to women then men. like he'd never hit a girl (unless they were his enemy he had to fight of course) and even then, he wouldn't like it. he has more class to him. he'd move out of the way in a crowded space, letting them go first, defending them when someone gets too touchy or disturbing, opening doors for them, pulling a chair out for them to sit..

weather they're just a cadet or a female in his life, he'd be a lot more gentle with them than he is with men.
