Her brain still foggy from the antics of the last few evenings, Ivy dressed herself and slipped out to explore the limited areas she could. It was quite the adjustment for her, not being able to wear her choice of clothing, or go where she wanted… oh well, she shrugged the thought and found herself a place to sit in the library. Pulling out a piece of scrap paper and a semi blunt pencil, it wasn’t the ideal set up but it was what she could scrape together.
Walking through into the library Ivy flicked her eyes across the room and found a comfortable chair to rest in. She pulled her long red locks to one side and curled her legs up beside her, and began to sketch one of the people contently reading, hoping they wouldn’t notice. Each of the residents here were so stunning she was sure she’d have a folder filled with sketches of model-esque muses in no time. As she gazed up to continue surveying their features they looked up and toward her a little confused, Ivy smiled and laughed “uh sorry, you’ll either find this flattering or weird but I was sketching you?”
One of the best things an author could do was read other books in their downtime. After spending much of the weekend outside, Austin was pleased enough to find a quiet corner to take a book he’d meant to read for over a month now. He’d submitted his latest chapters to the publisher, and all he could think to do while he waited feedback was to lose himself in the words of someone he admired. Since about seven that morning, he did just that. It wasn’t until movement from the corner of his eye caught his attention that he realized he’d been mentally away for some time. The master adjusted his frames and replayed what she’d said in his head. Hearing someone speak out loud after hours of reading to himself was surreal. It took him a moment to comprehend the verbal speech.
Once he collected himself, a hesitant smile crossed his lips. “Well, that would depend, wouldn’t it? Are you any good?” Finding his bookmark, he marked his place in the book before setting it to the side turning his full attention to the artist. Austin extended one hand in encouragement. “Let’s see.”
