(keeping the fics on anon tho) Derek dies in this au, and his soul then gets stuck in Avery's computer. He now "lives" with Avery. He can appear as a ghost or the computer-sprite that Avery bought for him. (sorta like those desk-pet sprites) this blog is based off this series of fics!!

Ay Derek. Since you can like, instacart things to Avery's apartment. Could you not also instacart over like, PC parts or something? Like. get yourself a better PC to live in yk?

Actually. Which part of the PC are you tied to? Is it all the parts or like, just the CPU? The motherboard? What happens if that part wears out and dies? They all do over time eventually.

I don't know? It's never crossed my mind, really. Plus, I wouldn't want to bother Avery with it. He already does enough for me. As for what part of the laptop I'm tied to, I think it's all of the parts, maybe. The computer has shut down before, and I've been relatively fine.

"I used to have pet slimes in Minecraft, and, uh, he looks cool. That's pretty much it."

How would that work?? Slimes are hostile, right?

What are you favorite genres of games to play?

Adventure games are fun, And horror games. I like anything where I can just walk around. Story-based games feel too constricting sometimes.

"I like fighting games! I started playing them a bunch after I kinda stopped playing Minecraft."

More Souls and Screens thoughts.

Derek can “play” the games on Avery’s computer, often treating them like worlds of their own. What does this mean if he finds the gates in every universe?

I touched on it in one of the fics, but I like to think that the gates exist in every game Derek plays, he just has to search hard enough.

Some are more obvious than others, and upon opening them the computer just crashes, unable to be turned back on for hours.

Imagine Avery just sitting in front of a black screen, thinking that he’s somehow lost Derek for a second time.

Imagine a sprite version of Fake!Avery. A hodgepodge of other game sprites with a green/yellowish tint to it. It stumbles across the desktop with no purpose whatsoever.

Souls and Screens Fake!Avery being some weird photobashed equivalent of Smile Dog or smth. Like, a flash of a messed up sprite when Avery opens a file, only to immediately have the contents of the book from the church become full screened. SaS Derek is inspired by rpgmaker sprites, visual novels, and deskpets, so I think it'd be cool if SaS Fake!Avery was inspired by those old, bad creepypastas and chainmail messages. You know, the ones that always mention "hyper realistic" eyes and such, things like that. I remember being in love with a game called "It's Snowing" a few years ago. It's a pretty short game but the sprites and jump scares are just so cool, especially if you know what happens in it (not gonna spoil it, obvi). I've always admired the mechanics in it, because they're so simple but so effective.

The end of the game has these really, really fun jump scares. They're just well edited faces, more unsettling than anything else, but they work so well and I feel like something similar to that would be really fun for SaS Fake!Avery.

yo you dont needa watch the video or anything. just look at the face in the thumbnail (not the sprite) and look at how Cool the photo editing is. like its literally just grayscale with some extra stuff and yet its so Cool! look at the eyes!!!! like, it's so Fun! it's such a fun jump scare!!!!!! like just imagine something like that with fakevery in the computer like omgggggggg
