my experience at the detective conan cafe in osaka
I just came back from japan again! still couldn't drag myself all the way to conan town due to a packed travelling schedule (one day, I promise) so I settled for the cafe in osaka this time :)

I went with my friend Jerry who is also a fan of the manga. We did not make any reservations and there was no lineup at 6:00PM on a Monday (I went on July 14th to be exact).
The staff do not speak any English so best to learn conversational Japanese before heading there otherwise you will have to rely on translation apps (although I have faith in all conan fans to know some Japanese by now after 1000+ episodes of anime HAHAHA although after spending 3+ weeks in Japan in the past year I have never needed to use "ah-le-le" ><).
Staff basically will ask you what time you want to eat and you just pick a time slot. All slots were open the day that we were there. We were taken inside right away. You can order only once and everyone must order one menu item.
In total we ordered 4 things amongst the two of us: 1) melon soda 2) bowtie rice and pasta 3) somen noodles 4) detective conan ice cream sandwiches. Came to around 5500 YEN ($50 CAD) for everything. After paying for your meal, you can also purchase from the cafe merch section. This is only limited to cafe customers too. There was not a huge selection of merch unfortunately. I didn't get anything but my friend got a Kogoro stand (blind box style) and it is quite cute!
Food taste was average for me. Melon soda was very syrup-y (you can tell by the colour of the drink) and the main course was mid to be honest. My friend's noodles did taste better though. Ice cream was mid as well, 7-11 def has better ice cream LOL.

They also gave me a lot of souvenirs to take home. But only one per table so me and my friend had to split it HAHA.
Also side note I kept getting Kazami for everything!!! Coaster, drink tag etc.. I don't know if it is because I am a foreigner and they wanted to get rid of stock and they thought that I didn't know or watch Conan but it was suspiciously many Kazami merch they handed to me HAHHAHA. I don't mind though, the guy is cool.
All in all a cool experience. There isn't too too much to see or do inside considering it is just a pop up. I'll attach photos showing most of the decorations.

These sketches were framed and hung were the most exciting part imo.
We also had non-sketches too! Love the variety.
They were playing the trailer to the new movie on the screen the entire night on repeat hahaha feel like if they played actual episodes it would be cooler.
overall rating a 7.5/10 for my experience there! Fun but not an absolute must :)
P.S. found this at animate in Ikebukuro in Tokyo a week later. I did purchase a blindbox from this collection and I pulled HEIJI <3
