Nobody has made a confessions blog for conclave yet so I did!

I desperately want a fic written by someone with more talent than me, to be about Vincent getting blackmailed into sexual assault by Tedesco but then Thomas (and maybe Aldo) find out and stop it and then all together go on the long journey of healing.

Or a more detailed prompt — Vincent had been blackmailed for a long time by Tedesco who Vincent had initially selected as the Secretary of State when Aldo said he needed time away from the Vatican. He picked Tedesco as a way to reach across the aisle and try to work with the conservative faction but Tedesco started blackmailing him very quickly and the papacy turned into a nightmare. Thomas was also gone at first because Vincent encouraged him to take a few months long break after the conclave when he hears that Thomas had tried to retire before. Maybe Ray or Giulio was made temporary dean of cardinals but either way, people around him understood something bad was happening but dismissed it because nothing bad could really happen to the pope of course.

And then one day Tedesco dies abruptly and the Vatican is thrown into chaos. Thomas comes back immediately and so does Aldo to take on the role of Secretary of State again. But Vincent knows that Thomas and Aldo and Ray are the only ones who know about his condition and now Vincent is a nervous wreck and treats both Aldo and Thomas with an over abundance of caution and seems to anticipate weird things like he thinks they will want him to constantly prove he’s a good and deserving pope by suffering in front of them somehow (like praying through the night until his knees give out, like skipping meals, having perfect work done, etc.)

Tedesco used to taunt Vincent that he wasn’t really deserving of the papacy because of his biology and also because of the sin he participated in through his assault. Of course he wasn’t willingly participating but this kind of violence does funny things to your head and makes you start to believe things that aren’t true. So Vincent is essentially conditioned to constantly try and please Thomas and Aldo and has expectations of himself that are impossible to meet.

While he doesn’t think Thomas and Aldo want to be sexual with him at first, he realizes their interest in him which freaks him out because he also longed for it but was worried he would taint them and their souls with his unworthiness. Eventually Thomas aldo and Vincent do kinda start a romantic entanglement when Vincent is starting to get more relaxed because he wasn’t being punished and realized he was relatively safe. But starting that, even though it’s something he very much wants, is scary and triggering. The first time Vincent sees Thomas and Aldo having sex he freaks out and thinks he needs to offer that to them and he had wanted to but he wanted to ease into it but seeing them together made him feel pressured like that they must want that now and they won’t wait forever and he’s withholding and all kinds of negative things. So he offers himself to them but it ends up being painfully clear to Thomas and Aldo that Vincent is terrified. They have to talk to Vincent and be like “why are you so scared of us” and Vincent tries to deny it at first but eventually is worried when they say they don’t believe him and he is like “no no wait I am not lying to you I wouldn’t lie I’m sorry” and tells them everything and they are horrified and the healing journey actually begins when they know.

It’s slow going and Vincent still has to work through bad ideas about himself and his body and Thomas and Aldo help him with that.

This is my big dream for a fic! I have tried to write it but conclave fic writers are imo the best fic writers out there rn. Some people have written the most beautiful, gut wrenching yet heartwarming fics in the world. I think I want this fic because I love Vincent and projecting on Vincent and seeing him go through some whump but then heal through the power of love would be great. If anyone wants to write this or something like this PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE feel free!

I'm kinda depressed at the moment (I actually have things or lack of things going on in my life and it isn't just rumination this time) so I'm going to journal and rewrite the journal as if it was Lawrence / Lomeli having these thoughts / feelings and post it on ao3 to make me feel better.

Is this a safe space to say that I hate it when people overly feminize Vincent? I'm not talking about giving him a vagina or breasts, I'm referring to people who feminize him to the point where he could pass as someone's oc.

This man did not survive war zones and a crisis of faith just to be turned into a tradwife.

and maybe he is still friends with Thomas and comes to Rome for the Conclave because they both fear Thomas will become a pope so they want to have their last hurrah together

and maybe Thomas is stressed and on edge

and maybe that results in them sleeping together

This fandom death is so complicated to me because we aren’t really dying per se? It’s more there is a majority of people or fixation in people that has waned off, but there is still a harder core. Myself included. I had a psychosis when I first became fixated on this fandom (long story short: don’t overwork yourself it’s not worth it) and since then it’s engraved on my brain.

I’m still writing and drawing but it’s not taking up as much space anymore. It’s become a regular in my rotation of fixations and probably will remain there. Is that fandom death? I guess it depends on what you define that to be. Either way, I am slowly writing on my fic and drawing Vincent.
