Dream Creature #61: The Harpy
Encountered at the end of a dream (April 27, 2014). The Harpy acted as the guardian of a graveyard, perching atop the ruins of a mausoleum. In spite of her appearance, she had a wise, gentle demeanor, but had to be approached with caution. Her most unique feature was the underside of her wings: brilliant white and sporting markings similar to an inkblot/Rorschach. The markings continuously shifted in appearance and would entrance anyone unfortunate enough to see them, making the victims easy prey to snatch up into her talons.
During the dream, she made short work of an intruder to the graveyard before turning to me. In her anger, she opened her wings wide to display the anomolous undersides. The last thing I remember seeing is the image of the inkblot being burned into my mind before she leapt from the mausoleum and dove toward me with her talons outstretched....
Ees a grumpy old birb. I feel like she should have a name.
Wings and overall body shape modeled after a Griffon Vulture (Gyps fulvus)
