I'm almost done with my largest crochet project, so here's a couple details from behind the scenes 🌿🌙
i keep seeing this on my timeline, so let me be clear
judaism is semi-closed. practices related to judaism require a barrier for entry. judaism is an indigenous religion and reserve the right to protect their cultural practices.
lilith is not open. kabbalah is not open. jewish mystism is not open.
there are ways to learn about these things and get involved in a community that do not involve stealing from indigenous cultures. in fact, you are less of a witch if your craft is stealing from closed and marginalized communities.
jewish people deserve to feel safe and to be welcomed with open arms into the witchcraft and practitioner community
I actually don't believe Lilith is not open .-. The myth of Lilith wasn't even original in their bible—it was originated in the Middle Ages, and I doubt most Jews even care or know about Lilith, because they should be believing in Yeshua, no? Wouldn't worshipping Lilith be a sin for then? (Not that Jewish people cannot do witchcraft or be pagan, but most definitely don't and their traditional religion wouldn't be in the favor of the ones who do) Why don't people argue theistic Satanism is stealing from them as well then.
Second, Lilith it is said that pre-dates the bible, originating from an ancient goddess of mesopotamia called Lilitu, who had nothing to do with Lilith.
Edit: Now if I don't use that, then Lilith as a word was used to describe monsters (and can be exchanged for the world Lamia), not an actual being. Lilith as Adam's first wife only appeared centuries later.
And speaking about the Lamia, if anyone here is familiar with Greco-Roman monsters, it was a female monster that preyed on children. So did Lilitu, as her job was to kill children.
2nd edit: So I am going to say it clearly: if anyone thinks Lilith is closed, that's bullshit, she was only assimilated by Judaism later and watered down over the centuries. Why don't people argue Satan and Lucifer are closed? Right, they don't and they can't. It's always about Lilith.
Do some research before hunting down Lilith's worshippers. Jewish mysticism is not open and I don't encourage anyone who's not jew to pursue it, but Lilith/Lilitu is. So if you want to worship Lilitu, do it. Actual facts before victimization.
Holy shit do you know nothing about Judaism. The amount of chutspah it takes to say "actual facts before victimization" when you don't even know who the Jewish Gd is is staggering.
I'm surprised no one else has commented on this but Jewish people do not, never have, and never will worship Christ.
But yes, we don't worship Lilith either, because Lilith is the reason for/personification of why women die in labor, why babies are stillborn, of infant mortality.
Lilith, as a figure/force to be warded off not to be worshipped.
And regarding your complaints that no one says Satan worship isn't open, Judaism doesn't have the concept of Hell the way Christianity does nor does Judaism have a devil figure. Both of those are Christian concepts not found in Judaism.
But also, regarding your comment about Lilith not being in the bible, you do realize that Judaism is a religion on its own and that Jewish people have existed and continue to exist through history, yes? We aren't frozen in a moment of time but a living breathing people. Arguing that something came later than biblical times isn't actually an argument against something being Jewish.
@kchan3s The name "Lilith" refers exclusively to a figure from Jewish folklore.
Her name is etymologically related to the words for other demons, but those are different words and different names.
And if you claim someone is worshiping something other than the figure from Jewish folklore that has a different name -- then why the fuck aren't you using that other name instead. The math ain't hard on this one.
As long as I can remember, people have been debating whether or not it's okay for non-Jewish witches to incorporate Lilith into their practi
theistic Satanism is a reaction to Christianity that steals a bunch from Christianity, yes? so I bet, if nobody actually is arguing that theistic Satanism is stealing from Judaism, it's only because theistic Satanism and Judaism see each other as afterthoughts to Christianity
I bet that's also one part of why nobody says Satan worship isn't open, the other part being how many Christians say everyone who isn't [their flavor of] Christian is worshipping Satan

Sometimes the most spiritual thing you can do is clean your room, open the window, and let the air move again. Energy needs circulation just like lungs do.
Domestic Witchery: Blessing What You Clean With
I think I've mentioned before that I love cleaning. I mean, don't get me wrong- if my home just stayed clean all the time without intervention, that would be the dream. But, for me, it's easy to really let everything else fall away while I clean, and that makes it that much more natural for me to weave a little extra magic into the mundane tasks.
One of my favorite ways to do this is by blessing whatever I'm using to clean with. It's a simple process. I'll pause and hold whatever I'm using in my hand. Duster, rag, mop, whatever. Then I set my intention. I remind myself that this isn't just about cleaning away physical dirt and dust. I ask that it helps me to cleanse away stagnant energy, lingering tensions and anxieties, and anything else that doesn't belong.
One thing I love about domestic witchery is that it really is so simple as to use whatever you have on hand. A whispered bless to a dish sponge, a moment of gratitude for my broom. These little moments work as well for me as smoke cleansing.
Mother Hestia’s Warmth & Light 🕯️
Whipped this up pretty quickly for a devotional art event in a server! I had to draw Mother first, of course! She always comes first. 🧡💛
Gonna start telling chatgpt people to replace it with divination for their random decision-making. Maybe the cards should take a crack at telling you what to have for lunch
It does involve yknow learning a skill and interpreting symbols i.e. "effort" and "thinking" which might scare them off but it has to be better for your brain to be like hmmm idk. I'm gonna throw some bones about it
At least the pendulum can tell you no. That's half of its whole job
[ID: tags from @serpentae that read, "#misc #tfw your friend uses tarot cards for stuff and then asks chatgpt to interpret them (skull emoji)" /end ID]
Hey, 1 question: what is the fucking point then
sustainability with lady hestia
natural soap {chamamile, lavender - everything with a calming scent fits hestia best}
bamboo toothbrush & hairbrush/comb
glass jar everywhere {make a random jar your little "offering jar", or use a little one as a candle holder}
reusable period products like pads, cups or underwear
library card {public spaces like that are very hestia-codded}
damaged clothes as rags
reusable grocery bags
reusable tea strainer instead of paper bags {i think every hestia worshiper is addicted to tea}
Magical texts are not a single genre. Obviously texts of the "learnéd traditions" and texts of the "folk traditions" are two different things entirely. But even texts that originate from within the same region and sometimes time period have different genres and contain magic from different periods. Not everything is a Black Book because it comes from Scandinavia. Books categorized as hausvaterlitteratur contain magic but are neither "learnéd grimoires" or folk grimoires. Books of "Art- and Wonder-" also contain magic but are neither Black Books nor grimoires. Handwritten copies of Cyprian materials with a couple of other charms are also not Black Books.
Genres of magical texts go beyond academic writing, mass market writing and personal writing. Classifications exist even within primary source texts. And, if you are strict about adhering to a specific tradition, they are important to analyze and understand.
the cycle of life
practices to bond with your deities
i'm most familiar with Greco-Roman deities so i'll use them for examples, but feel free to ask me about a specific deity! which Greco-Roman deity you should work according to your birth chart indications
communication
say "good morning" / "good night" - this is not only out of respect but developing a habit to include them more and more in day to day life
talk to them - whether you're expressing gratitude, praying, asking for advice, or even just talking to them about your day, this will show you are thinking about them and looking up to them. if you feel uncomfortable or can't talk out loud, a journal works just as well
write to them - speaking or journaling, writing is an art form they will appreciate. make journal entries to them, write them a poem or a song. it doesn't have be a fancy, even just phrases here and there will make a huge difference
document your experiences - after spending time with them, write down how it went. keep track of what they seem to like, what they tell you, even small details that don't seem to stick out because when you go back and look, they might stick out then or you might notice patterns
share your food - giving your deity a small portion of your food each time you eat is a way to communicate your honor and respect to them, and also learn what foods/drinks they enjoy
divination - this is more than just tarot cards! there's other forms of cartomancy, there's dowsing, numerology, etc. i personally use astrology <3
connect with their energy - doing activities that appeal to your deity regularly with strengthen your connection with them. for example, my deities are Diana/Artemis and Luna/Selene, so I spend a lot of time in nature, especially at night under the moonlight
honoring
research them in great detail - to get to know your deity, learn everything there is to know: names and epithets, symbols, attributes (plants trees, stones, animals, planets, week days, etc.) domains, family, popular stories and myths
cook a full meal - you can decide on a meal that is associated with them (like steak for Mars/Ares) but you don't have to, either way just dedicating time and energy to make an entire meal just for them will say a lot
altar - this is probably what you will hear the most, but don't feel heavy pressure. it doesn't have to be huge, fancy, or expensive; you can start out with literally just a candle and some leaves. slowly over time decorate and personalize it to your and your deity's liking
offerings - this is more than just sharing your food with them, it's actually giving something solely to them. have you ever been in the mood for a certain food even though you weren't hungry at all? that might be them hinting that they want it. gifts that you think they'd like or you felt called to get, including crafts you made yourself
share your worship - i want to say this is 100% not a necessity, so don't feel stressed if there is no one you can talk to about your deity work. i have no one to talk to about it, but i share freely on this blog and am trying to make friends online who i can share with! not only is sharing a way to show respect and love for them, but others can give you ideas of devotion and connection
creation/digital
going digital is a great way to worship and connect with your deity, especially if you cannot be open about it
make a playlist - include songs that remind you of them or that you'd think they'd like that involve their domains or stories/myths
art - literally any form of art they will appreciate. music like singing or songwriting, drawing, painting, sculpture, literature like reading books they'd like or writing stories, poems, songs, etc., dancing, theater or acting, or literally anything else. you can get specific, like learning an instrument for Apollo
exploring - exploring areas you think they'd like or just new areas in general. you might find points of interest they'd enjoy (like crossroads for Hecate), or see/hear their sacred animals, or find things that coincide with their stories/attributes/symbols
spending time with them through hobbies - the best way i can describe this is through examples: going to parties/celebrating for Bacchus/Dionysus, cleaning and taking care of your home for Vesta/Hestia, gardening for Ceres/Demeter or Proserpina/Persephone, taking care of the ocean for Neptune/Poseidon, the list goes on and on. anything that involves their domain
pinterest board - kinda self explanatory, making a pinterest board (or a physical picture board/wall if you prefer) with images of your deity and their symbols/attributes.
phone background - setting your phone background as an image or your deity is not only a sign of honor and respect, but will help you develop the habit of thinking of them regularly. can also spark conversation with others without being direct about your worship!

Humans have been eating meals in honor of the memory of our lost loved ones for as long as humans have been human…and probably even proto-human.
PLEASE I'm begging the neopagan girlies to stop spreading misinformation online, because I've just seen someone argue in earnest that the UK government has banned swimming in the ancient geo-thermal spring at Bath due to a hatred of 'native Celtic spirituality', and completely ignoring the fact that it was closed after a girl contracted a brain-eating amoeba and fucking died
Ancient geo thermal spring at Bath perfec t size for put girlie n to n\ap! inside very Soft and Comfort woman bathe soundly put girl in Geo Thermal Spring. Put Neopagan In Spring. no problems ever in sprinng because good Amoeba and Water for girl brain weak of big girl head. Ancient geothermal spring yes a place for a person put neopagans in ancient celtic water can trust spring in Bath for giveing good love to girlie. friend amoeba.
I visited this place in the 90s and they didn't let you swim in it then. I'm kind of surprised that they started letting people swim in it again. It's an archaeological site. It does not exist in the form it did when people regularly swam in it.
Native Celtic spirituality involves swimming in Roman built baths?
Oh man, my shitpost has broken containment, so I must add some points for clarity:
the Baths have been closed since 1978; I genuinely have no idea why this became a point of discourse in the year of our lord 2026, but that's TikTok for you (or, more accurately, Instagram reels, because I will never view a single TikTok in my life, I am 33 and I cannot be doing it)
and now to the meatier point: yes, the Baths themselves are Roman, but the geo-thermal spring that forms the basis of the Baths was already a sacred site for the pre-Roman Celtic people who lived in the area. Archaeological evidence is pretty firm on this. A cool, groovy fact about the Romans is that a lot of their religion (and just their imperial tactics in general) was based on the principles of syncretism. In practice, this means incorporating beliefs, practices or deities from one religion into another. The Romans figured out that, rather than suppress all local religion, it was easier to allow the people in the areas that you've conquered to continue to worship their gods, with the caveat that you're going to really highlight the similarities between their gods and yours, and strongly suggest that their gods are really just versions of yours, because Roman superiority, or something. This is called interpretatio Romana for the Latin freaks out there. Before the Romans turned up, the springs at Bath were already a worship site for the Celtic goddess, Sulis. The Romans looked at Sulis, waved their arms about a bit, and said 'cool, so Minerva, yeah?' and built the Baths on that site, dedicated to Sulis-Minerva - a version of the Celtic Sulis which was syncretised with the Roman Minerva. The Celtic people got to keep a version of their god, the Romans got their Baths, and everyone was happy, damp, and warm. In theory, anyway. That's not really how imperialism works, but y'know.
Can't believe I had to break out my MA in Myth, Narrative and Theory for a goddamn shitpost, but that's why this site remains elite.
