The last pallet of Shiraz....
Last month we launched the cracking 2011 Turkey Flat Shiraz into the big, wide world - oh boy, has it flown out the door! In fact the 2011 Butchers Block Red, released at the same time, is winging it by Shiraz's side. Stocks in the warehouse are extremely low - we'd be happy if they were at these levels by this time NEXT year! We have heard from many of you, including our most die-hard Shiraz fans, stating that you will place your order on the release of the rest of our 2011 range. If you want to get your hands on either of these wines, please do not wait that long, or you WILL miss out. The quality of this wine is at the usual, high Turkey Flat standard, but don't just take it from us, Campbell Mattinson wrote the following of the Shiraz in January: 2011 SHIRAZ The famous Turkey Flat Barossa shiraz from one of the coolest, wettest years anyone can remember... You won’t find a more composed, meticulously crafted Barossa shiraz. This tastes as though it’s been fussed over.... It’s reflective of the season, and therefore different to previous releases. It’s peppery, for starters. There’s a clear note of coffee grounds, but it is in no way oak dominant. There’s a darkness to the fruit, in terms of flavour, but a lightness in terms of intensity or weight. Not “light”: just lighter than usual. There are dried herb notes and well honed, well ripened, nutty tannins. I think it’s a quality wine, but it may just appeal to cool climate shiraz drinkers more than it does warm climate shiraz drinkers. Rated : 91+ Points Alcohol : 14.5% Price : $42 Closure : Screwcap Drink : 2015 - 2020 Seriously, we don't want you to miss out. No-one likes a gap in their vertical collection, do they?
