stages a man hunt involving the entire town and the wereboys because bella was lost in the woods for a few hours
goes from having a daughter who gets great grades, holds down a job, cooks dinner for the two of them, and has a chill boyfriend (pun intended) to having a catatonic antisocial zombie who stares out windows
*correction: bella keeps her grades up, has a job, and cooks dinner… just kinda robotically

helps her understand that what she’s going through happens, is normal, and that he’s there for her

when alice pops up charlie let’s her stay at the house, makes her feel at home, cooks her breakfast, and doesn’t hold her brother’s actions against her
when he’s faced with edward after they get back from italy, he doesn’t let him forget the pain he caused bella and holds him accountable

charlie, before bella came to forks, didn’t have much experience being a dad or with teenagers but he was there for her every step of the way in new moon and he needs more love
