eleanor glances at him, suspicion arousing within her as her hues flicker towards the coins in his hand - stolen no doubt, yet who was she to pass judgment. urchins were not a uncom- mon sight to behold but one venturing into her tavern…was.
‘put your money away…it’s no good here.’ some fraction of her almost tells him to be on his way and she breezes past him as though she’s about to. yet her steps falter and she glances back at him over her shoulder, ‘follow me.’
the boy remains in place when she told him to put the copper coins away and he near fled, part of him figuring it would be best to leave as quick as possible as to not cause trouble. but he also wanted to argue, because he has money and that ought to buy him something to eat. it isn't fair of her to turn a paying person away! but then she speaks again and he slowly slips the coins back into his pocket carefully. conn hesitates for a moment before nodding and doing as he's told, trailing along behind the woman. he's wary, though, that much is clear in his face as wide blue eyes inspect the building around them, figuring what the best way to run will be should it come down to that. as it is now he'll just be quiet and follow the woman. people like quiet children, right?
