Okay so on one hand yeah its toxic and whatnot, but on the other hand holy shit this is actually some great aro/ace bdsm representation. For me an an asexual who is into bdsm, it is an experience detached from sex. Its separate from platonic feelings but its not romantic, it’s a connection entirely its own.

Theres no denying it, Im a bit of a freak. Ive been known to enjoy some of the weirdest bdsm-adjacent content known to yuri. But this was the line for me. I read it through out of a vague morbid curiosity but honestly this was just gross. Both characters are cruel to each other and themselves and each time I think one will finally snap they somehow end up deriving some sick pleasure from the mistreatment they receive. Every side character is malicious and insane in their own right. And it all just builds up and up until they eventually just kill themselves at the end. Sorry for the spoiler but like yeah idk what else you’d expect with a comic this fucked up.

Koushin Koinu Ni Koibumi Wo by Tamasaki Tama

New top ten of all time I think. Indou is so silly and passionate and Kagami is so ahhhh dhdhkxk. Also one of the few comics I’ve read that actually acknowledges the sexuality of the characters. Like it’s not just two girls in love, but two lesbians in love.

Okay so this comic was perfect for me. First and foremost the mc is a 2chan user and the narration is in the form of conversation on an extended thread in /lgbt/ about how she wants to ask out her classmate. The guys on the thread basically tell her what to message and she sends the messages and ends up pulling the girl and ahhh it’s just so cute. Also it’s a true story, so… yeah thats rly cool and maybe a tad weird cause like theres some nsfw??? But whatever.

Tonari No Robot by Nishi Uko

Okay so this was really good. Basically a girl falls in love with an intelligent android and the robot loves her back in a sort of robotic way. It’s not cheesy or gimmicky but instead a serious exploration of love between a human girl and a robot girl.

Im too lazy to do a post for each so here are the comics I’ve read in the last 48 hours. I finished that list I was working through!

If you could see love was cute but it would’ve been more satisfying if it was poly. 8/10

Sunami yuuko was hard to follow and didnt really have one or two relationships it followed, just a bunch of vague flirting. 5/10

Yuugai shitei doukyuusei was a whole trip and a half, that one girl is so wild and I love her for it. The relationship was too much of ecchi and not enough real yuri. 7/10

Handsome girl and sheltered girl was just like an actually normal comic with a relatively chill plotline. The characters were adorable and the holy thing was just so good, a little short though ig. 8/10

Yuri ni hasamaru is legitimately so cute yes so ugh. I think its just currently unfinished by why the fuck are they playing with me like that. It reads a little like yuri bait but who knows what’ll happen in future chapters. 5/10 (for now)

Sugar wa otoshigoro. Fuck. I really liked the main character in this one, shes so me. The ending was really upsetting. Idk what else to say, it was such a good read yet such a painful and unsatisfying read. 8/10

This one was very cute though didn’t really land for me as well as some of my recent reads. The girls are rly sweet though and I love their dynamic. The comic went out of its way to avoid actually showing them kiss in the comic, all of their kisses are offscreen. Tadokoro is really cute though dhfhfhfj

First one off my new reading list. Damn this was really good but the transition from ecchi to straight up censored sex in the epilogue kinda caught me off guard, but at the same time it was rly cool to see the girls as adults.

Woah you have great taste in yuri, do you have any lists of favorite comics or just like niche picks? I feel like the more yuri I read the deeper the genre becomes, and I would love some suggestions to add to my list.

I always recommend My Wish is to Fall in Love Until You Die, obvious CWs apply, and I really like Kase-san and Anemone is in Heat. I'd recommend pretty much everything by Milk Morinaga. Here's some random stuff from my illegal manga library that sticks out to me:

-Kyou Kara Mirai

-Jyoshikou Dakara Safe

-Tadokoro-san

-If You Could See Love (if you want something short but sweet this is a good one)

-Joshi Kouishitsu (this is literally just After School but if they fucked instead of making out)

-Hanjuku Joshi (CW teacher student subplot)

-Sunamo Yuuko and the Yuri People

-Yuugai Shitei Doukyuusei (you ever notice how lots of yuri start with these wacky premises and then they just fall for each other really hard and can't get out)

-Yuricam (this is basically a shounen battle manga where the battles are yuri)

-Handsome Girl and Sheltered Girl

-Come Rain or Shine

-Sugar wa Otoshigoro

Fuck. Thats gotta be one of the best yuri ever written. 13 chapters of pure lesbian joy. The answer to the age old question: “If you can’t have a gf you dont you just live vicariously through an incredible yuri manga?”

My Dear Lass - Tracy Hu

The more I read Manhua the more I love the world of Chinese wlw comic writing. The characters always feel so much more relatable and the stories are less dramatic and more realistic. All in all I just find the style of comics like this one to be really nice. There is nothing exactly groundbreaking about My Dear Lass, but the character’s were definitely very fun to read about.

I cried so hard over this one. I then reread it again the following night. I thought it would be yuri bait mixed with SM shit. I was right about the SM (though it is very SFW) but not the yuri bait. The yuri is REAL. Love this one so much.
