I'm curious about this topic, because I remember a very particular panel in the manga of a tv host depicting him as the "new young and handsome CCG bureau chief", having fangirls clubs and even his own beauty sponsor lol But I personally think it's all a psyop from his point of view. We always see him alone and how he wished it was a girl searching for him and not Kaneki. Not to mention how he directs his anger towards women in one way or another.

Before reading the entire manga, I personally never saw Furuta as a conventionally attractive character. In fact, he looks odd in most panels, like Ishida was trying to tell you beforehand how Furuta was without having any further information about him. For me, he was a blank canvas, and his image starts to distort as the story progresses.

Finally have some time to go through the shots of TG’s initial manuscripts and storyboards (from the preview video for Ishida’s art exhibit). Too much text is missing from the panels, so I’m just going to list my general impressions on what’s available.

Kaneki is a 2nd year uni student here, seems like he’s 100% ghoul here?

Anteiku is written with katakana instead of the usual hiragana.

The guy with the bionic eye is asking if Kaneki works here (looks like this got reused for Shinohara when he visited Anteiku)

Touka was pointing out the bionic eye guy. Yoshimura seems more laidback here, Kaneki’s saying that he got discovered as a ghoul, and Touka is shocked. (yeah, this Kaneki seems more like oneshot!Kaneki)

Kaneki’s talking about how he’s enjoyed his peaceful days as a university student, hence why he’ll do anything he can to eliminate those who try to destroy it. 8 cases (of human deaths due to ghouls) this month. Training and even doing one-finger pushups lol

There’s also a ghoul group called the Skull Men, their excessive hunting has caused Kaneki to be suspected as a ghoul, and Kaneki decides to do something about them for breaking hunting guidelines and jeopardizing “our ghoul lives”

“It’s time to hunt.” Kaneki going after the Skull Men to teach them a lesson? I think that’s his mask that he’s holding?? There’s also a mention of half-machine investigators, who are the only ones able to fight against ghouls.

Kaneki fighting the skull guys for breaking the rules when it comes to hunting. The bionic eye guy (who’s one of those half-machine investigators most likely) shows up and confronts Kaneki. Kaneki calls him pig bastard lol. (I wonder if this is the origin for Mado)

Kinda tough that I love Furuta sm even though sometimes I despise that he's an awful person and I can't stomach that a lot of innocent ppl have died and suffered because of him, but also I admire him because he was the only one with enough balls to end his own bloodline and accelerated the end of the CCG and the hypocrisy between humans and ghouls. Wow. Just wow.
