Honestly he’s more or less grateful she’s dragged him out in the first place, he didn’t care where they were as long as he wasn’t alone. “Maybe.” Still he pushed himself to his feet to walk over to the ledge. Gazing out into the dark with a furrow his brow. “I don’t see a whole lot.. Too much ambient light.” Eli explained, tipping his head in her direction. “Which is why I liked the view from where I was.”

“You know, most people don’t complain about ambient lighting,” she said, “Some people even think it’s romantic. Drivel, I say, but even so, you being all the way over there makes it much more difficult to do this--” Cressida pulled him closer and pressed her lips to his in a deliberately slow kiss.

“I appreciate your agreeing to speak with me. Your husband is not an easy man to get a hold of, but I think everyone is wondering what life is like behind the scenes in the Flickerman household. Who is the woman behind the man, as it were?”  ( @belgravianbitch​ )

“Exactly. I don’t know what I would have done tonight without you. Besides being a sad sack at home engrossed in his books and Pokemon Go.” Eli smiled in return, carefully taking the bottle again and allowing his gaze to follow after the blonde. “I think it looks best from where I’m sitting.” He chuckled lowly, scuffing the tarmac of the roof with the toe of his shoe.

“I’m better than books and Pokémon? That is high praise, indeed,” she joked. “Are you flirting with me?” She teased as she turned back toward him. “Or are you really insisting the view is better over there? Because if so, I think you should join me here and see what I mean.”

“I know you don’t but you do enjoy my company– especially if it involves alcohol.” Eli teasingly waved the bottle in his hand before lifting himself up beside her and inhaling a deep breath. “Mmhmm. For a second I was starting to get lightheaded.” Lazily he unscrewed the cap on the bottle to take a long swig from, offering her some afterwards. “You always have the best ideas.”

“I’m an idea woman. It’s what I do,” she said with a sideways grin. “Mm.” Cressida took an oversized gulp from the bottle, as well, then handed it back to him and wandered over to the ledge. She rested her arms on it and leaned slightly forward, taking in the view. “The view from the top is always better.”

Eli easily evaded spilled beer cups and overturned chip bowls until they wiggled out into the night, exhaling a long breath. “As long as you promise no to push me off.” He quipped, letting her hand go and gesturing toward the porch railing. “Ladies first. Hop on up.”

“You know I don’t enjoy making promises, but I guess I can make an exception. Just this once.” Cressida climbed on up and waited for him to join her. “Wow. I can actually breathe,” she joked.

“Honestly. I don’t mean to sound like a complete bore right now but I feel like I’m babysitting more than participating… I don’t even think they’d notice us slip out.” In one swift motion he both took Cressida’s hand and a rather large bottle of Jack off the shelf he had been leaning against, guiding her through the dense pack of sweaty bodies toward the back door.

Cressida had no argument. She laced her fingers with his and held on tight as they made their exit. “Private rooftop party?” she suggested, a playful grin on her face.
