ok like actually: i know all the problems with Homestuck, all of them!, and could list them alphabetically. i also cannot stand most of the fandom. Take this into consideration when casting judgement. Send me straight to hell. Bless.
Other than that, theres not much. Fiction isn't reality but people's fetishes are part of culture which enforces reality and is in turn enforced by reality. This is not some massive defense or condemnation of "scary" kink its really me sidestepping the subject if anything lmao. Roleplay and the like aren't strictly *fiction*, even, but that's more a semiotic argument than a critical one.
If you are really deep into communist Book Theory in the way that attracts Historical Figure-based name labels I'll. probably find you insufferable but I am generally amicable towards communist thought more generally (also anarchist leanings but i think anarchists and communists fighting each other is stupid). I need to read more theory myself, at the risk of finding myself more insufferable.

I'm imagining a world where RPGMaker somehow made it as the de facto codebase for software and you have to navigate your banking app by walking around in a huge room full of NPCs named "make deposit" and "make withdrawal" etc and there's loud as fuck stock music playing
In 2026, the chicest thing a gay actor can do is never explicitly come out as gay but also make it abundantly clear that he is. Coming out is too modern. Staying closeted is too old fashioned. But this method merges contemporary freedom with Old Hollywood glamour and allure, and it weeds out the dumbest people who truly don’t get it. I call it the Pascal Method.
You clearly don't go here or to queer history and signaling, or both, enough to have this conversation and I'm not going to explain it to you. You could have asked questions, you could have done even a modicum of research. You didn't and you made yourself look ignorant. Goodbye.
one "issue" with Evolution's Rainbow so far - i'm on page 101 or so - is the usage of "transgender" (adjective) expression to refer to secondary sexual characteristics like plumage and such appearing in the """"""wrong""""""" sex of animal when something else closer in connotation to "intersex" would be... better? its not a dealbreaker for the book but its one of those little terminology things where i just bite my tongue and go 'ok well i don't see why that should mean something DIFFERENT in humans - unless we're to argue that "transgender"ness is actually reliant on biological expression and that my only-recently-out ass is not 'transgender' while someone who's intersex categorically IS regardless of their identification. which is a suck ass definition of transgender.' LIKE I GUESS "TRANSSEX" COULD WORK sorta - since again frequently the "gender"-in-the-social-sense *is* also trans'd but the primary factor-of-note is the actual physical 'sex characteristics' of the animals in question
Putting the term "male gaze" on top of the fridge until everyone remembers that it refers to a cinematographic trend and not the act of looking at things while being a man
