Sarah gave the Weaver a redemption arc before Tamlin
So I saw this post by @considerable-length, that said basically if Nesta was a guy everyone would love her. And I 100% agree. But if you think about it, Nesta isn’t just any guy, she’s so similar to Rhysand, the guy we all love.
Rhysand shows the world his cool, indifferent, and sometimes cruel mask, in order to protect himself and his loved ones. Nesta does this same exact thing. They both show the world a mean and cruel face, but inside, are soft and vulnerable. The difference here is that Nesta doesn’t (yet) have anyone she can really share and be vulnerable to. (Do we all remember when she admitted to Feyre the cruelty was a mask and she really cared? And hid her true self? They were attacked before she could finish, but this was a thing.)
Nesta is mean to Cassian. Well, in ACOTAR, Rhysand wasn’t all that great to Feyre. I mean, he dressed her up in super revealing clothing that she hated, and then drugged her every night? That’s not very nice. But we all forgive him for that, because he was trying to help her as best he could. Nesta keeping Cassian at a distance might be the best way she can keep him safe (lets not gloss over the fact she’s really freaking powerful, maybe she doesn’t want to lose control and hurt him?)
Nesta and Rhys are also similar in their backgrounds/past. Both are the most powerful in their family, with powers nobody really understands. Both had a sibling taken from them. Nesta couldn’t keep Feyre from being taken to Prythian by Tamlin, but she tried to get her back. Rhys also couldn’t save his sister. While Feyre is still alive, having a sibling stolen is a big deal, and a trauma they both share. Both were shunned growing up. Nesta never fit in with anyone in their village, and Rhys’s power set him apart from everyone else. Both are victims of sexual assault. We all know wat happened to Rhys in Under the Mountain, but Thomas (I think that was his name) tried to assault Nesta too. I know these don’t compare, in that Rhys spent 50 years Under the Mountain, but I what happened to Nesta should not be ignored or forgotten.
Lots of people fault Nesta for letting her youngest sister go off into the woods to hunt alone. But I have to say; Nesta was a child too. You can’t fault her for making a mistake. Rhys had made hundreds of mistakes. I think the thing people don’t like here is that Nesta (indirectly!!) put Feyre in danger. But Rhys sent her to the Weaver? And to get the Book in the Summer Court? And when they all went to nullify the Cauldron (at the end of ACOMAF). Yes, these situations are different, but are they that different?
tl;dr - Nesta and Rhysand are basically the same character, at least through comparing their shared masks/vulnerability, their shared “meanness” to protect their loved ones, their shared pasts/traumas, and finally, they both put Feyre in danger. If Nesta was a guy we would all love her, because if she was a guy she would be Rhys.
P.S. sorry this is super long I’m writing this at midnight and just posting immediately before I get scared and keep it in my drafts forever. Also idk of the link up top will work cuz idk how tumblr works really tbh. Also sorry for typos. And plz don’t hate me y’all.
Pls read
The ACOTAR fandom loooves preaching “eveyone can have their own opinion✨😌” until somone says anything other than Rhys good Tamlin bad
Things people I wish more people remembered about acotar:
Lucien did try to help Feyre in the beginning of acotar. He did everything in his power (talk to Tamlin, try to get her out more...) and it's not his fault that he couldn't do what Feyre needed.
The Fae enslaves and slaughtered humans for millennia. Many of the people who did this are still alive and never got punished, humans are still getting killed and even the "good" Fae often consider themselves superiour. Therefore, it is perfectly logical for humans to be scared of the Fae/dislike them and it does not make them the bad guys or "racist".
Miryam and Drakon exist and are awesome. They saved 50k humans from slavery and were extremely important in the War. I could go on, but since I already made several posts about them, I won't.
Nesta likely isn't a witch, but something that 'feels' similar enough for the Illyrians to confuse it. However, since witches were introduced, there's a high chance there will actually be another witch-character in acosf.
The Cauldron still exists and is very much functional. (It was also kind of stolen, I'm still expecting some kind of reaction by the other High Lords).
Mor, to my knowledge, never actually told Nesta to stay away from Cassian. In fact, she was only rude to her twice, which really isn't enough to say how she was extremely horrible to Nesta or can never be forgiven for it.
Feyre was always given lots of time and proof to accept certain things like the Fae not all being bad or Rhys not being her enemy. Expecting others to do the same with nothing but words to go on is not realistic.
Velaris existed long before Rhys became High Lord. It was not his creation.
Nesta is only a few years older than Feyre, meaning that she, too, was still a child when Feyre went into the woods to hunt.
While we all want Nessian to just get together, it is perfectly legit for Nesta to refuse Cassian's advances, no matter what her reasons.
After Cassian's mother died, he killed every male who had part of the responsibility and destroyed the village.
Mor was important enough during the War that the humans are still awed by her 500 years later, although we don't know what, exactly, she did. Rhys, Cassian and Azriel were not really key players.
There is no canon-evidence that Elain's ex Grayson is a horrible person. One bad reaction in an extremely emotional, stressful situation does not make him an asshole.
While Elain and Azriel get along well and there are hints towards a potential relationship, there is no actual evidence towards either having a romantic interest in the other (beyond Feyre's speculations). Likewise, it is not yet said that Lucien has any romantic feelings for Elain beyond the mating bond.
Since Rhys is planning to twist his bargain with Keir by making visits to Velaris unpleasant for his people, it is likely that the Darkbringers will refuse to fight again should there be another battle.
Lucien, from what we see in acofas, is genuinely friends with Jurian and Vassa. It is likely that this friendship will last even if he should get together with Elain.
And last but not least: Every single character in acotar is morally grey - they all have good and bad qualities (well, with a few exceptions), there is always reason to love and hate them.
Feel free to add on!

Okay but the night court is the largest court in Prythian, so why haven’t we seen a single normal city outside of Velaris? The only other “cities” we’ve seen are the hewn city and the war camps (which are both terrible btw). So we know Velaris is the best place on earth. What about the other night court cities? How are they doing?
As is true with all people, fictional or real: hold your faves accountable. Do not love blindly
Rhys isn’t a feminist
Feminist: a person who supports feminism (Oxford languages)
Feminism: the belief in social, economic, and political equality of the sexes (Britannica)
I’m going to say this now because I know people are going to come for me
This is MY opinion
I am not “attacking” Rhys
I do not think Rhys is a bad person. I actually really like him
These are book characters
Here is why I would not call Rhysand a feminist
While he may be more progressive than other characters, his goal isn’t to fight for the equality of females in his society. For example: Tarquin, even from the beginning, has said he intended to fight for the equality of lesser Fae in the summer court. Cassian was the one who made the Illyrian lords let the women train. Rhys let Feyre make her own choices. If he were a feminist, he wouldn’t stop there.
He allows the mutilation of Illyrian females to continue in the camps. “But he doesn’t want to mess with politics!” He’s the most powerful high lord in history and more importantly he’s their high lord. Y’all bash Tamlin for doing the tithe but ignore this because it’s “tradition and politics”. Did the feminists in our world stop their fight for equality because of politics? No. A true feminist would say fuck tradition and start snapping necks.
Treating Feyre like a person instead of a pet doesn’t make him a feminist. Congratulations, you let her make her own choices! That’s called a healthy relationship. Now extend that passion for equality to all of the females in your court and not just your mate. Actually talk to the other high lords and leaders about these issues instead of just posturing.
In conclusion
Rhys isn’t a bad person, but he isn’t a feminist
This is just my opinion
am not attacking him or any of his stans
Please let people have their own opinions
If you demonize one morally grey character for their actions but stan another morally grey character and ignore their actions maybe don’t
Rhys doesn’t have a last name because Sarah gave them all to Aelin Ashryver Whitethorn Galathynius

The post we needed 🙌
Tamlin be like, “I know a place” then lock you in the house and go there alone
I was told people on here wanted to see this
Somone in my live the other night said:
“If Nesta was a man we would all be swooning over him”
If this is not the most truthful thing you have ever heard idk what is
Remember the whole Tamlin has a heart of stone thing? Well I do and I can’t forget it. Here’s some of my queries
-was it just part of the curse and did it go away when it was broken?
-is it like actual stone?
-how is he alive?
Tamlin: saves Feyre AND her family from poverty, gives her eveything thing she had ever wanted, and lives only to keep her safe
Everyone: what a TOOL! He is the WORST person in the history of a world I hope he DIES and burns in hell for eternity!!
Can we acknowledge that:
Tamlin was the ONLY person that could break the curse. He had the fate of Prythian on HIS shoulders alone. And he did break the curse. He got a human that killed a fairie with hate in their heart to fall in love with him, even if he never got Feyre to admit it before it was too late. But eveyone forgets about that.
Mor coming out to the inner circle
Az: ohhhhhh you don’t like me cause you’re gay
Mor: I’m bi
Az: ...
