Hey! We here at CNMC think it's important to acknowledge the Aboriginal history of the land we live on and feel there is #noprideingenocide - Please go to Triple J's page on the ABC website (ABC.net.au) and do the survey to change the date of the Hottest 100! Last year Triple J used the countdown to help raise over $100,000 for AIME (Australian Indigenous Mentoring Experience) who support aboriginal students through high school, university and onward towards employment and training (they are still continuing that this year). So, we guess they aren't complete assholes but we all know they should still change the date and could do better in other ways. Go online now, tell them how you feel. This is Adelaide's 🔥Hot Mess 🔥playing at the 'A Day of Clarity' Festival run by @clarityrecordsadelaide at this one night event 40+ bands play at 12 different spots (some are double ups where the location has separate rooms) around Adelaide. Hot Mess is made up of predominately women and one lovely Levi! (Levi & Drummer not in frame). Their music is great! Some very nice emo vibes! This terrible photo was taken on my phone (Genevieve) holding my arm over the crowd haha. I speedwalked over after sneaking out of an engagement party.

Brown Girls (2017) dir. Sam Bailey

A new web series by Fatimah Asghar that follows Leila, a South Asian-American writer just now owning her queerness and her best friend Patricia, a sex-positive Black-American musician who is struggling to commit to anything: job, art and relationships. While the two women come from completely different backgrounds, their friendship is ultimately what they lean on to get through the messiness of their mid-twenties.

Sort of Weekly Updates

Last weekend before Genevieve got sick and I got my wisdom teeth out we went and saw IV League open for Ali Barter at Jive Bar. It was brilliant.

IV League are a Melbourne band, led by the very cool Bella Venutti. Their collective sound reminded me of the Pixies. It was also really cool to find out that they won a Triple J Unearthed comp to be a part of Laneway Festival earlier this year, after only performing as a group for such a short time. Definitely a band to look out for and would highly recommend giving them a listen!

Street Cinema in Adelaide

In celebration of FELTdark's 1st birthday, FELTspace is throwing a street party shared with two of their neighbours Pushpin Boutique and Bliss Organic Cafe on the 21st of April, 6-10pm @ Adelaide's inner city 8-12 Compton Street! With 15+ artists participating!
