Sovrie wore nearly all of her fears on her sleeve. Purples, clowns, guns, her ex kismesis. There wasn’t a day that went by that one of these fears weren’t expressed.

Her biggest fear is one she never spoke, because there wasn’t no solution. There was no avoidance. There was only the inevitability that one day, Cerith will ascend and Sovrie will never see him again.

The two of them talk, surely Sovrie could request a rustblood like Cerith as her “assistant” but that’s under the assumption a highblood didn’t take them first. A highblood like Cerith’s boss who had a huge flush crush on her since the day Sovrie met Cerith and will ascend before Sovrie does.

Sovrie’s afraid because she knows Cerith will step on a ship and never be seen again.

“What?” Sovrie looked at the box confused. She picked up her copy of STRANGE TALES FROM THE FRONTIER, her favorite perigeely comic featuring two milkbeast wranglers sharing a heated pitch embrace on the cover and set it in the box. At least it could make good storage.

Sovrie stood at the end of the Lashtail Weald. The forest was a place she used to dream of going to with her matesprit before he was killed. He always spoke like he was in tune with it, he told her she was almost ready to enter, but died before he could ever take her.

She had been in a few times in recent perigees. A new friend lived out there, but she remembered the rules that Apogee had taught her on safety in the Weald.

She had cleared her person of not only any identification with her name on it, but also left her hemotyped clothes and signed clothes at home, lest the fae spirits try to take it from her. Sovrie’s friend routinely teased her for these superstitions about spirits she knew for sure didn’t exist, but knew how those rules connected her to a loved one who would never return.

Apogee was thrown to the ground as Sovrie watched on in horror from the window. Her lowblood matesprit dragged out of the bookhives by an angry Clown roaring about the insult of having a Bronze block his path for even a moment. It wasn’t the first time he had been targeted by a Highblood, but it was always terrifying.

Sovrie prayed that Apogee would be back in her arms soon. She watched as the Purple produced a gun. There was a single shot and.

All she remembered after that was holding his body. Everything was a blur for a long time after that. Even with the matesprit she loves dearly now, Sovrie never stops thinking about Apogee.

Matesprit does not like new moirail. Not good. Funny tho. 3 failed <> in 6 perigees. Finally 1 sticks. Matesprit cant stand them. Sigh.

Its better than last serious moirail. She rlly dislikes him. But apparently new moirail is concerning 2. Ok.

Been suspended from work for few nights. Moirail keeps calling it my vacation. Sigh. It wants 2 take me 2 an abandoned ship 2 explore. Reminded it this isn’t vacation.
