Happy Media Monday! Ever find yourself bopping your head and tapping your toe to a song in a foreign language? Well, this week's feature is a funny commercial for Soesman Language Institute, who now have me wondering what some of those lyrics actually were! It was banned in the 90's for obvious reasons, but makes an excellent point - I guess I really do need to learn Spanish...
CGIF!! This CGI Friday features an awesomely animated commercial for an interesting soda, called "Holypop". Based out of France, the company claims to source natural ingredients from the French Alps to make their products... that apparently turn you into a super ass-kicker! If you'd like, here's a link to their website. Check out their extremely violent and high energy video that also incorporates a good dose of swearing!
I'm glad you like the idea. Also... Do you think I can expand on Johnny's backstory that his mother nearly smothered him to death when he was a baby. Also the mother whose now in Annabelle the girl's body's name was Joannie. She can alternate between Anna's voice or her own. I may even give backstory to Joannie.

This CGI Friday's feature "Wire Cutters" is a well put together animated short by Jack Anderson. It's the story of two mining robots on a distant planet, and touches on themes such as teamwork, friendship and greed. A whole 9 minutes well spent - enjoy!
That's cool and you should. I never really watched Baywatch so I never knew Alexandra was in it.. And I don't think I could see a wiki page for Brigid. So I mostly know her from Paperboy. And that's badass. Also here's the antagonist of my sequel fic. She's the daughter of a Reverend and his wife. She was born in 2004. On the exact anniversary of the day Johnny was arrested in 1994. And the girl when she was born was possessed by the soul of Johnny's mother.

Although the ad campaign went on to win bronze Film Lions at the Cannes International Advertising Festival in June 2005, about a year later Ameriquest closed all 229 of its retail branches (in the wake of the subprime mortgage crisis). It seems the company took its tag line's philosophy a little too far...

I think an adult Cammie would be pretty leery of Johnny, especially after years of hearing Melissa’s side of the story. It would take a lot of charm to win her over again...
Happy first Media Monday of 2016!!! This is a funny commercial for Smart Beep that was meant to be aired during the 1999 Superbowl, but the Fox TV execs pulled it. Honestly, it's not racy - it's hilarious! Who says six year-old humour goes out of style... FART!!!
Can you imagine if it's about Johnny seemingly reformed/cured.. But finds himself slipping into his old ways sometimes.. Like it can take place around present time so he'd of been in an asylum or whatever for about 20 years or so.

Cool and that's nice to hear. Say how would you react if someone came to you and asked if you'd be up for a Paperboy sequel. I say that because... Welll Psycho from 1960 had it's first sequel in 1983.

I just thought of somethings one what are your favorite movies? and how well did you get along with your cast mates on Paperboy you know like the ones who played Cam and her mother?
I got along great with Alexandra Paul and Brigid Tierney! Alexandra is so nice and down to earth - I remember asking her which character she played on Baywatch, and her response was, “The one with no boobs”. Brigid’s brother Jacob and I became friends, and we worked together later on the William Shatner movie Tek Justice.
Some of my favourite films (long and short): Apocalypse Now, Martyrs, Helium, Starbuck, The Shore, V for Vendetta, Iron Man, Le Fabuleux Destin d’Amélie Poulain... off the top of my head ;)

This is a very funny commercial from 2000 for John West canned salmon, depicting a very unusual nature documentary! It won several awards in 2001 and 2002 including best commercial of the year at the British Television Advertising Awards, winner of the Advertising Creative Circle Awards, received a Gold Lion at Cannes Lions International Advertising Festival, and won the Grand Prize for Television/Cinema at the London International Awards. Welcome to CGI Friday, where I feature cool projects heavily reliant on computer generated imagery. This week, I'm very pleased to present a true gem of a sci-fi short film!
I have to admit, I wasn't very impressed with the title at first... "Uncanny Valley"? WTF?! Is someone trying to make a bad rhyme...? But then, I looked into what it actually means, and it makes perfect sense.
Wikipedia defines it as: "The uncanny valley is a hypothesis in the field of aesthetics which holds that when features look and move almost, but not exactly, like natural beings, it causes a response of revulsion among some observers. The "valley" refers to the dip in a graph of the comfort level of beings as subjects move toward a healthy, natural likeness described in a function of a subject's aesthetic acceptability. Examples can be found in the fields of robotics and 3D computer animation, among others".

So, how does this relate to the film? In a tech addicted world where peoples' reality can be totally consumed by computer generated make-believe, how easy would it be to manipulate them? So close to reality... but when it's distinguishable from the real thing, how repulsive it becomes! This film is not only packed with great CGI and a captivating plot, it also makes a social commentary that is extremely relevant. After all, kids can fly drones like they're playing a video game, right?
