“You know what’s worse than marriage? Matchmakers”
'I'm not really this boring.' "Hmm... I believe that's debatable."
“Oh, Ruffles. . I know I don’t pay nearly enough attention to ya’, but no need to act so bitter! Me, boring? Honestly. Shoulda’ gone for stand-up comedy.”
“Oh, don’t you know? You make me laugh everyday with your talk of “shiny” things you want from me. I’m afraid you’re the comedian here, my dear. But a sister wife of mine should entertain me, to say the least.“
“Now, wait - if I make ya’ laugh everyday, I’d say that qualifies for a gift. A very shiny gift, yes?~ Might even agree to this whole sister wife thing. C’mon, I know you’re dyin’ to spend some of that fortune on me.”
How emblematic it was for someone to ask of precious metal or stones from him. The hounds were sniffing around the sweat of another man’s toil. As if the gil that he assimilated over the years had tumbled into his lap. In retrospect many could say it did, his father was the one that elevated the ShinRa Corporation but it had always been Rufus in the backdrop, conceiving and undermining the will of his late father. But it took a man of aptitude to rule a sizeable billionaire estate.
“NO.” A minute pause. “I still find it exceedingly amusing that you think you have a choice on this and a woman that seems so attune with nature would want materialistic objects such as ‘shiny’.”
Truthfully, she didn’t want any sort of shiny items from the man. But what else was there to ask for during her horribly trying time of having to be stuck with the title of another ‘sister wife’? Certainly not anything in the physical realm. He’d sooner snuggle up with an overpriced bottle of wine. That’s one thing to be thankful for. In fact - everything reeked of snobbery in the vicinity. What ever happened to simplicity? Nothing save for wit and the will to survive was necessary in her homeland. At the least, she could still get her kicks poking fun at the blond until he had enough. “Silly me, thinkin’ that consent is necessary when becomin’ any kind of wife! Must be pretty insecure if ya’ have’ta force girls into your harem of brides.” A disapproving click of the tongue being given whilst shaking her head. So disgraceful.
A mouth full of invectives wired and posed to strike. A tongue just as wild as the tendrils of her hair. She was like the planet’s soil while he was manufactured made from cold steel: white and black whereas she was of blue skies and earth tones. Lowering his eyes he conveyed a diminutive huff of a laugh, irate but notably entertained by her statement. Fingers retracted from their position on his lap, unfolding and reaching along the polished surface of a desk. He positioned a pen that had shifted somehow. “Insecure?” He echoed the word, permitting it to trespass on his lips. “Far from that.” Again, the placement of his hands fell onto his thighs. Power held no room for insecurities. It was a folly that he could not and would not afford to fall within the cracks.
“This establishment had been made for…” He shifted the vision of his eyes towards the ceiling, marking the intricate lines above and musing over the period of time they had conversed on this matter. “.. Six months?” Ample amount of time for one to grow accustom of their fate. Movement of his chin lowered again and he examined her again. “But the deposition is different now. You’ll have a companion and not only me. See, I am a compromising man. It is just a matter of others complying.” ( or rather submitting ).
Watched through half-lidded eyes, amused that he found it necessary to adjust an object which held little importance. It would have the same use in the end. However positioned, was of no consequence. Such a stickler for perfection. Striding closer to the ridiculously spotless desk, she snatched the pen before stepping away once more and turning her back to the other - absentmindedly rotating the item between two digits while nonchalantly whistling. “Say what ya’ will, can’t help what it looks like from the sidelines.~” Of course, despite having questionable morals from time to time, she wasn’t a thief. So after she got done toying with the writing utensil, she tossed it behind her head. Listening as the pen bounced on the surface of his desk, bound to roll off the edge. That action being made for no other reason but to cause annoyance. Not many things compared to the enjoyment of seeing a normally composed individual showing an ounce of emotion.
Turned back around, placing a finger just above her jawline. “An’ for six months, I’ve been tellin’ ya’ it ain’t so! Somethin’ tells me ya’ like the constant harassin’.” The same finger that had been resting against her face wagged in further disapproval. “There’ll be no complyin’ here, rich boy. The perks o’ freedom outweigh any pros of a companion. Or ten.“

sᴜɴsʜɪɴᴇ • what began as a soft giggle turned to squeaks of protest as she swatted at the older’s hand, complaining that she was going to have to redo her pigtails later if fang kept that up. “uh…” and then she hesitated, expression shifting to one of thoughtful panic before she hopped back off of her friend, turning away and letting her arms swing back and forth. “what chocolate…? i certainly didn’t put any under my pillow….that’d make it melt, anyway. not a very good place to put it, y’know.”
The much smaller girl's swatting and sounds of protest caused Fang to chuckle lowly, retracting her hand - holding it up to signal her retreat. Impressive! The red head almost matched her own wild appearance. Almost. Maybe some more ruffling would do the trick. Her hand returned to wreaking havoc on the girl's hair. Much better! After Vanille left her back, she faced her. Arms positioned akimbo while her expression had suddenly become stern. Albeit, it wasn't genuine. "Oh?" A dark brow arched. "So, if ya' had any, you'd definitely share, riiight?"
'I'm not really this boring.' "Hmm... I believe that's debatable."

slides a present towards the huntress
Studied the present in front of her, a distrustful gaze soon falling upon the mischievous tyke. For good reason - or plainly her lingering grudge, she was reluctant to accept the gift. A single digit resting atop the mysterious item before sliding it back over. “Hate to break it to ya’, but it’s not my birthday.”
Slender arms wrapped around the Huntress, a soft smile on her lips. "You're a beautiful person, you know that?"
“Tell m’self that every day, ya’ know!” Her tanned hand rose to lightly ruffle the young rosette’s tresses. “Whole lot more believable comin’ from you, though.~~” A playful wink followed.
@coolestoldhag requested a starter.
“Right, so…do you still remember the way to your village, then?” It hasn’t been nearly an hour or so after their crash landing into Gran Pulse. While the entrance may have been frightening and life threatening, the view they were greeted with is honestly, without a doubt, gorgeous. Nowhere near the hellish descriptions Sanctum and Dysley often preached in national Cocoonian television since she was young.
This formerly perceived hell on earth became the respite and sanctuary for these l’Cies, if only for a little while.
Her gaze moves over to Hope, nodding to Sazh enthusiastically before disappearing down the paths of Terra Incognita with the chocobo chick in tow. Snow seems in high spirits, surveying the surroundings with his own awe of the place as Lightning had earlier. Vanille caught Lightning’s gaze just then and offered both of her hands as a double wave in greeting. Lightning hesitates, attempts a small smile, and waves back.
Her face becomes forlorn again when she returns her attention back to Fang, knowing that the discussion of their home could be a topic that is…well…roundabout. It has been centuries since they were here, right? Their home as they know it could be different. But it is their only hope.
“Please tell me we’re not far.”
“Of course I know the way. Like the back of m’hand.” A dismissive wave being given to the other. Truthfully, she was taking her time eyeing the scenery. It had been far too long. Occasionally she flickered her gaze away to study everyone’s reactions on their new surroundings once they were in the clear from the wildlife. That’s right, this is ‘hell’. Why, with no tree drooping or wilting and glistening streams cleverly plotted around the earth - she’d been so sure the terrain would make all crinkle their nose in revulsion. Maybe it's that those not native to the land simply branded a harsh description on what they didn’t understand. Or too ignorant for believing anything else. The pessimist in her obviously thought the latter. The small party gradually split up and explored on their own. Despite what they had been fed all their lives, the vast land no doubt piqued their interest and found it impossible to not submit to curiosity. Though witnessing their second take on this world did bring the Oerba native some satisfaction - her mind was more preoccupied on what had become of her village in all the time she and Vanille were absent. Fang knew that she had to prep herself on what they may see. It could end up a relief with any fretting being for naught - or, nothing could ever ready her for the letdown. Even more so, she knew Vanille was concealing something. Ever since they stepped foot on Pulse it became more evident. But she had her wily ways, and her longtime friend would spill in time. Hearing the other woman’s question, an abrupt and short laugh was her initial response. “Keep your shirt buttoned, girl. We won’t b’there for a long while.” Quickening her pace to get further ahead, she spun around and extended her arms. “If you’re ‘bout to keel over so soon, we can make camp. But we won’t be gettin’ close ‘til ‘ya see a tower.” A pause as she flashed one of her grins. “And even then we aren’t there yet!”

The prince looked down at the stranger. “Hm? Can I help you?”
The huntress busied herself with studying the prince. She couldn’t quite put her finger on it, but he looked very familiar. That, or just well-known - thus his face was harder to forget. After her presence had been acknowledged, she spoke; remembering why that was. “Heard your old man died. Sorry.” Though condolences were given, the execution was poor.
@coolestoldhag
Blue irises stared up at the huntress, a soft smile played at her lips. “Well. –I guess we should count this as our first real introduction.” – slender arms shifted behind her back, head cocking to the side. “Vanille has told me a lot about you…. actually– all our friends have. I felt a bit out of the loop not getting to meet you personally. Thank you for everything you’ve done. – for helping Lightning… she appreciates it – It’s nice to know she has people to rely on. –.”
“
In response to a familiar voice, Fang glanced over her shoulder before turning her form entirely, a friendly smile tugging at the corners of her lips - green irises leveling with the other’s. They only interacted once, in the Void Beyond. It was certainly a relief to see her living and breathing now that the insanity was out of the way. For the time being. “What can I say, I’m a hard woman to find!” The amicable smile turned into a grin - the girl was so polite in manner, some of her less than elegant mannerisms were sure to lighten the mood. “Ol’ Light had a very interesting way of bringin’ us all together.” She absentmindedly rubbed her cheek, where the older rosette had struck a blow back then. Good times. "It’s really no trouble.” Finally, a bit of grace was offered, momentarily looking to the ground. “Light - everyone, helped me just as much.” Lest the moment turned sappy, the Oerba native cleared her throat and straightened up. “So, there anythin’ ya’ need helping with? Shopping? Sense beaten into Snow? Loosen Light up with some drinks so ya’ can freely go out? Just name it!”
'I'm not really this boring.' "Hmm... I believe that's debatable."
“Oh, Ruffles. . I know I don’t pay nearly enough attention to ya’, but no need to act so bitter! Me, boring? Honestly. Shoulda’ gone for stand-up comedy.”

she climbs herself onto fang's back, her chin moving to rest on her friend's shoulder as she gives her a wide grin. "hi~."
“Well, well. .” The bronzed woman began with an easy smile, reaching back to gently pat the girl on the head - at first, anyway. The gentle pat turned into ruffling her friend’s hair into complete disarray.“I found the chocolate under your pillow! Holdin’ out on me again, eh?!”
@coolestoldhag
“I knew it… you’re literal perfection. –What was I thinking.. wanting to marry SNOW… you’ve won me over… you…and your eight pack”
“Someone’s gotta’ match up to your own perfection. - Ya’ know, I was gonna’ ask about that myself. He wears all those layers to conceal the flab! Real sneaky, drawin’ them abs in sharpie.”
Stares curiously at the huntress
Noticing the little no-good nymph within her presence, the woman’s nose crinkled whilst a suspicious squint was directed at her.“Shouldn’t ya’ be busy ruinin’ someone else’s day?”
"Is it true that you have an eight pack?~"
“Ohoho - why, yes! Feel free to admire.~~ Just keep that little fact on the down-low. All your uneligible bachelors are feelin’ pretty downtrodden in my presence as it is.”
'I'm not really this boring.' "Hmm... I believe that's debatable."
“Oh, Ruffles. . I know I don’t pay nearly enough attention to ya’, but no need to act so bitter! Me, boring? Honestly. Shoulda’ gone for stand-up comedy.”
@coolestoldhag
“You’re the most dashing person I know!~” Winks suggesitvely
Leaned back whilst breathing in the glorious, familiar air of her ego growing. “Oh, do go on.~~ Ya’ got all night to smother me with love.”
My love-- you've come to me at least.
Of course!~Gotta’ keep all them uneligible bachelors at bay.My looks are so dashing, they’ll be too threatened to try.NO DOUBT.
