A demon that is comically bad at any sort of chance card and or dice game but has to agree to it when humans bet their soul on it or something because that'd be admitting to be worse than a mortal at something.

I wish scifi explored more often the idea that if aliens that are roughly humanlike did exist they'd likely trigger our uncanny valley HARD and would be significantly creepier to look at than idk a space rock looking alien
It would probably be even creepier if they tried to copy our social behaviors to you know, interact with us and seem less threatening.
Like maybe they'd try to smile but their facial muscles were slightly different and so the smile ended up looking more like a grimace or an edited creepypasta.
A member of an alien species that mostly reproduces asexually and or without romantic couples who's like the opposite of an aromatic human in that they do desire and need romantic companionship.
I like the concept of how isolating it would feel. To be extremely lonely for the majority of your life and just not know why, even if you have [insert what is considered an appropriate social group in your species] and still never being fulfilled.
I'd imagine it'd also be hard to discover about yourself since with being aromantic you can always start a relationship and realize it's not for you, but if you've never considered wanting a relationship it's pretty hard to start to do so.
A 2 pov story where one is a classic romantasy writing from the pov of Protagonist 1 whose Evil Parent™ is a high ranking officer in the resident Evil Empire™ that Protagonist 1 is mildly critical of but is mostly about Protagonist 1 in love with Protagonist 2 and the other one is a fully high fantasy extremely politically book about a revolution from the pov of Protagonist 2 where they barely mention Protagonist 1 (and most of those are because the revolution needs the military secrets about Evil Parent™).
I think maomao and monica would be great friends

Additionally but similar, alien who comes from a species were some form of non monogamous relationship structure is the default but is for a variety of reasons much happier in a monogamous relationship.

Alien 1: I really don't get why humans find you easier to talk to than me. We look basically identical.
Alien 2: Yeah, weird, right?
Alien 1 interacting with humans: forcing a smile so wide it reaches their ears but literally, showing off their way different sets of teeth before robotically shaking their hand like a weird skin walker and horizontally blinking their eyes.
Alien 2 interacting with humans: Expresses emotion to humans by pasting appropriate eyebrows over their eyes because they don't have facial expressions, says hi by shaking their hands with his tentacle because it's more similar to their own way of greeting.

Hokey romance parody that starts out as a sexy romance that does all the 3 acts of a standard hockey romance in the first part and randomly turns into a horror book about CTE and a scathing critique of sporting organizations ignoring it to make money.
Two people who are in equally fucked up cults trying to convince each other they're not in a cult.
To elaborate. One of them is in the weird blood ritual kind of cult the other is in one of the ones that look incredibly normal but are insanely fucked up too. Neither of them notice their own is a cult but realizes the other is in one perfectly well.
