crucial reading experiences
books that take me months and i Know i have to think v hard and look up so many things to appreciate it properly. and maybe i will never fully appreciate it but it’s about the process ! the language!
rereading a childhod favourite and it still holds up <3

late night reading a whole book from start to finish and then not being quite sure if it was actually good or when my dreams started and would it be as good in the light of day… probably not and that’s ok
when you know NOTHING about what a book is about, and so it’s about the trust exercise of it all

the series i spite read all 3 books for. very important maturing experience to never do that again
books where you don’t care for anyone and realise that reading is sometimes about more then rooting for a character. the difference between this bullet point and the prev one is crucial.

books that revive you from a reading slump that was months long but then immediately send you into a reading slump again because it was too good. suffering from success or whatever

It's really hard to explain what I mean but yknow that moment in the show where the protagonist realises who is pulling all the strings and it all clicks into place. But it implicates their companion in the process? And they turn around to tell their companion about their revelation and the shot changes and you can just see the companion is already 5 steps ahead of them. They're got this knowing look and a smarmy smile on their face. And before the protagonist even gets to speak they have a silent moment of "we both know what we know." LITERALLY MY FAVOURITE TYPE OF VILLAIN REVEAL.
